Returning to the rental, Song Guanchao brought so food.

Lu Feng was eating when he said, "They went out today and bought quite a few things; they even drove back in a car."

He pointed to an SUV parked outside the opposite house, "That Volkswagen there."

Song Guanchao humd in response, "They must have gone to buy equipnt."

Lu Feng continued, "Also, they cased a spot today."

"Lingjiang Bank?"

"Right," Lu Feng said. "They stayed outside the bank for over three hours and then drove along the bank to Lingshan, probably getting familiar with the route."

Song Guanchao said, "Looks like it’s going to be in the next few days."

Lu Feng asked, "Squad leader, are we really not calling the police?"

"I’ve already reported it," Song Guanchao said. "We’ll catch them in the act. If we catch them now, they won’t get many years."

Lu Feng said, "But they have guns. What if soone gets hurt when it happens?"

"I’ve tampered with the bullets. If they dare to pull the trigger, they can expect their barrels to explode."

Facing Lu Feng, Song Guanchao kept nothing hidden.

Lu Feng’s eyes widened, "Holy shit, you’re ruthless, squad leader!"

"Keep eating; I’m going to make a call."

Song Guanchao walked to the balcony, watching the house opposite while making a call to Wu Qiangwei to ask for leave.

Wu Qiangwei had been investigating on the ground during this period. At most, there were so docunts to handle, nothing urgent. It was easy to get leave.

After requesting leave, Song Guanchao leaned back in his chair, pondering over the public security team that was tracking him.

The captain of the division’s public security team was Minister Zhou’s son, Zhou Jun.

"Minister Zhou wants to ss with ?"

"Was Wu Ming also arranged by him to stay close to the secretary?"

Being undermined secretly wasn’t really a surprise.

He just felt that Minister Zhou was being a bit too sloppy.

However, since he had made things clear yesterday, the other party would not continue to follow him if they weren’t fools—at least not for a short ti.

But, a feud had been established.

Song Guanchao was not the forgiving type; it wasn’t in his nature to let grudges go unaddressed.

He couldn’t touch Minister Zhou for the ti being, but he could certainly give his son a lesson.

Staring at the lit room across the way, an evil plan slowly ford in his mind.

...

Ever since Captain Hu had unexpectedly arrived at the Jindu Club last ti, Zhou Jun beca much more circumspect.

He hadn’t dared to co over for several consecutive days.

Tonight, he couldn’t hold back and had Brother Dao arrange for a college girl to co over and serve him.

He had two properties in the city, one being a luxury apartnt downtown and the other, a common residential building in the old southern district.

He had been keeping a low profile these days, staying in the older residence.

At that mont, the room was ablaze with passion, the young girl’s throat hoarse from crying out.

After going at it three tis in a row, Zhou Jun lay sprawled out on the bed.

He reached for his phone, only to find it missing.

He got up to look around but still couldn’t find it.

"When did I lose it?"

Zhou Jun’s face twisted in annoyance; recently, nothing seed to be going right for him.

Downstairs.

Song Guanchao lurked in the shadows and pocketed the phone he had just stolen.

Exiting the building, he slipped away from the complex, avoiding the surveillance dead zones.

The next morning.

As the three gun thieves went out for breakfast, they bumped shoulders with a tall, broad man.

The man cursed loudly. The thieves, known for their volatile nature, were close to starting a confrontation but held themselves back.

"Fucking moron."

Spitting out a wad of phlegm, Lu Feng strode away with swagger.

No sooner had he left than the thieves reached into their pockets and discovered their phones were gone.

He turned to look back, but Lu Feng had already disappeared without a trace.

"Damn, it’s a Lao Rong!"

"Lao Rong" is the slang term among criminals for a pickpocket.

The other two frowned, "Forget it, better to mind our own business than to stir up trouble over a cellphone."

Anyway, there was nothing important on their phones, so if it was stolen, so be it.

The three of them walked out, saying, "I’ll scope out the bank today, Old Zhang and Qiangzi, you two deliver the goods to the mountains."

Old Zhang hmm-ed in agreent, then asked, "Brother Sha, when do we make our move?"

Brother Sha said, "Let’s get all the prep work done today, scope the place out one more ti tomorrow, and move the day after."

"Alright!" Old Zhang and Qiangzi couldn’t wait, both eager to get started.

"After this job, we can retire early."

All three had expressions of anticipation and excitent on their faces.

...

Returning to his rented apartnt, Lu Feng tossed the phone to Song Guanchao, "Done."

Song Guanchao began to check the texts and various chat apps.

There was nothing useful in the texts, but the chat apps were filled with flirtatious ssages with various won and so transfer records.

He started to compose a text ssage and sent it to Zhou Jun’s phone.

Then he replied using Zhou Jun’s phone.

Sitting on the side, Lu Feng silently watched Song Guanchao’s slick operation and suddenly felt a bit sorry for Captain Zhou of the public security brigade.

Why the hell would you ss with the platoon leader?

That’s like courting death by lighting a lamp in a restroom!

Ti flew by, and soon it was Friday.

That afternoon at five thirty, an armored cash transport van stopped in the Lingjiang Bank parking lot.

Four security personnel got off the vehicle, accompanied by the TV station’s star presenter, Zhou Qian.

Lingjiang had been the subject of several negative news stories recently, and the propaganda departnt hoped the station could produce a few programs to promote Lingjiang.

Zhou Qian did not like these political assignnts, but with the orders from the propaganda departnt, she had no choice but to comply.

So she contacted the cash transport company and planned to make a docuntary-style interview with the cash transport workers, docunting their daily tasks.

She was very good at highlighting the heroics of the ordinary folk, and these typical workers resonated more with the audience.

At that mont, the cash transport workers were standing next to the van, guarding the back door of the bank with the security guards.

Bank staff thodically carried bags of cash and safes with valuables onto the vehicle.

Zhou Qian stood nearby, a sports cara hanging from her chest, chatting about everyday things with them.

This was her interviewing style, to talk as if she’s a friend rather than conducting a formal interview with a cara.

Across the street from the parking lot, next to the curb, a silver SUV was parked, and inside, three gun thieves stared fixedly at the cash transport van through their window.

A hundred ters away, a black sedan was parked, with Song Guanchao and Lu Feng inside, closely watching the thieves’ vehicle and their every move.

Lu Feng said, "It’s nearly the weekend; when are they planning to strike?"

Song Guanchao replied, "Robbing an armored car is a big deal; they’ll definitely need to plan it carefully, after all, one slip and they’re behind bars for good... Huh?"

He emitted a soft sound of surprise upon seeing a familiar figure.

Zhou Qian?

What is she doing here?

Just then, a black sedan drove into the bank’s parking area.

The car stopped, and Secretary of the Municipal Committee Chu Xiao’e, with a little girl about five years old, got out of the car.

Song Guanchao was sowhat astonished; another old acquaintance.

Chu Xiao’e stood by the car and made a phone call.

Soon after, Zhang Yue ca out of the back door of the bank.

The two won stood by the car, engaged in conversation about sothing.

"Secretary Chu knows Zhang Yue?"

Song Guanchao was surprised.

Could it be that there was so vested interest between the two?

I’ll have to take a look at Li Fuhai’s notebook and those evidences related to Zhang Yue when I have a chance.

"Damn, these robbers are planning to hit today!"

Lu Feng suddenly exclaid.
