In summary, the empire ruled by the Clan of D. had beco corrupt. The Twenty Kings rebelled, overthrew the empire, and then carried out brutal suppression and mass slaughter across the world, while also attempting to eradicate the D. clan entirely.
In the end, only the royal family of Alabasta refused to move to Mariejois out of guilt. The other nineteen kings settled atop the Red Line, calling themselves the "Creators," and their descendants beca what the world now knows as the Celestial Dragons.
