"Fla Wall!"
Boom!
As Nami's clear shout rang out, a circular wall of flas suddenly roared up around Arlong Park.
Creating such a huge wall of fire in one breath drained almost all of Nami's stamina, but the effect was just as trendous. The blazing ring sealed off the gate of Arlong Park and cut off the escape route through the pool that connected directly to the sea.
In an instant, Arlong Park turned into a sealed volcano of heat and light.
Inside the wall of flas, the Arlong Pirates—led by Arlong and his three officers—stared at the fire-wreathed Nami. The arrogance they usually wore on their faces had completely vanished, replaced by naked fear.
Even Arlong himself, as he looked at Nami, saw the figure that haunted his nightmares—the overwhelming terror that woke him up drenched in cold sweat. He let out an incredulous roar:
"You've only been gone for half a year—how did you beco a Logia-type Devil Fruit user?!"
Of everyone in the East Blue, no one understood the power and absurdity of a Logia user better than Arlong, who had once sailed the Grand Line.
He had been one of the pirates personally arrested by Kizaru and thrown into Impel Down.
The power of the Pika Pika no Mi was still a living nightmare to Arlong.
Without Armant Haki or Sea Stone weapons, and unless a fishman could fight with water itself, there was simply no way to touch a Logia user's true body—let alone defeat them.
Now, in front of him, the girl he had enslaved and toyed with was wrapped in flas as a Logia user.
At this mont, Arlong wished he could go back in ti six months and kill his past self—the one who greedily forced Nami to join the crew and made that contract of 100 million Belly. He shouldn't have coveted her talent. He should have strangled the "little girl" on the spot.
But this world doesn't have "what if."
Arlong never imagined that in the weakest sea, the East Blue, there would be an unclaid Logia-type Devil Fruit. And of all people, it ended up in the hands of the girl who hated him to the bone.
With the pool's surface now covered by Nami's flas, the Arlong Pirates had only two options left:
Beg.
Or burn.
"Nothing's impossible, Arlong. Prepare to die."
Facing the enemy responsible for all her suffering, Nami's face twisted with hatred.
Her adoptive mother had been shot dead a little more than half a year ago. Before she t El—and before he slowly untied the knot in her heart with almost pampering warmth—Nami had relived that scene in her dreams countless nights.
Her hatred for Arlong was at its absolute peak.
"...Run! My fellow fishn, break through that wall of fire and dive into the sea!"
Arlong suddenly shouted,
"She's a Logia now—you can't hurt her at all! Fighting her is just aningless sacrifice!"
"Big Brother Arlong…"
"Listen to Big Brother Arlong, let's escape!"
The other fishn stared blankly at the utterly terrified Arlong. The "fearless ruler" of Cocoyasi Village was panicking.
Only his three officers still managed to keep their heads.
"You guys get out first—we'll buy you ti!"
Kuroobi, ranked 40 in Fishman Karate, grabbed a nearby beach chair and kicked it at Nami like a cannonball.
Boom—!
But Nami simply swept her arm. From her wrist, flas surged out, swallowing the flying chair and burning it to ash before it could even reach her.
By then, the other fishn had already begun sprinting toward different parts of the flaming ring.Behind that searing wall lay the pool that connected to the open sea.
If they could just break through the fire and survive, they could dive into the ocean, douse the flas, and escape into the depths where no one could follow.
Even if the ra ra no Mi was a powerful Logia fruit, at Nami's current level she still couldn't boil the sea itself.
If they reached the ocean, they would live.
"Don't even think about it!"
Nami's cold shout rang out.
At her will, the flas around Arlong Park surged. The fire created from her stamina was still hers to command within a certain radius.
The wall of fla she'd erected with almost all her strength wasn't just there to block their path.
It was her stage.
Under her control, multiple huge fireballs tore free from the blazing ring and scread down toward the charging fishn.
"Ahhhh—!!"
Each fireball exploded into a sea of fire, engulfing the fishn where they stood.Their miserable screams echoed across Arlong Park as their bodies burned and collapsed.
"Big Brother Arlong, save —!!"
Hearing the dying howls of his crew, Arlong stared at Nami with bloodshot eyes and scread, "Nami—!!"
"Don't be in such a hurry, Arlong." Nami, half her body shrouded in fla, walked toward him step by step. "You'll beco grilled fish just like them."
As her footsteps approached, several more fireballs erupted from the towering wall of fla behind her, streaking toward Arlong and his three officers.
Arlong instinctively backpedaled.
When his back hit solid wall and there was nowhere left to retreat, he finally roared in desperation:
"All together! At her age, creating sothing this big is already her limit! As long as she attacks, she'll expose an opening—that's when we turn the tables!"
He thrust out his hand, condensing a fist-sized water sphere, and hurled it at Nami.
Following his lead, Kuroobi also condensed a water ball and launched it at her.
"Water Cannon!"
At the sa ti, Chew spat out a high-pressure jet of water straight at Nami.
"Fla Mirror."
Boom!
In the face of all three attacks, Nami simply swept her hand, unleashing a torrent of flas that t the water head-on.
The water evaporated in an instant, exploding into a cloud of steam.
Through that rising steam, the fireballs born from the wall of fla slamd precisely into the three officers, swallowing them whole and igniting a new sea of fire.
"Ahhhh—!!"
Hatchan, Chew, and Kuroobi rolled and scread in the flas, just like their comrades before them. Their voices shredded what remained of Arlong's courage.
With just one move, Nami annihilated all three officers of the Arlong Pirates.
Watching from the side, El slowly removed his hand from the hilt of his sword.
It seed he had still underestimated the power of a Logia Devil Fruit.
Unless you were assassinating soone in their sleep, attacking a Logia user like Nami with this level of water manipulation was aningless.
Water beats fire—but only when there's enough water.
Otherwise, it's the fire that evaporates the water.
Their attacks simply didn't have the strength to overco Nami's flas.
With their last hope of hurting Nami snuffed out, the only fate left for the Arlong Pirates was to be slaughtered.
One by one, under Nami's control, the flas swept across Arlong Park. Every last fishman was swallowed by fire and left as nothing but blackened "grilled fish."
Soon, only Arlong remained.
During that ti, he tried multiple water attacks against Nami. At first, she casually blocked them with waves of fla. Later, she didn't even bother to raise her hand—she simply let the fire coating her body defend her on its own.
Before any of Arlong's attacks could even get close, they were vaporized by the heat surrounding her.
By now, Arlong's body had been wrung dry of water. He collapsed onto the ground, staring blankly at the charred corpses of his crew—fishn who had tried to turn the tide, only to be crushed by Nami's overwhelming power.
His current despair stood in stark contrast to the arrogance he'd worn while ruling Cocoyasi Village.
Looking at the broken Arlong, Nami curled her lip in disgust.
"Bell-re was killed… by trash like you."
"Repent in the sea of fire, filthy fishman."
Nami raised her small, fla-wreathed hand and slashed it downward.
Instantly, as if drawn by magnets, a portion of the flas clinging to the towering wall tore free and gathered together—condensing into multiple massive fireballs that rained down from all directions, completely engulfing Arlong…
…and Nami herself.
"AAAAAAHHHH—!!"
Arlong's scream echoed through Arlong Park as the sea of fire swallowed him whole.
