This monster's reaction made Kevin hesitate to put away his blade, a feeling he had never experienced before.
Kevin's sword had never encountered anything like this before. He had been in nurous intense battles, but this was the first ti his blade had co into contact with thick, sticky green blood.
Even the giant, clumsy Mountain Monsters and the ancient, peculiar Tree Spirits bled red. This green blood seems not to originate from this world.
While Kevin didn't know much about the Alternate World, he had heard so things from Arnold and Kuren. However, these pieces of hearsay were not enough to form a worldview of the Alternate World. I just can't understand these mystical matters.
The only thing I can trust is my sword, so I can't possibly sheath it now.
Though the Freak had been sliced into pieces, Kevin knew it wasn't completely destroyed. He knew his blade would never lie to him; the feedback it gave after every strike was always accurate.
This Freak is tricky; I can't afford to be careless.
Kevin intently watched the dismbered Freak. The chunks of flesh and bone that fell onto the ground were highly toxic, corroding everything around them and giving off thick green smoke. The nauseating sll quickly spread, replacing the beauty of Moonflow Stream with a hideous, repugnant sight.
Kevin couldn't stand by and let this continue. Every corner of Guru Mountain was their ho, and he wouldn't tolerate any violation. This pollution is horrendous! I can't allow them to go on like this!
At this mont, both Wizard Reed and Milo were in shock. They had never imagined that they would encounter such a situation during a battle. In their minds, such an event was completely contrary to the norm.
Milo couldn't believe that the Freak was split apart so quickly. It was hard to imagine. He hadn't even found an opportunity for his Exchange Beast to approach. It wasn't normal for Kevin, a League Guard, to so easily slash the Freak apart.
Wizard Reed hadn't expected that the Freak he summoned would be so easily defeated. This was almost a waste of his Power of Darkness. Had sothing gone wrong with my spell, or is there another explanation? This phenonon shouldn't have happened.
Only Kevin, who had directly fought the Freak, knew it wasn't as simple as it seed. It can't have been so easily dismantled by .
Kevin continued to observe silently, his grip on his sword unwavering, even though the Freak appeared completely destroyed.
Everyone was watching the Freak, surprised that a creature that had caused such mayhem was subdued so quickly; it didn't make sense.
Wizard Reed felt like he had been dealt a huge blow. His Dark Force had been wasted, but he could still feel the spell at work, even though the summoned Freak lay dismbered on the ground.
Green smoke continuously rose into the air, the putrid sll spreading throughout Moonflow Stream, polluting the beautiful scenery.
Kevin had been waiting for a while, but there was still no movent from the broken pieces of the Freak. He began to doubt whether there was sothing wrong with the feedback from his sword. If it's taking this long without any movent, does that an the Freak has completely fallen apart?
Unlike Milo, who could send out several Exchange Beast ants to scout, Kevin had to approach the opponent himself to uncover any hidden sches. These were the differences between close combat and ranged combat.
But Kevin couldn't just sit idly; he had to do sothing. It didn't seem wise to rashly approach the Freak, and standing still didn't feel right either. I hate situations like this! Not knowing whether to advance or retreat... My brain isn't big enough for all this thinking!
At that mont, he really missed Xiso. When Xiso was around, I didn't have to worry about anything; I just had to swing my sword... Unfortunately, Xiso was currently preoccupied with another matter and couldn't be there.
Without Xiso around, Kevin had to rely on himself. He knew Milo from the Alchemy Workshop was nearby, but he wanted nothing to do with them. Even though they currently fought on the sa side, enemies were ultimately still enemies. He wouldn't forgive the Alchemy Workshop, part of Kuyi Tulan's forces, just because they montarily shared a common foe.
So, with so reluctance, he decided to act on his own. He polished his blade and charged forward. I need to see what this Freak is really made of!
The extent of the corrosion on the ground distressed Kevin. Moonflow Stream was his favorite place, and seeing it devastated like this filled him with an overwhelming urge to dice the Freak into even more pieces. I can never forgive this!
Pieces! Yes, I'll slice this Freak into even more fragnts!
Kevin moved quickly, his speed when one with his blade unmatched. Even Simon, with his Devil's Steps, would have to yield to Kevin. His sword was incredibly quick, almost unbearably so.
However, when Kevin's blade struck the Freak's dismbered body again, a potent wave of Corrosive Mist billowed out to et him.
This Corrosive Mist is odd. It's as if the Freak was waiting for prey to fall into its trap before releasing it...
So this Freak can set traps! Kevin was taken aback. He quickly used his blade to shield his entire body—he was the blade, the blade was him. In an instant, his spinning form turned sharply before the Freak, but he was still struck by the Freak's green Corrosive Mist.
Kevin retreated. His sword was corroded around the edge. One more heavy hit, and it would be ruined.
The Freak seems to have suddenly gained intelligence—it can even set traps! That gushing green Corrosive Mist wasn't accidental; it was deliberate!
Kevin set about repairing his sword. He dared not repeat his previous rash actions. Even though the Freak appeared to be nothing more than chunks of at, it still possessed powerful offensive abilities.
Dealing with this Corrosive Mist was already proving difficult for Kevin.
Thankfully, it was my blade that got stained with that green gas. I don't even want to imagine what would have happened if it had touched instead.
What in the world is this Freak? How is its Corrosive Mist so strong? It managed to severely corrode even my blade! Kevin's mind was in chaos, but he had to stay calm. The enemy hadn't been eliminated yet, and he needed to prepare for another attack.
