"Saint Rosse... please, no...", Perth's miserable cry echoed, but no one paid him the slightest attention.
Zephyr had already left imdiately, and before going, he even shot Perth a disdainful look.
He still upheld justice. But his justice would never shelter a bastard like this.
Even he could tell that Flevance's Amber Lead mine was a huge trap, and that Perth's royal family had concealed the truth, letting their people be slowly poisoned.
A beast like that deserved whatever fate Rosse had in store.
The other kings were even colder, their gazes toward Perth filled mostly with mockery.
Who didn't know Rosse was not to be trifled with? Did this guy really think jumping out first would earn him anything good?
Still, Saint Garling's move had worked in the end.
Even as they sneered at Perth in their hearts, the kings and queens all grew secretly wary.
If Rosse dared to summon Perth's queen and princess in front of everyone today, what if next ti he went to their countries to throw his weight around?
They could tolerate compromising for the World Governnt's power, but after all, they were allied nations, not vassal states.
If being an allied nation had no benefits and only humiliation, then they might as well have resisted from the start.
"Saint Garling, Saint Nusjuro, please... I beg you, help ...", Seeing Rosse completely unmoved, Perth turned desperately toward Garling and Nusjuro.
He had only spoken up because Garling had instructed him to, told him to bring up the issue early, so even if trouble ca, it wouldn't spread too far.
Who could have expected things to turn out like this?
Hadn't Saint Garling said that Rosse was easy to talk to, that he'd definitely help their family?
If Garling and Nusjuro didn't step in now, Perth was ready to blow everything up on the spot.
To hell with it. If he was going to die anyway, he might as well drag others down with him.
Feeling Perth's gaze, Saint Nusjuro remained utterly expressionless, he didn't even bother to lift his eyes.
A re allied king, daring to look at him that way?
At that very mont, Nusjuro had already sentenced Perth to death in his mind.
From beginning to end, Perth was nothing more than a dog in his eyes. And a dog should know to die for its master.
Garling, however, slightly furrowed his brow. eting Rosse's teasing gaze beside him, he spoke evenly, "King Perth, what are you panicking for?"
He was, after all, more experienced in these matters.
It wasn't as though sothing like this hadn't happened before at the World Summit. A few years ago, even Otohi had been targeted by a Celestial Dragon, so what were a few ordinary queens in comparison?
If the incident wasn't big, the World Governnt wouldn't intervene, they'd let the Celestial Dragons do whatever they pleased.
But if it did get big, big enough to cause unrest among the allied nations, then the World Governnt would definitely step in to uphold "justice," ensuring the victimized queens ca to no real harm.
This ti was the sa. To resolve Perth's problem, there were two paths: produce the Amber Lead jewelry, or blow the incident up big enough to draw official attention. That way, Perth's family would be safe.
Garling didn't care in the slightest whether Perth's family lived or died, but if he didn't step in to "save" them now, no one would ever dare oppose Rosse again.
"I...", Perth saw Garling speak and slowly forced himself to calm down, organizing his words:
"The queen... she's used to being assertive back in Flevance. I'm worried she might cause an embarrassing scene."
"If that's the case, send word ahead to warn her," Garling said evenly, "I'll have Shamrock accompany them and record everything that happens."
He made the call right there in front of everyone, contacting Shamrock, who was waiting in the World Governnt building.
With Shamrock accompanying them, he truly didn't believe Rosse would do anything inappropriate.
Compared to those deranged, pig-headed Celestial Dragons, Garling was sure Rosse at least knew when to act and when not to.
Besides, with Shamrock there, they could conveniently produce a "Amber Lead ornant" and cover up Perth's earlier lie.
Rosse said nothing, just quietly watched the scene unfold with amusent.
After that, the other kings clearly didn't dare to speak further. They only brought up a few trivial matters.
If they let Rosse keep diating their disputes, their whole nations might disappear.
Better to wait until the day's session was over and deal with things privately afterward.
The World Summit would last so ti, and Rosse wouldn't attend every day, they'd have chances to settle things later.
And so, the first day of the World Summit ended anticlimactically. Like a tiger's head and a snake's tail.
As everyone stood to send him off, Rosse was the first to leave the chamber.
Only after he was gone did the others slowly file out.
Outside the eting room, Sora quickly caught up to him, holding a tablet-like device in her hands.
Such advanced tech didn't really exist in this world yet. But after Rosse had once ntioned it, Sora had managed to create one herself.
It couldn't be mass-produced yet, but it was more than enough for use in the Holy Land.
"They reached the Jaygarcia estate already?"
Rosse asked with interest, looking at the screen.
It showed footage of the Flevance queen and princesses being escorted into the Jaygarcia family residence.
Though Perth was as fat as a ball, his queen and daughters were surprisingly attractive.
The queen had long black hair and a D-cup figure, paired with a dignified, elegant temperant, she was quite the mature beauty.
The three princesses all looked of age. Though they appeared timid before Zephyr and Shamrock, their faces still showed traces of arrogance and willfulness, clearly won used to getting their way.
Most strikingly, all four had very pale skin. But not to the sickly degree of those suffering from Amber Lead poisoning.
Just from appearances, Rosse could already tell none of them had the disease.
"Stella's already arranged their dical exams," Sora explained, "Based on the reported data, their bodies show no abnormalities."
"And the Amber Lead jewelry? Where did Shamrock 'find' it?", Rosse asked with a grin.
"It appears to be a bracelet supposedly made from Amber Lead ore, but in reality, the ore concentration is low, mostly Amber. The craftsmanship is rough, clearly sothing cobbled together at the last minute. Shamrock said it was 'found' in the queen's most treasured jewelry box."
Sora replied, her lips curling faintly.
Everyone knew the whole thing was fake, but as long as no one said it aloud, it didn't matter. No one truly cared about the truth.
After all, in this little ga, none of them valued anyone's life but their own.
If Rosse chose to pursue it further, the mont he stepped into the trap, Saint Garling would gladly clap his hands in support.
And if Rosse did pursue it, the one who'd hate him most would be Perth himself. Even if his whole family died, he'd probably use his dying breath to bite back at Rosse.
But knowing Rosse as Sora did, the outco for Perth's family would most likely be very tragic.
