Scrapyard Island, Water 7
Discarded ship materials lay scattered everywhere. The salty sea breeze drifted slowly through the wreckage.
But today the island was filled with people lying all over the ground.
Each of them was filthy and exhausted, sleeping wherever they collapsed.
Among them were Iceburg and Franky. Their hands were covered in sawdust and oil, dark circles hung under their eyes, and they lay beside the ship gasping for breath—too tired even to wipe the sweat from their faces.
Soon, the Straw Hat crew arrived.
"Franky! Iceburg!"
Luffy ran toward them and waved happily.
"Oh! You finally made it," Franky said, dark circles under his eyes but still grinning with excitent.
The Straw Hats looked toward the seaside where two massive ships were covered by large curtains.
"About the Going rry," Franky began, grabbing the smaller curtain.
"I didn't change much. I just reinforced her keel and strengthened the hull using the leftover Treasure Tree Adam wood."
He pulled the curtain down.
"Whoa!!"
Everyone's eyes sparkled.
"rry!"
Usopp rushed over, touching the ship affectionately from every angle.
"So what about this one?" Robin asked, pointing to the other curtain—ten tis larger than the rry.
Franky struck a dramatic pose, arms raised high.
"This is my masterpiece!"
"This ship can cross any ocean!"
"If you want to reach the end of your dreams, this is the perfect vessel!"
With a flourish, he pulled down the curtain.
A massive two-masted ship appeared.
Its bow was shaped like a yellow lion's head. The white sails bore the emblem of the Straw Hat Pirates.
A lookout tower stood on the foremast.
Along the sides were sliding ports for the Soldier Dock System.
At the stern were the asurent room and the muzzle of the Gaon Cannon.
The entire design was unique—both beautiful and functional.
"WOW!!"
Luffy and Chopper's eyes practically exploded with excitent.
The ship looked similar to the original Thousand Sunny, but it was five tis larger.
Everyone climbed aboard.
Luffy rolled around on a lawn the size of a basketball court.
Sanji ran everywhere searching for the kitchen.
Chopper swung happily on a swing.
Zoro stood at the deck, gazing out toward the distant sea.
"There's even a locked refrigerator and a giant grill!"
"Franky, thank you so much!" Sanji shouted from the kitchen.
"Hahaha! Of course! This is the dream ship I built with my own hands!" Franky said proudly.
Usopp climbed down from the rry and looked at Franky.
"So… what happens to the rry?"
"So easy!"
Franky walked to the control panel and turned a switch.
A hatch on the lion ship opened.
"We just store her inside the dock!"
Usopp quickly guided the Going rry into the ship's dock system.
"Alright, Luffy—we're ready to sail," Nami said, looking at the Log Pose in her hand.
Then she glanced at Luffy rolling around on the grass and stood with her hands on her hips.
Luffy suddenly hugged the fluffy Chopper and laughed.
"No rush!"
Then he looked toward the shore and beca serious.
"No matter what, Franky should say goodbye first."
Everyone paused and looked toward the coast.
A large group of n dressed in black with star emblems on their chests had gathered.
The Franky Family.
"Boss! Take care of yourself!!" they shouted with tears in their eyes.
"Zambai… everyone…" Franky cried uncontrollably.
mories resurfaced.
Back then, they were starving street punks.
Franky had gathered them and created the Franky Family, giving them a new life.
"Will you guys be okay without ?" Franky asked worriedly.
Just then—
Luffy suddenly stood up and placed his straw hat on the grass.
"You guys finish saying goodbye."
"My grandpa is coming to catch us. I'll buy you so ti."
Before anyone could react—
Only blue lightning arcs remained where Luffy stood.
anwhile — Water 7 Coast
A massive dog-headed Marine warship was docked nearby.
Garp and his Marines were searching the city.
Suddenly a Marine ran up.
"We found Straw Hat! They're at Scrapyard Island on the southeast coast! They're about to depart!"
Garp crossed his arms.
"All units aboard. We're heading there imdiately."
Suddenly—
A flash of blue lightning appeared nearby.
"Grandpa! Didn't you say you wouldn't arrest ?"
Luffy stood on top of a nearby building scratching his head.
"Sorry, Luffy," Garp replied.
"For certain reasons… I have to capture you."
