BOOM! A flash of fire erupted in Drake's vision as a massive magma fist closed the distance in an instant.
"What!?" Drake's pupils constricted.
Akainu had co prepared. After the battle at Marineford, he had analyzed Drake's teleportation patterns and timing. He wasn't going to let the boy slip away so easily this ti.
BOOM!
Drake cast five spatial walls in rapid succession, but they shattered like glass under the molten pressure. Why five? Because the sixth was currently beneath his feet, acting as the platform that allowed him to stand in mid-air.
CRASH!
Vrumm—BOOM!
Drake funneled the power of spatial vibration into his right fist and threw a counter-punch.
Rumble!
"Drake-san!" Bell's heart hamred against his ribs as he watched the exchange.
Drake lost the power struggle and was sent hurtling backward through the air.
"Ah... it's over, we're finished..." the fat lackey wailed.
Swish... Bzzzt! Suddenly, Kenshin's body beca a conduit for crackling purple electricity. In a blurred flash of lightning, he intercepted Akainu's follow-up attack.
"Thunder God's Wrath: Lightning Pillar!"
A pillar of blinding white lightning slamd into the magma fist.
Rumble...
Crimson heat clashed with jagged electricity. The collision sent out a shockwave of light so intense that everyone was forced to shield their eyes. When they finally looked again, Kenshin was on one knee, blood soaking through his clothes.
"Kenshin-san!" Bell was the first to reach his side. Seeing the blood spraying from the wounds and the severe burns on Kenshin's skin, the boy panicked. "How... how could this happen..."
"Move, let treat him!" Ann rushed out, quickly assessing the damage.
"Spirit of the Great Sea... Sea Soul Restoration!" A strange, deep-blue light gathered in Ann's palms before she draped it over Kenshin.
To everyone's amazent, Kenshin's wounds began to close at a visible speed. The charred skin and deep gashes were rapidly replaced by fresh tissue.
"Incredible..." Bell and the others were stunned. What kind of power was this? Such restorative potency was unheard of.
Chug-chug-chug... In that brief window, Akainu had brought the warship right alongside the Magic Protector. Magma dripped from his hands into the sea, hissing and creating clouds of steam that added to the suffocating pressure.
"BOARD THEM!"
Marines sward toward the Magic Protector, scaling the hull and charging toward Kenshin and Ann.
"I won't let you pass!" Bell stood his ground with a look of absolute determination. He was the only one left capable of fighting on the deck—he had to protect them!
"Bell...!" In the distance, Drake used a spatial jump to return to the ship's side, ready to strike. But Akainu intercepted him once more, cutting off his path.
Looking at the expressionless Admiral, Drake's face darkened completely. He wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth. This was the second ti he had bled since coming to this world, and both tis it was because of the man in front of him.
To say he was angry would be an understatent. Drake was livid.
Kenshin was out of commission; they had to retreat. He would have to be the one to hold the line. It was ti for a real showdown with the Red Dog.
"Magic Protector, Teleport!"
[Ding! Short-range teleportation will comnce in 10 seconds. Comncing countdown...]
"Bell, I'm leaving them to you! Don't worry about , I'll catch up!"
"Eh?" Bell blinked, then roared back: "YES! Drake-san, don't worry! As long as I'm breathing, I won't let anything happen to Kenshin-san!"
"Heh..." Drake's lips curled into a smirk as he fixed his eyes on Akainu.
"You ca to kill , right? I'll give you a chance—let's see if you actually have the guts to take my head!"
In a blur, Drake appeared right in front of Akainu. Before the Admiral could swing, Drake vanished again...
Akainu's face was grim. He had an uneasy feeling. His targets were supposed to be cornered, yet Drake acted as if escape were a foregone conclusion.
Suddenly, a chorus of screams erupted from the Marines behind him.
"WHAT IS HAPPENING!?"
"Hmm?" Akainu spun around, only to find the pirate ship that had been right next to them had vanished into thin air.
"Where did it go!?"
"Admiral... it's gone! The ship is gone!"
"And our boarding party! They vanished with the ship!"
Akainu: "???"
He turned his gaze back to Drake, who hadn't moved. The boy was clearly unfazed; he had planned the escape from the start.
"Where are they?"
"Who knows?" Drake grinned. Spatial energy gathered in his fists as he launched a barrage of punches.
BOOM! BOOM!
"Akainu, let's have a real fight!" Drake pushed his teleportation and spatial vibrations to the limit.
Whoosh! He landed squarely on the deck of the warship.
Vrumm—CRACK!
"Hmph... if you wish to turn this ship into your grave, I will happily oblige!" Akainu roared, charging head-on.
BOOM!
The two clashed violently. Drake was still at a slight disadvantage in raw power, but he used his teleportation to weave in and out of the Admiral's reach, striking from blind spots. Akainu's attacks were terrifying; against the "old" Drake, he would have won instantly. But now, with the spatial vibration buff, Drake was actually applying pressure.
Furthermore, they were at sea. Drake's ability to fly gave him a massive aerial advantage, while Akainu was tethered to his warship.
CRASH!
The sea tossed and turned, the shockwaves of their battle vibrating through the very water. Every ti their fists t, it felt like the ocean itself was screaming.
"Full Power Strike!"
Drake chained several micro-teleports together, catching a montary opening on Akainu's flank. He put every ounce of strength he possessed into a single, devastating punch.
CRACK... Spatial fissures webbed out frantically across the air. This battle required 100% of his ntal focus; a single lapse would be fatal.
BOOM!
Akainu's reaction speed defied logic. In a heartbeat, he pivoted and t the strike with a magma-coated fist of his own.
BOOM!
Two titanic forces collided.
K-K-K-Krrrk...
"Admiral! The hull is cracking! The ship can't take much more of this!" the Marines scread. Even a reinforced warship was reaching its breaking point under this level of violence.
"DAAGH!" Akainu found an opening and closed the distance, unleashing a rapid-fire sequence of molten strikes.
Drake was forced to block. It was a brutal exchange—blow for blow, bone against magma.
"Hellhound (igo)!"
BOOM!
Drake was finally blasted off the ship. He flickered through the air with several frantic teleports before he could stabilize his body.
"Ugh..."
He spat out a mouthful of blood, looking up to lock eyes with Akainu, who stood like a demon on the cracking deck.
Drake is wounded, and his crew is gone! Can he survive a final showdown with Akainu in the middle of the New World?
