(Adrian POV)
"Greetings, High Wizard Dore!" The guards at the entrance of the rchant guild building greeted the high wizard but they seem to only glare at Piggy Bank.
"Are you not going to greet the Avalon Branch Leader?" High Wizard Dore stated with a reprimanding tone.
The two guards look at each other and I could see that they are torn on what they need to do. It seems that they have been briefed by whatever entity has the most control while the Grand rchant Leader was out. Still, they cannot ignore the words of High Wizard Dore as he is one of the most powerful forces that they have in the rchant guild.
"We greet the Avalon Branch Leader Piggy Bank!" The guards stated but one could hear that the greeting for High Wizard Dore had much more energy.
"It is fine. You do no have to force yourself with this as I do not want both of you to lose your jobs." Piggy Bank stated which is why I smacked his face with my tail.
"Oh! I almost forgot. The Avalon Branch Leader Piggy Bank will be bringing his beloved pet, Gatto, with us. This is one of the rarest breeds of cats in the world and the Lord of Avalon himself caught it for Avalon Branch Leader Piggy Bank as a token of their friendship." High Wizard Dore stated as he already jumped into the statent before the guards could ask.
"We have been given the directive to not have pets inside the building, High Wizard Dore." The guards stated.
"You say that, but the bird of the Grand rchant Leader is still in his office. There are also other high officials that have their pets in their own offices, and they have bigger pets than a cat. I can attest that the cat is not harmful at all. This breed is not fit for battle but is all for prestige which is why they were bred." High Wizard Dore stated, and the guards could only agree as they did not want to be confronted by him.
I got to agree but the old man has a way to be forceful when he needs to. He has excellent sense of what needs to be done for his own benefit. Maybe this is why he just waltz inside of the guild and demanded them to sponsor him. Anyways, we entered the gates, and I finally saw what the headquarters of the rchant guild looks like.
The inside was adorned with nurous high-profile elents as if it was a mansion. The most intriguing thing that I learned is that there are nurous rooms that have different styles as well. They made the rooms fashioned in the decoration for each continent as so deals were made with foreign emissaries.
The other things that I learned is that the rchant guild has a system where they can know if a rchant died. It is a secret room that has small replicas of the continents, and it is like a GPS system. They can only know the coordinates based on the rchant guild ID but that is still incredibly advanced. This technology actually ca from the Kingdom of Gnos, and it is a project collaborated with the rchant guild but only the main guild has this.
"I can feel their stares and it is not subtle." Piggy Bank stated with a bit of nervousness.
"Just act like they are custors, and you will forget about it." I ssaged which made Piggy Bank look more confident.
I swear that I will never think that this guy is a rchant from the first glance as he has the aura of a reliable big brother. The fact that he is a great rchant despite that aura ans he has the talent to discern things and also the confidence to back it up. We imdiately arrived at the front desk as no one seed to want to bother us as we have High Wizard Dore with us.
"I will notify all of the high officials." One of the clerks stated as she vanished from my view as she entered the back room.
"So far, so good." I thought but it was too premature.
"You have the audacity to even co here in person." A young-looking man in adorned clothes stated as he pointed to Piggy Bank.
"Sir Peterson! That is not a way to greet a branch leader. Your rank is lower than Avalon Branch Leader Piggy Bank." High Wizard Dore stated loudly for all to hear, and murmurs could be heard all around.
"Why do you defend this fiend! He is the reason why grandfather is dead!" Peterson stated as I could see he is very overwheld by emotion.
I could see from the way the young man speaks and his emotional aura that he is not being manipulated. This is what he is genuinely feeling, and he is now lashing out because he saw the target of the accusations even if there was no evidence as of yet. I can also feel the emotion of this chunky friend of mine as his sadness washed over the mont he saw the young man.
"I am truly sorry for your loss, Sir Peterson. I truly am but I am not the one that killed your grandfather. I have been in Avalon this entire ti when I received the accusation letter. I was even there when the initial investigators arrive. I was heavily monitored the entire ti this unfortunate thing happened." Piggy Bank replied.
"Heavily monitored? All of the investigators that ca to gather evidence from you are now suffering from strange illnesses that can only be called described as a curse. Even priests cannot treat them as of now because they can only be alleviated from the pain." A woman that has eastern continent clothing stated as she had others behind her that looked strong. "Please keep those assumptions to yourself, Lady Goldenclaw." High Wizard Dore warned.
