Directly above the holding room was the training deck, where Kenshin was currently practicing his swordsmanship. In a high-intensity environnt like this, a little noise was only natural.
However, the localized "earthquakes" from above soon ceased. The ship fell into an eerie, heavy silence, as if nothing had ever happened.
The fat lackey swallowed hard, slowly crawling toward Scheit. He sat there, huddled close to his captain. To be fair, it wasn't out of loyalty or a desire to protect him—it was purely for a sense of security. Having a partner in this terrifying place felt better than being alone.
This place is too scary... Waaaah... Mama... I want to go ho...
I don't know what kind of monster is locked up above us, but it finally quieted down... The "Legendary Four Brothers" are terrifying... too terrifying... sob...
And this is just one of them! Don't forget the "Evilest Bloodline," the son of the Pirate King—Fire Fist Ace with an 800 million bounty! And the son of Dragon, the Revolutionary Chief of Staff... what kind of god-tier demonic brothers are these?
Good Heavens! If You were going to let them be born into this world, why did You have to make them brothers!? It's not fair!
Waaaah... where are they taking us? Are they going to hand us over to the Navy?
The fat man suddenly rembered Drake ntioning offhandedly that they were worth a decent payout from the Marines. A violent shiver ran through his round body as he looked at the motionless Scheit.
"Boss," the fat man whispered, his eyes darting around. "Your bounty is 200 million, while mine is only 10 million... When the ti cos for him to hand us over, I'll tell them your bounty is higher so they might let slide... You won't hold it against , right, Boss?"
In the darkness, the corners of Scheit's mouth twitched. If I could move right now, I would personally clean up this family ss. I must have been blind to recruit such a cowardly brat.
Clang—vrummm!
Suddenly, the heavy door to the room slid upward. Brilliant light flooded the dark chamber. Having been in total darkness for so long, the fat man winced violently before snapping his eyes shut.
Step, step, step...
Listening to the approaching footsteps, the fat man squeezed his eyes shut, his legs trembling like leaves in the wind.
Playing dead?
Drake looked at the fat man lying next to Scheit and couldn't help but let out a dry laugh. He shook his head and walked over. Behind him, Kenshin—his upper body bare and glistening with sweat—was drinking a glass of juice and wiping himself down with a towel. Bell followed closely behind them.
"Fatty, stop acting and get up," Drake teased.
There was no response for several seconds. Drake shook his head helplessly. "Bell, just throw them both into the sea. They're clearly already dead."
"Right away!" Bell said, producing a length of rope from behind his back as if he had been waiting for the order.
"Wait, wait! I'm up!" Scheit and the fat man both bolted upright at the sa ti, shouting in panic.
The fat man froze, his body turning chanical as he turned his head to look at Scheit, who was sitting up as if nothing had happened. "B-Boss... when did you wake up...?"
A cold sweat broke out on the fat man's brow. Did he hear what I just said? Oh god, I'm a dead man...
"You fat bastard! I've treated you well, and the mont we hit a life-or-death crisis, the first thing you think of is selling out!"
"I... cough... pthhh!" In his excitent, Scheit coughed up a spray of blood and collapsed back down.
"Boss, I—" The fat man tried to explain, but Drake cut him off.
"Alright, that's enough. What's this? A bitter cody routine?"
The fat man instantly shut his mouth. Scheit, struggling to sit up again, looked at Drake with trepidation. Rumor had it that none of the Four Brothers were easy to deal with; they weren't just powerful, they were ruthless.
Scheit had been using his Observation Haki to try and sense what was happening outside the room, but he couldn't penetrate the ship's hull. It made his heart sink—escaping from this vessel was a mathematical impossibility. His plan to play dead and slip away had been seen through instantly.
The fear of Drake deepened. That mountain-like force that had smashed into him earlier made him feel like he had t the Grim Reaper face-to-face. It was like an ant trying to shake an elephant; they weren't even in the sa league.
Drake looked at the battered Scheit and felt satisfied. He had controlled his strength carefully. To avoid killing the guy instantly, he had used only 30% of his power for the first punch. For the second, he had felt on a whim that Scheit could handle 40% and let it fly without hesitation.
He had actually regretted it for a mont afterward, fearing he might have accidentally finished his "source of information" too early. Luckily, Scheit's durability was decent. He was essentially a "dead dog" now, but at least he was conscious.
Since the ship didn't have a doctor, Drake wasn't about to go out of his way to find him dical care.
"Tell , what use are the two of you?" Drake flicked his finger, and a chair materialized beside him. He sat down slowly, his fingers tapping rhythmically on the armrest. Every tap sounded like a death knell in the ears of the two captives.
"This..." The fat man looked piteous. "Please don't throw us in the sea! Power users are finished the mont they hit the water... waaaah!"
"You're a power user?" Drake raised an eye in disbelief.
"Yes..."
"What ability?"
"Well... it's..." The fat man fidgeted, looking conflicted.
"He's a Pig-Pig Fruit user. Aside from eating, he has no special skills," Scheit interjected from the floor with a sneer.
Drake's mouth twitched as he re-evaluated the fat man. So, we have a "Zhu Bajie" on board.
"Ahem. Let's get real. We're about to reach our destination!" Drake stood up and walked toward the exit, Kenshin and Bell following.
"This..." Scheit and the fat man exchanged a look, unsure of what to do.
"Help up!" Scheit snapped at the fat man. He was too heavily injured to move on his own.
"Oh, right, right..." The fat man hurried to prop Scheit up.
When they reached the viewing deck and saw the panoramic view of the surrounding ocean, they were stunned into silence.
Drake's lips curled into a smile. The Magic Protector surged upward, breaking the surface and kicking up a massive spray of white foam.
The New World!
The Dragon Flag Pirates have arrived!
Now that you've reached the New World, what is the first island you will visit to begin your mission to save Bell's sister?
