Drum Island
"Heeee hee hee hee! Looks like a tornado passed through here! They're pretty lively, huh?", Dra. Kureha asks with a smile, watching the three run out of the room while leaving a huge ss in their wake.
"Yeah! The whole crew is like that!", Nami says with a smile, hearing the three causing chaos from a distance.
"Well, anyway! Look at this here, Kestia, treacherous little insect, lives in warm and humid environnts, mostly tropical forests, it's poisonous, when it stings soone it causes an infection, it takes five days for it to spread throughout the body, causing continuous agony to the host, fever above 40°C, muscular, neurological, and encephalic infection, and blah blah blah! The thing is, it's simple to treat a Kestia sting, so simple that this little bug was extinct a long ti ago! It's rare to find soone stung by Kestia, so rare that as ti passed, fewer and fewer dical books talked about this insect! And so, sothing simple to treat has beco almost impossible to cure nowadays! Now, how the hell did you all get stung by Kestia? The only places where it's still common to find this little shit today are on prehistoric islands", sitting down on Nami's bed, Dra. Kureha lifts the navigator's shirt, showing the insect sting on her rib, explaining where their illness ca from before curiously asking.
"So...", Nami begins, unsure of how to explain things. Around her, the girls had expressions similar to hers, scratching their heads while whistling.
"Wait, seriously? But even so, how were you guys walking? Naked?", Dra. Kureha asks, surprised that they had actually been on a prehistoric island.
"So, no! We weren't fully covered, but in compensation, we used like three bottles of insect repellent each. We used a lot of repellent, this wasn't supposed to happen", Nami says, scratching the back of her neck, having no idea how this could've happened.
"Well! You were extrely unlucky and lucky in my view!", Dra. Kureha says, raising her eyebrows, impressed by how unlucky and lucky these girls were at the sa ti.
"What do you an?", Vivi asks, confused.
"Well! Unlucky because of the sting, even though you all had taken precautions! And lucky because this infection is known as 'the five-day disease', by the appearance of the skin around the stings, it looks like three days have passed since the stings, which ans we're on the fourth day! One more day without treatnt and you wouldn't feel anything anymore! Heee hee hee hee! Got it? Did you guys like my little joke? You wouldn't feel anything because after five days, you'd be dead! Heeee hee hee hee!", Dra. Kureha explains with a smile, laughing loudly at her joke, even though the girls didn't find it funny at all; on the contrary, they felt a chill run down their bones when they realized they were one day away from feeling the sweet embrace of death.
"…Shit...", Nojiko exclaims, stunned, having a hard ti believing how close they were to death.
"Well, your fever has gone down, but you guys are still not fully healed, so stay lying down and rest!", Dra. Kureha says, going from bed to bed, pushing the girls' heads back to the warm embrace of the soft pillows.
"Thank you so much for taking care of us, but we're kind of in a hurry, our ti is short! So if our fever is already going down, it ans we can manage from here, right? Besides, Kaya there is also a doctor, she can take care of us, not to ntion that we're going to kidnap Chopper too", Nami asks, trying to argue with Dra. Kureha about an early discharge, whispering about kidnapping Chopper at the end of her sentence.
"You're underestimating this illness! It usually takes around ten days to fully recover. Your luck is that my dicine is among the best in the world; you guys only needed three days! And no, dear Kaya here is not enough to take care of you! No offense, child, but you don't strike as soone who's studied dicine for more than a month", Dra. Kureha says, boasting about her dicine before denying their discharge request, turning to Kaya and accurately guessing how long she's been studying dicine.
"No offense taken on my part, Dra! It really has been less than a month since I started studying dicine", Kaya says with a gentle smile on her face.
"Are you a witch or sothing? What kind of magic did you, an old lady of this age, use to know how long Kaya's been studying dicine?", Nojiko asks incredulously, because, holy fucking shit, it's humanly impossible for soone to know with such precision how long a person has been studying a subject, and just by looking! One look and she already knew. That's impossible, right? Right?
"Bammm!"
