"Let ask you two, what's that boss of yours called... what... right, your boss, where is he now?" Drake had been trying to rember the man's na for a while but ca up empty.

In the end, he stopped trying. After all, whether the guy had a na or not, the result would be the sa.

"It's York..." Scheit said cautiously.

Seeing Drake's expressionless face and complete lack of interest, he quickly continued, "Usually at this ti, our—I an, York—should still be at the Dark Clan headquarters."

As he spoke, Scheit inwardly cursed his own stupidity. This was absolutely not the ti to slip up. If he didn't watch his words, the life he had fought so hard to keep wouldn't last another five minutes.

"And where is this headquarters?" Drake asked, his eyes narrowing slightly.

"Hehe... Great Sir, that was in the past. We aren't part of the Dark Clan anymore," Scheit said, his voice dripping with flattery. To Scheit, admitting any current ties to the Clan was essentially a death sentence.

"Mmm, mmm, mmm..." The fat man beside him nodded like a woodpecker in agreent.

Drake looked at the two of them, speechless. Regardless of the Dark Clan's overall strength, their recruitnt standards were clearly bottom-tier. With two turncoats like this, the rest of the Clan likely wasn't much better.

What Drake didn't realize was that they had only beco like this because he was too terrifying. Without knowing it, he had crushed every last bit of resolve they had left. Every move he made put them under unbearable ntal pressure.

Soon, Drake and the two "living treasures" arrived at a backstreet behind the bustling main thoroughfare. It lacked the noise of the front streets but was still heavily trafficked.

"The Needful Inn," Drake muttered, reading the tattered signboard over a tavern. "Is this the place?"

"Yes!" Scheit answered as if competing in a ga show. "This is the public place closest to the Dark Clan headquarters."

"If you want to keep an eye on things or gather intel, this is the most suitable spot."

He looked frantic, as if terrified the fat man would beat him to the answer. The fat man, for his part, shot Scheit a resentful look. Ever since Scheit had abandoned all will to resist, the little guy hadn't had a single chance to prove his worth.

"Mmm. Let's go in."

Once they stepped inside, Drake was slightly surprised. This really was the perfect vantage point for surveillance. It was styled as a small, inconspicuous pub, but despite its sowhat remote location, it was packed with people.

"When was this bar built?" Drake asked the two as they made their way to a window seat on the second floor.

Only Drake sat down. Scheit and the fat man didn't dare, standing stiffly beside him to answer his questions.

"Sit down," Drake waved them over. Having them stand like that drew too much attention. He had already noticed a beautiful woman across the room whose gaze hadn't left them.

"Ah... oh, right!" The two looked at Drake with imnse gratitude. After everything they had been through over the past few days, this felt like being treated with human dignity again.

Of course, they were overthinking it. Drake just didn't want any unnecessary trouble.

"Are you sure this place is safe? Does your boss not know about it?"

"He knows."

"Then are you playing with ?" Drake's eyes widened, and he looked ready to flip the table.

"No, no, no...!" Scheit explained hurriedly. "The thing is, people from the Dark Clan used to co here all the ti. Normal people wouldn't dare spy on us here."

"Especially York. No one in the Clan would ever think soone had the guts to cause trouble in this specific spot. That's why I said it's the most suitable location."

"So, bringing you two along was the right call, then?" Drake leaned back in his chair.

"Hehe, we do our best..." Scheit laughed sheepishly.

Since this was Dark Clan territory, no one would suspect surveillance from within.

"Alright, tell where this York is likely to be and what he's doing." Drake didn't like to dawdle. The plan was simple: find the target, give him a beating. Simple.

"Mmm, mmm..." Scheit nodded and began detailing York's routine. Now that he had flipped, he spoke about York's schedule with zero hesitation.

Just as he was getting into the details, Drake looked up, his eyes narrowing.

"What... what's wrong?" Scheit and the fat man panicked, wondering if they had said sothing wrong.

"Scheit!"

A voice suddenly rang out from behind them, making the two jump.

A woman with long golden hair, wearing a black bodysuit that outlined her exquisite curves, walked toward them with a faint smile on her face.

Drake gave a slight nod. Scheit gave Drake a reassuring look and slowly turned around. He even glared at the fat man, signaling him to keep his mouth shut.

But when he saw the newcor, he froze.

"Who are you?"

Scheit was certain he had never seen this woman before, especially one this stunning.

Drake's eyes sharpened as his gaze fell on the woman. How could soone Scheit didn't recognize know his na? Sothing was off.

"Don't recognize ?" The blonde's lips curled into a smirk, her tone teasing.

"You... you, you, you...!" Scheit's pupils shrank, and he began to stamr.

"Speak. Where is my brother right now!?"

In a blur, the blonde's long leg swept out, pinning Scheit's neck against the floor in a single, lightning-fast strike.

"AHH!" the fat man shrieked, scrambling away.

Even Drake watched with interest.

"Ugh..." Scheit's face turned beet-red as he gestured wildly. Let go so I can actually talk! How am I supposed to speak like this?

"You... You're Vice-Leader Bernice!?" the fat man finally realized, his voice full of disbelief.

"Cough... gasp... huff..."

Once released, Scheit felt like his heart was about to burst. What was happening? Hadn't she been captured? How was she here?

"Leader, your brother is fine! He's great! He should be at your old ho looking for you right now..." Scheit blurted out everything in one breath, terrified of leaving anything out.

He then added quickly, "By the way, let introduce you. This is the Captain of the Dragon Flag Pirates, Boss Drake. Your brother is currently on his ship."

Drake finally understood the situation. He stood up slowly. It seed the rescue mission was going to be much smoother than anticipated.

He also had to admire Locke's intuition—Bell's sister really had escaped on her own.
