"Wow…"

Daniel's mouth hung open, stunned by the sheer list of abilities floating before him.

He had not expected this.

Looking at the abilities again, Daniel finally understood what his uncle ant when he said he would "deal with the obstacle."

He hadn't expected his uncle to kill a God of Death—much less devour it—and then casually use that power to boost him like it was no big deal. It seed his uncle was truly a big shot in the universe.

And the abilities… they weren't flashy or explosive, but they were lethal. Silent. Absolute.

But two abilities stood out—

Immortality Dominion and Resurrection Claim.

Those… those he liked more than anything else.

Daniel's eyes softened.

Now he didn't have to worry about Evelyn growing old while he stayed young.

She could walk beside him for as long as he lived.

A sudden cry snapped him out of his thoughts.

"Daniel!"

Evelyn rushed in from the corridor, breathless and frantic, sand scattering as she sprinted across the stone floor.

She leapt into his arms without hesitation, and Daniel caught her automatically, lifting her slightly as she wrapped her arms around his neck.

"Nothing happened to you, right?" she demanded, pulling back just enough to check his face. "There was this strange black smoke and then—nothing! We couldn't see you at all. I thought—" Her voice cracked slightly.

Daniel placed a steady hand on her back.

"Nothing happened," he assured her calmly. "Really. Everything's fine."

Which, thankfully, was mostly true.

And even better—none of them had seen the black hole swallow half the chamber.

Less explaining for him. He'd already dealt with enough uncle-related, multiverse-flavored nonsense for one day, and he was in no mood to try explaining any of it.

Before Evelyn could say more, a deep, rolling tremor shook the entire pyramid. Dust rained down from above. Cracks shot across the walls like lightning.

Daniel shifted Evelyn to her feet. "It seems it's ti for this adventure to end."

Jonathan blinked at him. "So… is this the 'running for our lives' part?"

"Yes, Jonathan," Daniel said, smiling.

***

Like that, the trip to Ahm Shere ca to an end.

They parted ways with Ardeth, and Evelyn and Jonathan returned to England with Daniel.

Two weeks later, inside the quiet mansion, Daniel finished explaining everything that happened after they lost sight of him in the chamber.

Jonathan and Evelyn stared at him with identical blank expressions—confused, overwheld, and not understanding even half of what he just said.

Jonathan blinked slowly. "So… your uncle is a god?"

He said it like it was the most ridiculous sentence he had ever spoken in his life.

He could accept mummies—he saw those.

He could accept curses—he nearly died from one.

But Daniel's uncle being a god?

That seed to exceed the allowed nonsense level of his brain.

Evelyn frowned slightly. "Dear… are you sure you're explaining this correctly? Because it sounds…"

"Insane?" Jonathan finished for her. "Absurd? Completely impossible?"

Daniel let out a long breath. "I know how it sounds. But it's the truth."

Jonathan pointed at him, squinting. "So let get this straight: you're telling us your uncle—your actual uncle—is so sort of divine being?"

"Sothing like that," Daniel said.

Jonathan stared at him for a full three seconds.

"So does that make you divine too?" Jonathan asked, equal parts horrified and fascinated. "Like—what's the math here? If the uncle is a god, what does that make the nephew?"

Daniel shrugged lightly. "Well… I'll leave that to your imagination."

He honestly didn't know how to answer. He wasn't exactly human anymore, but he wasn't ready to label himself either.

"Well, it's sowhat believable. It's the closest explanation for your powers," said Evy, as she felt this could explain Daniel's abilities; if he was sohow related to a god, then it would make sense why he could do such things.

Jonathan's eyes lit up with the worst possible kind of curiosity.

"So… does that an I can directly pray to your uncle and get my wishes granted?"

Daniel stared at him. One minute Jonathan was suspicious; the next he was ready to start a new religion.

"Um… I don't think he'll listen," Daniel said honestly.

Jonathan looked disappointed—briefly.

"But," Daniel added, "if you want, I can give you sothing."

Before either of them could ask, he snapped his fingers.

A faint shimr of energy enveloped Evelyn and Jonathan, glowing softly before fading a mont later.

They both gasped, startled.

"What… what was that?!" Jonathan demanded, patting his chest as if expecting wings to sprout.

"Nothing bad," Daniel assured them. "I gave you both eternal life. Well—immortality, technically. And there's sothing else too. I can also travel between wor—"

He didn't finish.

Both Evelyn and Jonathan exploded into shouts at the sa ti.

"Eternal life?!"

"You WHAT?!"

Their voices echoed through the mansion, a mix of shock, disbelief, and the realization that they had just been casually handed sothing humans chased for thousands of years.

Daniel rubbed the back of his neck, wincing.

Maybe he should have eased into that explanation.

***

Like that, it was finally ti for Daniel to travel to the next world.

The system activated, space twisted—

—and imdiately, things went wrong.

"WHY THE HELL DID THE PORTAL OPEN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SKY?!" Daniel shouted as he plumted downward. "SCREW YOU, UNCLE!"

Wind roared in his ears, the world spinning as he tumbled helplessly through open air.

The portal snapped shut above him like it had never existed, leaving him free-falling with no explanation.

Below him, the world ca into focus.

A sprawling port city sat along a bright blue coastline, ships with tall masts swaying in the harbor.

Stone fortifications, cannons, and soldiers in red coats patrolled the docks.

Colonial-era architecture.

It was unmistakably the Caribbean during the golden age of piracy.

Daniel flailed midair. "UNCLE, I HOPE YOU STEP ON A LEGO!"