"First of all, don't call 'old lady', old lady is your mother, that old wrinkly woman! Second of all, I'm not a witch, I'm just a young lady of one hundred and thirty-nine years, in the pri of my youth. It's not my fault I'm so good at my profession that I get mistaken for a witch!", Dra. Kureha says with a smile, delivering a punch to Nojiko's head and blowing the smoke off her fist.
"Ouchh! Helloooo? I'm the sick one here, you should be taking care of , not punching , are you trying to kill ?", Nojiko asks indignantly, rubbing the painful bump on her head.
"Relax, kid! You're not going to die as long as I'm here!", Dra. Kureha says with a playful smile on her face.
"Wait, three days is still a lot, I already told you, we don't have ti to wait, we need to get to...", Nami sits up hurriedly, trying to argue, only to be interrupted by Dra. Kureha, who takes a scalpel out of her pocket and points it at all the girls.
"I don't care if you're in a hurry or not, whether it's an ergency or not, the only way a patient leaves my care is by fully recovering or in a coffin. If you really want to risk your lives, I can very well finish the job the disease started! So, what's it going to be? Do you want to kill yourselves or are you going to act like good kids and rest for three more days?", Dra. Kureha says with a sinister smile, trying to put so sense into these dumb girls' heads.
"Three days!", Vivi says hurriedly, wanting to get to Alabasta alive.
"I choose the three days!", Kaya says innocently, after all, she understands that it was better to fully recover in those three days than to leave in a hurry, still sick.
"Three days sounds good to , right Nami?", Nojiko says, agreeing just for the sake of it.
"Yeah, three days, what can we do, right?", Nami comnts with a resigned sigh.
"Good! Now lie down and rest, I'll go separate those three troublemakers!", Dra. Kureha nods before turning around and leaving the room, going to stop Luffy and Sanji from bothering Chopper.
"Alright, guys! The plan is the following... actually, I don't have a plan, well, I don't have a plan yet! The only thing that crossed my mind until now is, let's kidnap Chopper and get out of here as fast as possible", Nami says as soon as she realizes Dra. Kureha has moved far enough away.
"h! Sounds like as good a plan as any made by our Captain", Nojiko says, shrugging. It sounded like a plan straight out of their Captain's hollow mind.
"Uhnn, that's not exactly a complint, sis!", Nami says, not sure if that was supposed to be a complint or not, actually, it sounded a bit offensive. I an, she loves Luffy with all her heart, and he has his monts of brilliance, but he's not exactly the sharpest tool in the shed, the poor thing's kind of a dummy, and that's okay, it's part of his charm.
And while the girls rested, chatting casually among themselves, none of them noticed a red light signal rising into the sky outside, shining brightly as it reached its peak, a call for help, a warning.
=Scene Break=
Returning a few hours back in ti, far from any village, in a large clearing in the middle of the dense forest, were Zoro, Chouchou, and Sabo.
"I think this place is good enough, far from any village, no one to interrupt our fight", Zoro, who by so miracle had managed to get there without getting lost, says, finding the spot good enough for his training to take place peacefully.
"So, how do you guys want to do this? One at a ti? Everyone against everyone? What's it gonna be?", Sabo asks as he takes off and tosses aside his overcoat, mask, and tal pipe, rolling up the sleeves of his blue dress shirt before kicking his tal pipe into the air, catching the weapon midair, ready to start the fight.
"You said once you were as strong as Luffy, right?", Zoro asks as he ties his bandana on his forehead.
"Yes, but if you guys want, I can hold back a bit to be a fair fight!", Sabo says with a smile on his face.
"Woof woof woof? Woof woof woof! Woof woof, woof woof, woof woof!" "Are you fucking kidding ? Fair fight is my retractable cock! If you don't co at us with everything you've got, in the first chance I get, I'll piss in your face while you sleep!", Chouchou barks indignantly, thinking that Sabo was making fun of them.
