Grand Line – Paradise
Whisky Peak
As the rry sailed upstream, people on both sides of the river began noticing the pirate ship approaching.
"Hey, that is—", a person starts to speak, drawing the attention of those nearby to rry.
"It's a pirate ship", another comnted, speaking over the first.
anwhile, on the rry, Sanji, hearing people talking from a distance, comnted, "Hmm? I can hear people talking, but there's this annoying fog that's keeping from seeing anything."
"Yeah, there's easily about two hundred people there, and they don't seem to have good intentions", Zoro comnted after using Observation Haki to sense if there were any living beings on the island.
"Phew, at least they're not monsters, but it's understandable that they'd be hostile toward pirates; they're probably traumatized", Usopp said, less anxious after also using Observation Haki to verify what Zoro had said.
"Don't be fooled", Sabo interjected, joining the conversation.
"What do you an?", Usopp asked, confused.
"They really are pirates! Notify the others! They're pirates!", one of the people shouts to those around them.
"Pirates are coming!!", Several people began shouting from both sides of the river.
"GREETINGS, BRAVE AND HONORED PIRATES!! WELCO TO THE GRAND LINE AND TO OUR HOSPITABLE CITY, WHISKY PEAK!!!", the crowd of people gathered on both sides of the river shouts, welcoming the Straw Hats.
"Huh? Why do they give off a hostile vibe even though they seem happy about our arrival?", Usopp asks, growing even more confused.
"As I said, don't be fooled. During the conversation I had with Luffy's dad when we arrived at Twin Capes, he reminded about an… let's say… terrorist... organization of bounty hunters called Baroque Works, which has significant influence here in the initial region of Paradise. One of their bases is here in Whisky Peak. When I found out we were coming here and that those two were from this place, I decided to wait for them to leave before bringing it up", Sabo says, explaining the whole situation.
"Now I see why the way those two introduced themselves seed familiar to , so they were part of that organization, huh?", Zoro comnts, piecing things together and figuring out why the na Mr. 9 sounded so familiar to him.
"So, all these people are bounty hunters? What do we do now? Fight them?", Usopp asked, observing the huge crowd of people, seemingly cheerful and happy about their presence, now becoming visible as the fog cleared.
"Just go with the flow, man. Let's see what these guys are up to", Luffy said, eager to watch a bunch of fools thinking they're clever.
"Watching a bunch of people think they're clever when they're actually just idiots entertaining us? Okay, that sounds fun", Nami said, wondering if it was a good idea or not.
"Alright then, guys, just go with the flow and pretend you're falling for their nonsense", Luffy said, rubbing his hands together like a cartoon villain.
"Long live to the heroes of the sea!!!", The crowd kept shouting as the rry approached the riverbank to dock.
"Look at all these beauties!!!", Sanji exclaims sowhat automatically upon seeing a bunch of beautiful won, only to realize in the next mont that Nojiko was standing right next to him.
He then starts trying to explain himself, as he didn't want to ruin his chances with Nojiko, "I an, I was just pretending, logically, I'm a changed man, I only have eyes for one woman."
Nojiko just snorts amusent, raising an eyebrow, thinking it was even cute how hard Sanji was trying to contain his own impulses in order to not ss things up and so impress her.
rry then docks on the riverbanks while the Straw Hats pretend all along to be enjoying the people's fake appreciation.
Disembarking from the ship, the Straw Hats and Sabo face a middle-aged man with yellowish hair that looked more like one of those curled wigs that ancient aristocrats and judges used to wear.
"Bwahaha... ahem... Ma-ma-ma-ma-maaaaaaa! Welco, brave heroes, my na is Igarappoi, the mayor of Whisky Peak. It seems we've surprised you. Know that Whisky Peak is a very prosperous city, known for its liquor and music. We take pride in being hospitable, and we have great appreciation for the spirit of travelers. So how about a welco party to Grand Line? That way, you could tell us about your adventures up until... ahem... Ma-ma-maaaa! Until now, how about it?", the man with hair resembling a wig, now known as Igarappoi, asks, coughing occasionally.
"I like the wig, old man, my na is Monkey D. Luffy and I never say no to free food!", Luffy says, dragging Usopp, who had just shrunk the rry, storing it in his pouch and, surprising the entire crowd that witnessed the scene, along with Sanji and Sabo, while Chouchou and Zoro followed behind them.
"I can't let any thirsty bitch get near Usopp", Kaya murmured, following behind them.
"Do you think they're still acting?", Nojiko askes, whispering in her sister's ear.
"Let's hope so", Nami says, letting out an exasperated sigh before turning to Igarappoi and asking, "Excuse , but could you tell how long it usually takes for a Log Pose to register the next island?"
"Register? Please, put your worries aside for now. I'm sure it's been a long and exhausting journey, and you guys deserve a rest. Celebrate today, and worry about that tomorrow. Today is a day for a party", Igarappoi says, guiding Nami and Nojiko, who had stayed behind, along with the rest of the Straw Hats to a bar.
In the distance, perched on one of the cactus rocks, a large vulture and a small otter, injured and exhaling smoke, watch from afar. What? It is still unknown.
=Scene Break=
As the night went on and the party continued without stopping, Usopp, seeming a bit drunk, kept telling his story, which clearly happened, and anyone who says otherwise is lying. "...and then, I calmly said, 'Hey, you damn Sea Kings, take your dirty paws off my friends, or you'll have to deal with , got it?'"
"Oh, Captain Usopp, you're so brave!", the womans listening to him said, sounding infatuated.
"Take your fucking ugly eyes off him, you horny bitches!!", Kaya growls, full of jealousy, protecting her man while sipping from a beer mug and petting Chouchou, who was lying in her lap and seed to be already asleep after stuffing himself with food.
anwhile, at the bar counter, Luffy, looking like a balloon from all the food he had eaten, bangs a large mug on the counter, shouting, "More, I'm still starving!!!"
"This kid's a bottomless pit. He's already eaten enough to feed about forty people, and he still wants more? At this rate, he's going to eat all the food on the island", one of the people shouted, looking a bit worried, only to fall on deaf ears.
While Luffy stuffed himself with food, Nami and Zoro stuffed themselves with drinks, participating in a competition, worth one hundred thousand Berries, which Zoro was forced to join by Nami, but it's not like he would refuse a drink either.
In another corner, Sanji found himself surrounded by beautiful won, giving his all to contain himself. "Ladies, ladies, unfortunately, I'm committed, so if you'll excuse ," he says, getting up and leaving when he notices Nojiko sitting at the bar counter, pretending to drink from a glass.
And unnoticed by everyone, Sabo, quietly in a corner, pretended to drink from a cup while observing the entire situation.
If anyone were actually paying attention, they'd notice that he was wearing a mask, never taking it off, and therefore not drinking anything.
