Doflamingo clicked his tongue again. "Caesar Clown once ntioned that there's a genius scientist whose wisdom is at least 500 years ahead of current technology, and he already solved how to add Devil Fruit powers to inanimate objects, such as swords and guns."
"However, this thod is not perfect, because the objects can only be imbued with Zoan-type Devil Fruits. Among the three types of Devil Fruits, the Zoan-type seems to harbor so kind of will."

"I said just now that Dr. Vegapunk's thod can only allow inanimate objects to carry the power of Zoan-type Devil Fruits, and they cannot be developed further. Unless it's an Ancient or Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit—which are rarer than Logia-types—it will have little impact."

Among them, the captain was the Float-Float Fruit user; the "World's Worst Devil Fruit Users" were a combination of the Rumble-Rumble Fruit, Fla-Fla Fruit, and Munch-Munch Fruit; and the other two mbers were the Devil Child, Nico Robin, with the Flower-Flower Fruit, and the Horo Horo no Mi user.
Including Violet and Monet, both Devil Fruit users, all mbers of the Flying Pirates were Devil Fruit users.
If there was no accident, they should possess an Ancient or Mythical Zoan-type Devil Fruit. El clearly didn't know what to do with it, so when he read Doflamingo's mories and learned that, a month ago, the genius scientist on Mary Geoise's side had unlocked the conditions to allow inanimate objects to carry Devil Fruit abilities, he was willing to pay with a favor to obtain this material and thod, even though there were flaws in weapon Devil Fruits. Not only did it not dispel his idea, but it strengthened his resolve.

Four years ago, in the year 1511 of the Sea Circle Calendar, El's first famous sword, the Sandai Kitetsu, was lost in the Kingdom of Alabasta.
The reason for the loss was that El confird the Munch-Munch Fruit had the ability to create weapon Devil Fruits. At that ti, El had a hypothesis.
If he could find material capable of carrying the power of a Devil Fruit, then rge that material into an inanimate object, and then have Carina use her Devil Fruit ability, they might be able to create a weapon Devil Fruit.
It wouldn't just be Zoan-type; Paracia and Logia-type Devil Fruits could also be used.
Dr. Vegapunk could only implant the power of Zoan-type Devil Fruits into inanimate objects because they were inhabited by a will.
But who said that Paracia and Logia-type Devil Fruits were not also inhabited by a will?
Among the three Devil Fruit types, the Paracia-type Gum-Gum Fruit—also known as the Human-Human Fruit, Model: Nika—is especially unique. After awakening, it gains the ability to transform into a Mythical Zoan-type Devil Fruit and also affect surrounding objects beyond the user's body.
Nika was likely a fighter from ancient tis, and it's very probable that he was also human—the previous user who developed the Gum-Gum Fruit to its extre and nad it after himself.
If the Gum-Gum Fruit truly hosts Nika's will, then it ans that after a Devil Fruit is eaten by humans or animals, these Devil Fruits retain the will of their previous user. The stronger the person, the greater the will that remains within the Devil Fruit.
Thus, El only needed to prevent the Devil Fruit from reincarnating elsewhere when he killed the previous user—or have Carina take it with her Munch-Munch Fruit—and instead have the Devil Fruit, bearing the previous user's will, inhabit the material capable of carrying that will. Then it might not be impossible to create weapon Devil Fruits with Logia and Paracia-type abilities.
It was this idea that made El decide to give it a shot, and he nad this plan "Double Devil Fruit Abilities."
