Arriving at Little Garden
After another two days of travel, the Straw Hat Pirates, along with Sabo, Vivi, and Karoo, finally reach their destination.
In the distance, on the horizon, an island was already visible, Little Garden to be more specific.
"That's it! This is our next island after Whisky Peak! Right ahead", Nami comnts, looking through her Log Pose, which was pointing directly to the island ahead.
"We won't waste ti then, let's go there, everyone!", Luffy exclaims excitedly, pointing at the island in the distance.
And while rry enters Little Garden, following for a river, Vivi comnts, "We better stay alert. From what Miss All-Sunday said, I think what I've heard about this island is true then."
"What do you an?", Nami asks, confused.
Blushing and then averting her gaze from Nami, Vivi responds, "Well, there's this famous book called Brag n, and Little Garden is ntioned in it."
"Brag n? 'n Who Brag', why that na?", Nojiko asks, curious.
Although she finds Vivi's behavior strange, Nami ignores this and comnts, "Brag n, I think I've already read this book... wait, isn't it that book with a compendium of various accounts from past explorers?"
"Yes, it's this book, hmm, it's called that because for most of the world, these accounts are just fanciful tales, but the Grand Line is much crazier than these people even imagine. Little Garden is ntioned in the account of an explorer nad Louis Arnote, he ntions that the island's flora and fauna are frozen in ti, and for the people living here, the island is just a small garden, and that's why he decided to call it Little Garden, the island of the Giants", Vivi says, elaborating and ntioning what else she knew about Little Garden and the book Brag n.
[Fun fact: did you know that this Louis Arnote was probably inspired by a Jesuit priest of the sa na ntioned in a book called 'History of Brazil', which is considered the most extensive historical work on Colonial Brazil?
Another fun fact, there's a popular theory that Laugh Tale might be inspired by the myth of the island Brasil, also known as Hy-Brasil, a ghost island that appears on dieval European maps and in Celtic lore. It was said to be hidden by a dense fog and would appear every seven years, erging from beneath the sea, and this myth might also be related to the origin of the country's na, as the wood (Pau Brasil) that gave the country its na may have been nad this way because of this myth. This island is also referenced in an old movie called Erik, the Viking. If you're curious, look into it later, it's really interesting, especially when you correlate this with One Piece. And rember, Oda once said that if Luffy had a real-world nationality, he would be Brazilian.]
"Giants, seriously?", Zoro asks, raising an eyebrow.
"Frozen in ti?", Sanji asks, raising an eyebrow just like Zoro.
As soon as they ask these questions, a loud sound of so creature screaming catches everyone's attention, "Gyaaaaaaaaaaaa!"
"What's that?", Nami asks, looking at the creature that just scread, flying in the sky in the distance.
"Wow, a flying lizard!", Luffy exclaims, looking more and more excited.
And then, another loud sound is heard, but this ti it didn't seem to be coming from any animal, "Bummmmmmmm!"
"That's the sound of a volcano erupting, right?", Kaya asks, in doubt.
"Shit! And here I was thinking that, from the na, this island would be peaceful. There's nothing of peaceful or small in this place", Usopp comnts, trembling with fear as he watches a saber-toothed tiger dismbering and tearing another animal in half with its sharp teeth, only to suddenly be dragged into the dense forest by sothing, followed by a scream of pain echoing through the environnt shortly after.
"Giants! An island frozen in ti! Sanji! Prepare the pirate snack! I can sll the adventure!", To those watching, Luffy looked like a child who had just eaten a ton of sugar and then sniffed about fifteen lines of cocaine of how excited and hyped up he was.
"Pirate snack?", Sanji asks, confused.
"Yes! Hurry up, I want to see giants!", Luffy says, rushing Sanji.
"Wait a second, Luffy, what do you think you're doing?", Nami asks, worried.
"Going on an adventure! Wanna co?", Luffy asks, with a huge smile on his face.
'There's no stopping him! He's too excited!', Nami thinks, feeling how hyped Luffy seems before answering, "Fine, I don't want to be alone here on rry, it's safer to go with you."
