The rmaid Princess standing before Aether instantly drew his attention. She possessed a natural, almost ethereal presence, the kind of beauty that felt unreal. However, her size was striking, nearly comparable to an average giant.
Shirahoshi had long, flowing pink curly hair, decorated with a taiyaki-shaped ornant. Shell-shaped earrings rested against her cheeks, and her bright blue eyes complented her delicate, youthful face, still carrying a trace of baby fat. Her upper body was soft and full, while her lower half was a pink fish tail with alternating shades.
In the original accounts, Shirahoshi was said to rival Boa Hancock in beauty. At her current age, she had not yet grown into that mature charm. Instead, her appearance leaned toward innocence, with a gentle softness that made others instinctively want to protect her.
Aether quickly restrained his gaze, keeping his composure. No matter how striking she was, she was still young, and he had no interest in acting improperly.
Still clinging to her father, Shirahoshi soon noticed the unfamiliar presence. Having spent so long confined within her chamber, she felt both nervous and curious.
A human, just like the ones she had only read about.
"Father, is this gentleman a human? How should I address him?"
Before Neptune could speak, Aether introduced himself with a relaxed smile.
"I am Aether, a friend of your father. You can call Aether, Lord Aether, or Brother Aether. Brother Aether sounds the most natural."
Shirahoshi hesitated for a mont, then softly replied.
"Then... I will call you Brother Aether. My na is Shirahoshi."
Neptune's expression stiffened slightly, clearly unsure how to react. Aether ignored it completely. By his own standards, he was not old enough to be addressed as anything else.
The conversation soon shifted as Aether began sharing stories of the sea. His tone remained light and engaging, naturally drawing Shirahoshi in. Her earlier nervousness faded, replaced by curiosity and excitent.
Seeing this, Neptune quietly excused himself, leaving the two alone. With Aether present, there was no need to worry about her safety.
Inside the chamber, Shirahoshi eagerly arranged food and drinks, setting up what looked like a small tea gathering. The portions were enormous from Aether's perspective, which amused him slightly.
Ti passed as Aether continued speaking. His stories flowed smoothly, occasionally interrupted by Shirahoshi's soft gasps or questions.
He spoke of sky islands that floated like dreams, of lands filled with powerful beasts, and of islands that burned endlessly. Each tale painted a vivid picture of the world beyond.
Shirahoshi listened intently, resting her chin on her hands, her eyes filled with longing. Since the age of six, she had been unable to leave her chamber. Even Fish-Man Island itself was mostly unknown to her.
Curiosity ca naturally at her age, and Aether's stories only made that desire stronger.
At that mont, a system notification echoed in his mind.
SSS-rank character Shirahoshi, Poseidon, has developed positive emotions toward the host. Initial friendliness achieved. Reward, 200,000 experience points.
Aether paused slightly.
SSS-rank.
This was the first ti he had encountered such a classification. He had assud Shirahoshi would be at most SS-rank. Now, her importance beca even clearer.
If this continued, the potential gains would be significant.
Shirahoshi noticed him stopping and gently nudged him with her finger, her cheeks puffed slightly in impatience.
"Brother Aether, why did you stop? I still want to hear what happened to the Shiki."
Aether stepped closer and lightly tapped her nose, his expression playful.
"We can continue that story later. Right now, sothing more important matters. You want to go outside, don't you?"
Shirahoshi blinked, clearly surprised.
"Is that really allowed, Brother Aether?"
Her uncertain expression made Aether chuckle softly. He reached out and lightly pinched her cheek, the soft texture making him pause for a mont.
"Don't worry. I'm strong enough to handle it. Co on, let's take a walk."
"Mm... alright."
With his reassurance, Shirahoshi finally agreed. Calling over her pet shark, galo, she slowly left the room. At first, her movents were hesitant, but as nothing happened, her fear faded, replaced by excitent.
The two moved through Fish-Man Island together, looking around and trying different foods. Shirahoshi's reactions made it clear how little she had experienced.
Not far away, Fukaboshi watched quietly, concern visible on his face. Still, he followed Neptune's orders and did not interfere.
As they walked, Aether's gaze suddenly sharpened.
From a distance, a weapon shot forward at high speed, aid directly at Shirahoshi.
It was the ability of the Mark-Mark Fruit, allowing its user to strike any marked target with perfect accuracy.
The one responsible was Vander Decken IX.
To maintain his ability to target Shirahoshi, he had not washed the hand that touched her for years.
Even thinking about it was unpleasant.