"That's right, Kiddo! Here's the deal, Sabo! and Chouchou will team up to fight you, so stop talking shit and co at us full force, without holding back", Zoro, having no idea what Chouchou just said but being sure the feeling was mutual, says firmly, unsheathing his three swords. He wanted to catch up to Luffy, didn't want to fall behind, so he needed to train to exhaustion. With Sabo here, he could push his limits.
Entering into his full Zoan form, a giant white wolf, easily twenty ters tall, rises above the treetops, its massive body tearing off and crushing trees around it. Chouchou wanted to be as strong as Luffy, wanted to relieve his friend's burdens, be strong enough to protect all of his companions, his family, his pack.
"Alright! If that's what you guys want, let's see what you're made of!", Sabo says with a grin before disappearing from where he stood, the initial sonic boom of his movent ripping a huge number of trees behind him.
By the ti Zoro's mind processes the machine gun of sonic booms that was Sabo in motion, looking like a mass of plasma being propelled through an electron collider, the revolutionary was already on top of him, delivering a flying kick to him.
The most Zoro can do before being sent flying like an uncontrolled missile is cross his swords; he doesn't even manage to coat them with Haki before being struck.
Nearly bursting the muscles in his arms and hands just to keep holding his swords, Zoro's body crashes through tree after tree, tearing through them as if he were a hot knife cutting through a block of butter.
Zoro's body easily left a trail of destruction several kiloters long before he was able to stop his montum.
With his body covered in bruises, sweating profusely, and a predatory grin creeping onto his face, Zoro lets out an excited laugh before disappearing from where he stood, sonic booms and trees shaking from the air pressure caused by his movent following his trail.
Back to when Zoro was sent flying away, Sabo easily dodges a giant paw that was trying to slice him in half, positioning himself right beneath Chouchou, which gives him the perfect opportunity to strike.
And that's exactly what he does. As Chouchou tries to move off the revolutionary, already knowing what was coming, Sabo shot upward, delivering a powerful ascending blow with his tal pipe to the giant wolf's belly, sending Chouchou flying horizontally into the air, his titanic body devastating a large swath of the forest before rising above the trees, shooting off like a missile.
"Haha! You guys asked for this, now deal with it!", Sabo laughs, preparing for what cos next.
anwhile, in the air, Chouchou uses Geppo to return to the ground, forming a gigantic crater with his impact before then disappearing from where he was using Soru, sonic booms following his titanic form, his speed at so point distorting the air around him, setting it ablaze, making him look like a mass of plasma moving through space at supersonic speed.
Appearing in front of Sabo, Chouchou delivers a powerful attack with one of his front paws while barking "Woof woof" "Supersonic Titan-Cut", opening four cuts of kiloter-long proportions in the ground as his paw smashes the spot where Sabo should have been.
Easily dodging to the side, Sabo, not even needing to look, feels, through his Observation Haki, Zoro, already at his side, attacking him with his three swords.
"Still too slow, Buddy!", Sabo mutters, slightly adjusting before jumping, passing over Zoro, doing a backflip while holding onto his top hat so it doesn't fly off, landing perfectly behind the swordsman.
What follows after that initial clash are a good few hours of uninterrupted beatdown, with Zoro and Chouchou breaking through their own limits with every passing second.
And even though they were getting stronger by the second, it didn't change the fact that they were getting absolutely beaten by Sabo. Up until that mont, they hadn't managed to land a single hit on the revolutionary.
And then, in the present ti, when Sabo was about to strike Zoro's completely bruised face with his tal pipe, his attention shifts to a red light signal rising high into the sky.
Seeing Sabo stop his attack at the last second, Zoro and Chouchou also stop, looking confused at the revolutionary.
"Why did you stop?", Zoro asks, confused, pushing the tal pipe away from his face with one hand.
"That signal in the sky, it looks like a distress signal", Sabo says, pointing to the red light still rising high into the sky.
"Hmm, looks like sothing Usopp would do", Zoro says, looking at the signal in the sky.
"Woof woof woof woof woof woof?" "Do you think sothing happened to them?", Chouchou asks, furrowing his brow.
"I don't know, let's see!", Zoro says before disappearing from where he was, with Sabo and Chouchou following his example.