'Are we a joke to you?', everyone thinks as they hear what Nami said.
"Alright, but put on plenty of repellent. Who else wants to co with us? Vivi? WHERE'S MY PIRATE SNACK, SANJI? HURRY UP!", Luffy says, taking the opportunity to ask if anyone else wanted to join them before suddenly turning toward the kitchen and shouting at Sanji.
"CALM DOWN, DAMN IT!", Sanji shouts from inside the kitchen.
"Eh, okay... alright, I'll go, but Karoo is coming along", Vivi responds to Luffy, her face completely flushed for so unknown reason.
"Quaaaaaaaaaaaa-" "I'm going?", Karoo, completely dumbfounded and horrified, begins to scream in confusion, losing his voice midway.
"He's so surprised he went mute", Nami comnts, raising her eyebrows.
"Woof woof!" "I also want to go!", Chouchou barks excitedly, wanting to join.
"Oh, I'll make a pirate snack for you too, Miss Vivi and Miss Nami!", Sanji says while handing a package to Luffy.
"Thanks, Sanji! Everyone, use lots of repellent, Captain's orders!", Luffy says, once again telling everyone to use repellent.
"Hey, Sanji! Can you make a pirate snack and a drink for Karoo too?", Vivi then takes the opportunity, as Sanji hasn't returned to the kitchen yet, to ask.
"Make one for Chouchou too!", Luffy says, very eager and wanting to go right away.
"Sure, no problem!", Sanji says before going back into the kitchen.
After Sanji prepares so more pirate snacks and everyone applies plenty of repellent, without wasting a second, Luffy dashes into the dense jungle with a huge smile on his face, with Nami, Vivi, Karoo, and Chouchou following right behind him.
"We'll be back soon, guys!", Nami says, saying goodbye to the rest of the Straw Hats.
"Vivi is really brave, huh?", Kaya comnts while watching Luffy's group enter the jungle.
"I'd say everyone in that group is just crazy", Usopp responds to his girlfriend, crossing his arms.
"So, what do we do? Wait in the rry?", Nojiko asks, uncertain.
"I don't know about you guys, but I'm going for a walk", Zoro says, already getting off the ship.
"Hey, vomit hair! Wait up!", Sanji says, calling Zoro.
"Hmm? What, noodle hair? Spit it out already", Zoro asks, not in the mood to talk with this idiot.
"Our at is running low, you know how much the Captain eats, so if you find any animal that looks edible, kill it and bring it here", Sanji asks, after taking a drag from his cigarette.
"Alright, chimney, leave it to , I'll hunt a bigger one than you'll ever be able to hunt in your whole life", Zoro says, turning and starting to walk away.
"Wait, what the fuck did you just say? I don't think I heard you right, because I'm almost sure I heard you say you can hunt an animal bigger than I ever could", Sanji asks, with a vein popping out of his forehead.
"No, actually your hearing is pretty good, this is exactly what I said, any problem with that, piss hair?", Zoro asks, in a mocking way.
"Yeah, yeah, I have a problem with that", Sanji says, irritated.
"So, what are you going to do about it then? Idiot", Zoro asks, with a smug smile on his face.
"Oh, I'll do sothing about it, a hunting duel! Whoever hunts the biggest beast wins", Sanji says, challenging Zoro.
"Alright, you're going to lose anyway", Zoro says, shrugging before entering the forest.
"I think it's just us left, huh?", Nojiko says, crossing her arms.
"These guys are a bit strange", Sabo comnts, watching the two walk away.
"Crazy, we're surrounded by crazy people. Why did they all think it was a good idea to enter an island with giants?", Usopp asks, trembling in fear.
"Relax, Usopp, weren't you the one who admires the giants and dreams of finding one? Especially now that we've discovered giants are real", Kaya asks, stroking the back of Usopp.
"I... yeah, you're right, why would I be afraid of the giants if I admire them?", Usopp says, trying to compose himself.
