Afternoon, governnt work eting in Shanan County.
This is the first work eting since Liu Zhizhong took office as County Mayor.
The leadership cadres of various enterprises and institutions under the county governnt, bureaus and offices, all participated, filling every seat, and the eting was quite lively.
Although this was just a formality, it was sothing that needed to be done. Liu Zhizhong chaired the eting with a humorous and witty style, able to make people laugh and win much goodwill from his subordinates.
The new County Mayor, tall and handso, with good speaking skills, and having driven a Super Maybach turning heads, had a certain approachable charm among the leadership cadres.
During the eting, Liu Zhizhong didn't ntion any "three fires" of a new official. Everything proceeded as usual. He also stated that he would spend three months sinking into the grassroots, and no one opposed this plan.
Though there was a sense of closeness, when it ca to work, everyone managed their own affairs, as they'd always been used to. If the new County Mayor wanted to visit the grassroots, let him go. After all, it's not them, the big bosses living and working in the county town, who have to endure hardships.
So, many leadership cadres flattered Liu Zhizhong, saying things like he was unafraid of hardships and dangers, and considerate of the people's plight.
These flattery remarks, Liu Zhizhong just listened to them without taking them to heart. But what Liu Zhizhong wanted to do, he was going to do for sure.
He indeed needed a comprehensive, in-depth understanding of the entire county's situation before making plans.
As for Mo Dayou, the secretary, his goodwill towards Liu Zhizhong wasn't strong, mainly because this young man wasn't very sociable! Everyone else enjoyed the whole package of eating, drinking, and leisure, and he only went halfway. What's with that holier-than-thou attitude? At his young age, does he not need won? Aren't the won in hotels beautiful enough? Aren't foreign girls exciting? Isn't it thrilling to have fun with them?
So, Mo Dayou held a small eting with his own team, regarding Liu Zhizhong, let him be! He can do whatever he wants as long as it doesn't affect Shanan's atmosphere or everyone's interests. If it touches on everybody's interests, then we must firmly oppose it, giving him no face, and even forcing him to leave.
After all, the sky of Shanan is under Mo Dayou's control; everything goes according to him. As long as you don't provoke him, it's fine. Provoking him won't end well!
Obviously, with Liu Zhizhong's character, coming with the aim of achieving political accomplishnts, it was only a matter of ti before serious conflicts erupted with the local forces led by Mo Dayou.
At least sixty percent of Shanan's cadres are Minority, capable of resorting to violence if provoked.
The remaining forty percent are Han people cadres, but the vast majority of them are native Shanan people or from Dongguang State. Only a few are outside Han people cadres, stuck in dead-end positions, just getting by and taking what benefits they can.
Liu Zhizhong is the most unique Han people cadre, an outsider, for whom being a County Mayor is a tough issue. Without a team foundation locally, without organized public support, attempting to make political achievents or touch local forces' interests will inevitably result in continuous disputes.
After the county governnt work eting ended, it was mid-afternoon. Liu Zhizhong and Hamuer headed ho, needing to buy and pack so items for the countryside visits.
Liu Zhizhong also went to an ATM to withdraw so cash for ergencies.
While he was withdrawing money, Hamuer stayed in the car. As soon as Liu Zhizhong reached the ATM and inserted his card, two robust street minority young thugs showed up, brazenly held a knife to his neck, and demanded he withdraw fifty thousand for them.
This situation... Damn...