His fist suddenly appeared in front of Luffy's nose.
BOOM!
A massive shockwave blasted out, destroying a mountain over a kiloter away.
"Grandpa, you're really going all out."
Luffy turned into lightning and appeared behind him.
Their fists collided.
BANG!
Luffy was blasted backward.
Garp stepped through the air with a sonic boom and chased him.
"Luffy! Just surrender!"
"Fist of Love!"
"Grandpa, if you're getting serious—don't bla !"
Luffy stretched his arm into the sky.
Dark clouds gathered instantly.
Blue lightning snakes filled the sky.
Gear Third — Thunder Elephant Gun!
Armant Haki lightning mixed with the blue lightning of his fruit as a fist the size of a small mountain crashed down from the sky.
"LUFFY!!"
Garp grinned.
Dark red lightning burst from his body.
Conqueror's Haki wrapped around his fist.
"Watch closely, boy!"
"Bone Fist: Impact!"
A tiny figure collided with the mountain-sized fist.
The entire sky above Water 7 darkened.
But if you looked carefully—
The fists never actually touched.
Even so—
Luffy's giant fist was forced backward.
"Damn—!"
Luffy winced as his hand healed.
So this is… Conqueror's Haki coating.
Aokiji was strong, but I could probably fight him for hours.
But this old man… surviving an hour would already be amazing.
"But I'm not here just to get beaten up."
Luffy murmured.
Then his body dissolved into lightning.
Garp stared in shock.
"What?! He took that punch and he's fine?!"
For a mont he wondered if he had grown too old.
He quickly shook the thought away.
"Don't just stand there!"
"CHASE THEM!"
The Marines hurried onto the ship.
Among them, Koby looked inspired.
Could I ever beco that strong…?
Luffy is amazing… but would he still call his friend?
anwhile, Garp stood silently for a mont before bursting into laughter.
"Hahaha!"
"That's my grandson!"
Then he walked back toward the dog-headed warship, justice cloak fluttering behind him.
Back at Scrapyard Island
Blue lightning crackled.
Luffy reappeared on the ship's bow.
"Luffy!"
Everyone sighed with relief.
Even though they knew he was strong, his opponent was the legendary Marine Hero Garp.
"Let's go! Grandpa's coming. Franky, get aboard!"
Franky jumped onto the ship.
"You amateurs who only know how to patch holes!"
"A ship this amazing needs a shipwright!"
"So I'll take care of her!"
The ship slowly began moving.
In the distance—
Garp stood on his warship.
"Bring a cannonball!"
A Marine struggled to carry one.
Garp grabbed it with one hand and hurled it.
"Bone Fist: teor!"
The cannonball shot through the air like a teor.
Even the shockwave rocked the Sunny.
"That speed…!" Zoro said seriously.
Even his Observation Haki could barely track it.
aning—
He couldn't cut it.
anwhile Luffy stood at the bow laughing.
"It's useless, Grandpa!"
"We're continuing our adventure!"
Cannonballs crashed into the sea around them, shaking the ship.
But none hit the Sunny.
"Run far away, Straw Hat!" the residents of Scrapyard Island cheered.
anwhile the crew had lowered the sails.
"Are you sure this will work, Franky?" Zoro asked from the mast.
"Of course! Believe in the ship!"
"Oh—and it needs a na!"
"You're thinking about that now?!" Sanji shouted.
"Of course! A ship without a na is boring!"
"Luffy, what do you think?"
Luffy knocked away another cannonball.
"A na…?"
He already knew.
"What do you think, Franky?"
Franky grinned.
"How about…"
"Thousand Sunny!"
"THOUSAND SUNNY!!"
Everyone loved the na instantly.
Marine Warship
"They lowered the sails… are they surrendering?" Koby asked.
"Surrender?" Garp scoffed.
His eyes flashed.
Then he lifted a massive iron ball, nearly half the size of the warship.
"Luffy! Don't think you can escape!"
He hurled it.
But Luffy simply stood at the bow, watching the shadow above.
At the last second—
The Sunny's propulsion system activated.
"Coup de Burst!!"
The Thousand Sunny blasted into the sky.
It soared over the sea.
Water 7 shrank rapidly behind them.
The Straw Hat Pirates had begun a new adventure.
The Thousand Sunny sets sail!
