Off to the side, Will's eyes lit up as he watched the scene unfold.
From Karina's current form, it was obvious—she was far from weak now.
He imdiately called out a reminder:
"Karina, quick—try out the abilities your hybrid form gives you. See if they match what the guidebook said."
"Okay!" Karina nodded excitedly, trying to suppress the thrill bubbling inside her.
She then spread her arms, eyes sharp with focus, and called out in a clear voice, "Flas!"
Whoosh—!
The mont the words left her mouth, a pair of bluish-purple flas suddenly erupted from her hands.
The flas looked almost seductive in color, yet fierce in nature.
The heat radiating from them was so intense that the nearby snowflakes instantly lted before they could land.
Thick white steam began to waft through the air.
"Amazing!"
Nami's eyes sparkled as she instinctively stepped closer to get a better look.
Will observed with a thoughtful gaze.
Then suddenly, he extended his right hand and reached for Karina's fla-covered hands.
"Watch out!"
Both Nami and Karina cried out in alarm, startled by his sudden move.
But before Karina could even withdraw the flas, Will had already clasped her delicate, flaming hands in his own.
What happened next was... bizarre.
The fire dancing on Karina's hands seed to completely lose its heat—it didn't harm Will's hands at all.
"What's going on?!"
Karina was too stunned to pull her flas back. Wide-eyed, she asked in disbelief.
Will didn't answer right away. Instead, he continued holding her hands, carefully sensing sothing with the Armant Haki wrapped around his skin.
After a few seconds, he slowly let go and nodded with a slight smile.
"Not bad. Feels kinda warm."
"Uh..."
Karina's face twitched at his casual tone, montarily wondering if there was sothing wrong with her Devil Fruit ability.
Nami, however, asked the question they were both thinking:
"Will, you haven't told us yet—what just happened? Why didn't the fire burn your hands at all?"
Will, who hadn't planned to keep anything from them, explained patiently:
"That's because I was using Armant Haki to shield my hands."
"It's a special ability you can gain through training."
"With it, you can more or less stand up to Devil Fruit users."
"And if you reach a certain level—like I have—you can even beco immune to most Devil Fruit attacks."
"Take Karina's flas, for example."
"They can't get past my Armant Haki, so naturally, they can't hurt ."
"Armant Haki..." Karina murmured, her brows furrowing in confusion. "But I didn't see anything on your hands. Where exactly is it?"
Will wasn't surprised by the question and answered seriously:
"Normally, Armant Haki surrounds the surface of the body, but it's invisible to the naked eye."
"It only becos visible when you harden it."
"Like this."
As he spoke, he raised his left hand. A mont later, a dark, inky substance rapidly coated his arm.
"This is Armant Haki," he said.
Karina and Nami leaned in with wide eyes, completely fascinated as they inspected the hardened coating.
Then Nami suddenly rembered sothing Karina had said earlier about Haki.
She quickly asked, "So besides Armant Haki, there are two other types, right? Like Observation Haki?"
Will looked a little surprised, but then glanced at Karina and imdiately understood.
He nodded and replied, "That's right. Besides Armant Haki, there's also Observation Haki and Conqueror's Haki."
"Of the three, Conqueror's Haki is innate—you either have it or you don't. You can't develop it through training."
"But the other two can be learned through hard work and practice."
"Of course, talent plays a big part. Without it, you could train for a lifeti and still never awaken Haki."
As he spoke, Will turned to look at Nami with a thoughtful expression, his tone suddenly more serious.
"Take you, for example. You're able to sense changes in the weather through your skin, right?"
"That's an incredibly rare sensory talent."
"You've probably only ever used it for navigation."
"But I believe that sa gift makes you perfect for learning Observation Haki."
"Really?!"
Nami was completely stunned. She pointed at herself in disbelief.
"You're saying I would be good at using Observation Haki?!"
"Absolutely," Will said without hesitation, nodding. "Observation Haki is all about sharpening the five senses—so much so that you gain a sixth one."
"With it, you can sense the presence and movent of everything within a certain range."
"To put it another way, it's the 'power of listening.'"
"Every living being gives off a certain 'sound.'"
"By tuning in to those subtle sounds, you can predict your opponent's next move, even where they'll strike."
"So people can even sense emotions—or instinctively dodge incoming danger."
"But one thing's crucial: to use Observation Haki, you must stay calm."
"If you lose your temper or panic, you won't be able to use it."
"The sound of life... the power of listening... subtle vibrations..."
Flooded with so much new knowledge at once, Nami slowly sat down in a nearby chair, falling into deep thought.
She clearly needed a mont to process it all.
Will didn't disturb her. He turned to Karina and said:
"Alright, let's keep testing what your hybrid form can do."
"Mm." Karina nodded earnestly.
After a series of trials, she gradually beca more comfortable with her new abilities.
Aside from her hands, she could also release and control fire from her feet and the two long tails trailing behind her.
She could breathe streams of intense fla or fireballs from her mouth, allowing her to attack from range.
She could even unleash sharp wind blades from her clawed fingertips with a high-speed swipe, slicing targets from afar.
On top of all that, her agility, reflexes, flexibility, and movent speed had all received a significant boost.
And with her hands, feet, and twin whip-like tails able to coordinate attacks together, she'd have a major edge in close combat.
For long-range combat, her wind blades and fla attacks gave her plenty of options.
A perfect balance of close and ranged offense.
