Adrian was about to cleanse his hands off with what is about to happen next since he already got what he ca for but seeing Hanu beg him made him rethink his decisions. Just as the goddess before him has said, he already did his job which ant that he no longer has any jurisdiction to stop them from pursuing Hanu. The only problem is that the one that is trying to be claid by the goddess is now groveling at his feet.
It is not just Hanu that is trying to earn his sympathy but also Safed. The cute white monkey is looking at Adrian with its teary eyes. Those eyes are sothing that no one can easily resist. Adrian wanted to ignore the pleading Hanu and Safed but he knows that they cannot escape with how weakened they are.
"I am the reason why they are weakened right now and that his monkey beast companions are still out cold. If I just leave them be then they are basically preys to these power-hungry beings." Adrian thought.
"Why do you need the demi human when he no longer has what you want?" Adrian asked as he is curious why they need Hanu when the thing that they want from him is no longer there.
"I believe that my business is also sothing that the diator does not need to know since you also did not give an answer on what happened with the divine spark. It is best that we keep our businesses between ourselves so that there are no future problems." The goddess stated but the warnings in her words are evident as if telling Adrian to back off and not pry too much.
"If that is the case then I should get so compensation for rendering them incapable to escape. You should give sothing since I just made your jobs a lot easier. It would be unfair to when I basically did the work for you. This is now outside the fact of my official duties when I retrieved that soul fragnt." Adrian stated with the most straight-faced look that would render anyone speechless.
Adrian’s words stunned the crowd of hunters before him and even the goddess that has cobacks could not find a way out of the logic that he gave. What Adrian told them is the absolute truth after all since he basically did their work for him. If he did not weaken Hanu and the monkey beasts, their entire squad of hunters would be in a confrontation of the other group.
In fact, Adrian can easily say that so of these hunters would definitely die at the hands of Hanu and the monkey beasts. If all of these hunters were at the level of Nukeela then they might be able to take Hanu without them having casualties but they are not at the sa level. The fact that even the goddess which employed them sneaked in with them ans that they are not trustworthy.
"This is not fair, diator. You already got the divine spark and now you are preventing us from getting the boy." The goddess argued with unfairness since she could not think of an excuse.
"What is unfair? I did all the work in weakening them and even capturing them if you think about it. If you want to have them then compensate for it. If you do not compensate then I will be forced to fight all of you and I have not moved as much as I wanted. Having fairly decent opponents will definitely sharpen the weapons that I have gotten." Adrian stated as his grin slipped when he thought of fighting enemies that are basically war freaks.
Adrian’s real personality slipped for a mont as his battle junkie side is blazing. He is actually trying to taunt the hunters in attacking him so that he has moving targets to use his armants on. The goddess noticed the slight change in the face of the diator and suddenly felt that her head would be separated from her body. Even if she knows that she has the hunters, these punks would definitely escape if they were at a disadvantage.
"If it is compensation then what does the diator want?" The goddess asked as she might be able to give sothing to Adrian.
"I do not know but you best make it good. Tell , what compensation is equal to his life?" Adrian asked a question that made the goddess stutter.
The goddess is not a fool to answer lightly because the being before her is the diator of Death. If she answered that Hanu’s life is not precious then she would be seen as a goddess that takes life lightly. Even gods are afraid of karmic retribution from the gods of life and death as they can impose sanctions on divine beings that treat life lightly. The karmic retribution is not instant but it can drive a god or goddess to madness.
"You are placing in a difficult spot once again, diator. You are not being impartial which is already a breach of your duties." The goddess argued.
"If all of you arrived when I was already gone then we would not even be having this argunt. The fact that you showed yourselves despite sensing my presence ans all of you have ill intent. All of you should be grateful that I did not kill all of you as soon as you appeared." Adrian stated as he felt the bloodlust and killing intent directed at him as soon as these hunters arrived.
"Tch! I already told these buffoons to wait and check first. It is my oversight to hire these dimwits just because I am greedy for that divine spark. I am not the only goddess that wants it but leaving without getting sothing is not sothing I can stand." The goddess thought as a pristine pearl shell suddenly dropped before her.
"Take it and leave. If you do, then I will forget everything that transpired here." Adrian stated as he pulled sothing slightly precious out from his inventory.
