That evening, Marco's transponder snail rang.
Without hesitation, he answered. From the other end ca the familiar voice of Vegapunk.
"Marco, it's , Vegapunk."
Hearing his voice, Marco felt a trace of relief. He had genuinely worried the doctor might have disappeared. He let out a light laugh.
"It seems you haven't forgotten our agreent, Doctor."
Vegapunk caught the faint dissatisfaction in Marco's tone and replied seriously.
"I didn't have much of a choice. I'm currently with the Revolutionary Army, and for now, I'm relatively safe. By the way, I saw in the newspaper that Egghead Island was destroyed by a buster call. Is that true?"
Marco confird calmly, "Yes, but it wasn't a Buster Call. It was destroyed by Uranus."
"What? Uranus?" Vegapunk's voice rose sharply. "Are you referring to the ancient weapon Uranus?"
"That's right," Marco replied. "But there's no need to worry about it anymore. I already destroyed it."
"You destroyed it?" Vegapunk stuttered in disbelief. "You're saying you destroyed Uranus?"
He found it difficult to process. An ancient weapon, sothing from the Void Century, had been eliminated just like that.
While Vegapunk was still reeling, Marco continued, his tone carrying a slight edge.
"You seed quite concerned about Egghead Island, Doctor. After we drove back the God's Knights and the Gorosei, we intended to help you relocate your equipnt. Unfortunately, Uranus arrived too quickly, and we suffered heavy losses."
He paused briefly before continuing.
"But that doesn't matter. As long as you're alive, that's enough. Where are you now? I'll send soone to bring you back."
Vegapunk, still shaken, asked again, "Marco, did you truly destroy Uranus?"
Marco let out a faint scoff.
"Why would I lie about sothing like that?"
"It's just… unbelievable," Vegapunk said, his excitent rising. "Tell , what exactly happened? If Uranus was destroyed, does any wreckage remain on Egghead Island?"
"No," Marco answered. "There's nothing left. Once I destroyed its energy core, Uranus self-destructed. The explosion engulfed the entire island, which is why our alliance suffered such heavy losses."
"I see…" Vegapunk muttered, his mind racing. "You ntioned an energy core. That would be the central power source of Uranus, correct?"
"Exactly," Marco replied. "Coincidentally, I have a similar energy core that needs recharging. You can study it when we et."
"You possess such a thing?" Vegapunk sounded genuinely puzzled.
Marco continued, "Do you rember the giant ancient robot on Egghead Island?"
"Of course."
"That robot is called Et. It was a companion of Joy Boy eight hundred years ago. During my battle against Imu, I accidentally activated it. In the end, it protected my crew by generating an energy barrier, but it exhausted its last reserve of power."
Vegapunk's excitent surged.
"It could still be activated? I studied it for years and believed it had completely run out of energy. How did you manage that?"
Marco's patience began to wear thin.
"We can discuss that later. Where are you now?"
Vegapunk quickly responded, "I'm currently at..."
"Wait a mont, Vegapunk. Let speak with him."
A middle-aged man's voice interrupted.
Vegapunk nodded. "Hold on, Dragon wants to talk to you."
He handed over the transponder snail, whose expression shifted into that of Monkey D. Dragon.
"Hello. I am Dragon, leader of the Revolutionary Army."
Marco's expression turned cold. The man who had always remained distant in the original story now stood directly before him, and Marco felt no goodwill toward him.
"The leader of the Revolutionary Army, your reputation is well known. What business do you have with ?"
Dragon's tone remained steady.
"I've heard from Vegapunk that your alliance seeks to overthrow the World Governnt. That aligns with our own objective."
Marco replied bluntly, "And? Are you proposing cooperation, or are you trying to use Vegapunk as leverage?"
"Neither," Dragon said calmly. "This is a proposal for cooperation."
Marco's hostility eased slightly.
"Cooperation is possible. But let make one thing clear. Vegapunk is a mber of the Phoenix Pirates. If you intend to control him, I will not allow it."
Dragon answered without hesitation.
"You have my word. Vegapunk is an old friend. I will not endanger him, nor will I restrict his freedom."
He continued, "I reached out through him because I believe our forces should work together."
Marco considered this briefly before responding.
"If it's cooperation, then we welco it. But matters of this scale are better discussed face to face. So things cannot be settled over a transponder snail."
Dragon agreed.
"I understand. Inform Kaido and Big Mom. We will discuss the details when we et."
