Liu Zhizhong and Xiang Wenxin had agreed that after eting Li Tanglu, they would take her to Hu Yang University to visit the prestigious institution where Mr. L once studied.
The place of their eting was not very far from Hu Yang University, just about five kiloters away.
Upon arriving at the eting place, they looked around and indeed found it quite satisfying. At least, Xiang Wenxin was quite pleased with the location.
The place was situated in a corner of a city park, which could be said to be both inside and outside the park.
Built against the mountain was an antique-style teahouse, with a very serene environnt and a good view. Standing beside the window upstairs, one could see the entire park and even glimpse most of the main campus of Hu Yang University.
In front of the teahouse, a clear stream flowed through the park. The water was filled with lush aquatic plants and schools of fish, creating a pleasant scene.
There was a special small bridge that spanned the stream, wide enough for only one car to pass.
After crossing the bridge, the parking lot beneath the teahouse, shaded by towering trees, was unusually chic. Even on sumr days, the parking lot was cool, spared from the sun's heat.
Liu Zhizhong's car pulled in, and stepping out into the shade was particularly pleasant. It was necessary to note, the temperature in Provincial City had reached 38 degrees today!
There weren't many cars in the parking lot, but all were high-end, giving the feel of a small luxury car show. Each car, cleaned and polished, made its owner seem very prestigious.
The teahouse was not tall, and it wasn't very large either, with a main hall on the first floor and private rooms on the second and third floors. The four walls were ancient-style brick and stone, creating an elegant atmosphere.
Both the courtyard and the wide balconies on the second and third floors were filled with clusters of fragrant flowers, the scents carried by the breeze, adding to the comfort of the place.
Here, apart from the chirping of birds in the forest, almost no other sounds were heard. The guests all seed well-mannered, with no loud noises occurring.
Liu Zhizhong and Xiang Wenxin, wearing sunglasses, entered the hall; inside, there were three tables of guests enjoying tea, coffee, and quiet conversations, mindful of the public setting.
The atmosphere was very pleasant.
The staff here, too, were neatly dressed and quite beautiful, giving off a sense of professionalism.
Overall, Old Secretary Li had chosen this place to et the influential Miss Xiang Wenxin with great care. It was appropriate, dignified, and very classy.
Liu Zhizhong rembered that during his university days, this place was just a wild grassy area on a small hill in a corner of the park, with people fishing alongside the stream.
Even just a few years had brought significant changes, elevating its class.
As they entered the hall, a tidy middle-aged woman approached them, still charming and carrying an air of nobility.
She approached with a smile and spoke softly, "Are you Mr. Liu and Miss Xiang?"
Liu Zhizhong and Xiang Wenxin exchanged glances, and Zhizhong replied, "Yes, we are. May I ask who you are?"
"I am one of Old Li's housekeepers. Would you please follow ?"
"After you."
The middle-aged woman led them to the elevator, swiped her card to open the one on the left, and courteously invited them to enter first.
There were two elevators; one required a card swipe, and the other did not—this added a touch of exclusivity. Liu Zhizhong suspected that this could be one of Old Secretary Li's secret places, and the elevator was for his personal use.
Soon, the woman entered the elevator, pressed the button for the sixth floor, and they found the panel inside only had a button for the number six, which was quite interesting.
Liu Zhizhong and Xiang Wenxin were montarily startled but soon understood. Zhizhong understood quite well.
From the outside, the building appeared to have only three floors.
But in reality, against the mountain on the back, there was an additional floor not visible from below.
Deciding on the fourth floor in the elevator might have seed inauspicious, and the fifth floor, a bit off too; so then, the sixth floor it was, a traditionally auspicious number!
This place, also, was worthy of a six!
