The fire dragon snapped and clawed through the air, forming a devastating attack that seed ready to swallow Ulti whole.
The black wings on Ulti's back snapped open and split the fire dragon clean in two in an instant.
"This guy... is no ordinary opponent." Ulti murmured, his gaze sharpening with genuine focus.
Yet Sarutobi Hiruzen was the one under the greatest pressure of all.
He had already co to a clear realization that Ulti was likely the strongest of the three opponents he faced.
Ulti's speed, strength, and everything else made him feel utterly outmatched.
"This level of power has already gone beyond Kage-tier, it has reached the level of a Super Kage." Sarutobi Hiruzen frowned, quietly assessing Ulti's strength in his mind.
As the foremost of the Beasts Pirates' Three Disasters, Ulti's power had long since approached the Yonko tier.
Though an unbridgeable gulf still separated him from Kaido, his strength remained imnse.
Sarutobi Hiruzen estimated that with his current power alone, defeating Ulti was all but impossible.
'Should I use the power of Haki?' Sarutobi Hiruzen turned the thought over in his mind.
He quickly dismissed it, however.
Although he had managed to grasp the basics of Haki in a short ti, compared to a powerhouse of Ulti's caliber, his Haki was still far too unrefined.
Forcing it into use would more likely put him at an even greater disadvantage.
"It seems I can only rely on ninjutsu and tactics to hold on." Sarutobi Hiruzen drew a deep breath, steadied himself quickly, and ford hand seals once more.
"Earth Release, Earth-Style Wall!"
A thick wall of earth rose from the ground and positioned itself in front of Sarutobi Hiruzen.
The wall was split in two in an instant, shattered debris scattering in every direction.
"Defenses of that level are useless against ."
Ulti said coldly, his figure appearing at Sarutobi Hiruzen's side like a phantom, wings sweeping down in a fierce slash.
Sarutobi Hiruzen retreated swiftly and narrowly avoided the strike.
Ulti's assault did not stop, however, as his wings lashed out again and again like a raging storm, each blow carrying lethal force.
"Wind Release, Vacuum Serial Waves!"
Sarutobi Hiruzen rapidly ford hand seals and released several razor-sharp wind blades, trying to blunt Ulti's offensive.
Ulti's wings swept casually and scattered every wind blade apart.
"Pointless. Your attacks an nothing to !" Ulti's voice carried a trace of mockery as his figure bore down on Sarutobi Hiruzen once more.
Faced with Ulti's relentless assault, Sarutobi Hiruzen was completely on the back foot, forced to keep retreating and barely avoiding each blow.
'Damn it... is there truly no way?'
A flash of unwillingness crossed Sarutobi Hiruzen's heart.
He was the Third Hokage, a man who had once stood at the pinnacle of the Ninja World, yet here in this unfamiliar world, he was being suppressed by a pirate without any room to fight back.
'Perhaps... I could try that technique.'
Sarutobi Hiruzen's eyes suddenly hardened with resolve.
"Shadow Clone Technique!"
In an instant, several clones of Sarutobi Hiruzen appeared across the battlefield, surrounding Ulti on all sides, each one rapidly forming hand seals and releasing a different ninjutsu.
Fire Release, Wind Release, Earth Release, Lightning Release, Water Release, five elental ninjutsu were unleashed simultaneously at Ulti, and the entire battlefield was flooded in an instant with blinding light.
A flicker of surprise crossed Ulti's eyes, and the wings on his back snapped fully open, forming a black barrier in an attempt to withstand the ferocious barrage.
Boom!
A deafening explosion rang out, and dust and smoke blanketed the entire battlefield, Ulti's black barrier shuddering continuously under the impact of the ninjutsu before finally being shattered by force.
Ulti's body was struck by the residual shockwave, blood spilling from the corner of his mouth, and scorch marks appeared across his wings.
"I got careless..." Ulti murmured quietly, his voice carrying a trace of self-reproach.
He admitted it: he had underestimated Sarutobi Hiruzen's strength.
This old man had actually been able to unleash a technique that powerful, and had even managed to wound him.
However, Ulti's gaze quickly turned ice-cold, and as he slowly rose to his feet, his presence surged sharply, like a great beast that had been roused to fury.
"You are a powerful opponent, but now... I will fight seriously."
His body began to change, black scales surfacing across his skin, the wings on his back growing far larger, and his entire being radiating a suffocating pressure.
Ulti had entered his hybrid form, his most powerful state.
Whoosh!
Ulti's figure vanished in an instant, and in the next mont he had already appeared directly in front of Sarutobi Hiruzen.
His blade ca crashing down with devastating, overwhelming force.
Sarutobi Hiruzen rapidly ford hand seals and tried to defend with Earth Release, but Ulti's attack was simply too fast, and he had no ti to react.
Crash!
Sarutobi Hiruzen's body took the blade head-on and was sent flying.
Yet because he existed as an Impure World Reincarnation body, his wounds quickly began to close and his body gradually restored itself.
Ulti's brow furrowed slightly, and a look of puzzlent crossed his eyes.
"This guy... a strange body?" he muttered under his breath. "Could it be so kind of Devil Fruit ability?"
Ulti did not stop his assault, however.
His figure vanished again and he lunged at Sarutobi Hiruzen with full force.
Sarutobi Hiruzen rapidly ford hand seals and called out in a low voice, "Water Release, Water Encampnt Wall!"
A massive wall of water rose up from the ground and positioned itself in front of Ulti.
Sarutobi Hiruzen had already noted that Ulti appeared to be able to use flas, and so he chose Water Release to counter him.
However, a cold smile crept onto the corner of Ulti's mouth.
He raised his hand, and a ball of scorching fla condensed in his palm.
"Flaming Emperor!"
Ulti called out in a low voice and hurled the fireball, which struck the Water Encampnt Wall directly.
At the instant of impact, the wall of water was evaporated entirely and dissipated as re vapor without a trace.
"What?" A flash of shock crossed Sarutobi Hiruzen's eyes, as he had not expected Ulti's flas to be so powerful that not even Water Release could hold against them.
The fireball continued on toward Sarutobi Hiruzen and struck his body directly.
The scorching flas instantly dissolved part of his Impure World Reincarnation body, forcing a muffled groan from Sarutobi Hiruzen.
'These flas... can actually damage an Impure World Reincarnation body?!' Sarutobi Hiruzen's heart lurched with shock, and he fell back quickly, his hands constantly forming seals and releasing more Water Release ninjutsu.
"Water Release, Water Dragon Projectile!"
"Water Release, Water Shock Wave!"
A stream of Water Release ninjutsu was released one after another, and at last the flas on his body were suppressed.
Though the Impure World Reincarnation body could regenerate, the process was significantly slower than before.
Sarutobi Hiruzen's expression was grave.
He understood that the enemy before him was even more powerful than he had imagined, and that Ulti's flas could even inflict damage on an Impure World Reincarnation body.
"It seems... I have no choice but to give everything I have." Sarutobi Hiruzen murmured quietly, his hands forming seals once more.
Ulti, however, gave Sarutobi Hiruzen no such opportunity.
His figure vanished again, reappearing behind Sarutobi Hiruzen in an instant, blade sweeping down with full force.
"It is over."
Ulti's voice rang out like a pronouncent from the god of death, and in the next mont, Sarutobi Hiruzen's body would be torn completely apart.
