"Hey!"

Just after coming out, the man looked at Matsumoto Rangiku and said, "You must be the lieutenant of the Tenth Division, right? Where's your new captain?"

"Yachiru here! Hello!"

At the sa ti, a pink-haired small girl popped out from the man's back and happily greeted Matsumoto Rangiku.

"Captain Kenpachi, Yachiru!"

Seeing the two of them, Matsumoto Rangiku's face turned a bit sour, but she still greeted them.

If it were any other ti, she'd be happy to run into Yachiru, the two of them got along well.

But in front of her new captain, she absolutely didn't want to run into Captain Kenpachi.

He would definitely latch on to them.

"Is that Captain of the Eleventh Division, Kenpachi Zaraki?"

Rosse stepped forward proactively, putting Matsumoto Rangiku behind him.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

[Kenpachi Zaraki]

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

The man before him had eyes almost indistinguishable from a beast.

The mont their eyes t, Rosse understood the other's intent.

He was curious how strong the man would be if his seal were fully released.

"Hey, are you the new captain of the Tenth Division? You've got a good presence, unlike those other scrawny sticks," A bloodthirsty gleam flashed in Kenpachi's one-eyed stare, like a starving beast that had found a prey worth fighting.

His wild reiatsu was like a physical blade, stabbing straight at Rosse.

Words were unnecessary to him.

Whether they could fight, if he could beat him, that would be the proof.

Whoosh!!

As if on cue, the pink-haired Yachiru nimbly leapt down from Kenpachi's broad shoulder and giggled, stepping aside.

And the mont Yachiru moved away, it was as if the signal to start fighting had been given...

BOOM!

The ground cracked with an explosive sound.

Kenpachi's figure was gone from the spot, transford into a brutal yellow shockwave; his serrated long sword dragged behind him, grinding against the earth with a shrill screech as it rushed straight at Rosse.

"Captain Kenpachi!", Seeing Kenpachi's wild behavior, Matsumoto Rangiku's face changed and she wanted to stop him.

But clearly, in the throes of battle intent, Kenpachi wouldn't listen to anyone's admonitions.

"Rangiku, stand back. I'll handle this."

Rosse showed no ripple of expression facing the onslaught. He calmly put his hand on the hilt at his waist, and with a soft sound his zanpakuto slid from its sheath.

He didn't even take a stance, just held the sword in one hand and casually placed the blade across his body.

"Don't underestimate , bastard!"

Kenpachi's roar was like thunder. His massive body leapt high, holding his sword in one hand, concentrating all of his reiatsu and strength into a strike that tore at the earth as it ca down on Rosse's head.

Rosse slowly lifted his eyelids; the rapidly enlarging blade reflected in his calm pupils. He replied evenly:

"The reiatsu you're showing isn't enough for to take seriously."

Sizzle!

The expected clash of tal didn't ring out. Instead ca the grueso cry of blade entering flesh.

The instant the two blades t, the result was already decided.

"You've got to be kidding...", Matsumoto Rangiku's eyes widened in disbelief; a dry gasp escaped her throat.

Under her stunned gaze, Rosse's seemingly unremarkable slash, like slicing tofu, cut Kenpachi's zanpakuto cleanly into two pieces.

Then, the sharp montum didn't stop; it left a ferocious wound across Kenpachi's chest, running from his left abdon up to his right shoulder, deep enough to see bone.

"AHHH!"

Facing flying blood, Kenpachi didn't show fear; instead he couldn't contain his laughter.

"Haha… HAHAHAHAHAHA!!"

In an instant, Kenpachi's golden reiatsu erupted like a volcano.

"This is it! This is the feeling I want! Co on, keep fighting!"

Kenpachi laughed wildly, ignoring the chest wound that should have been fatal. Raising the half-broken sword, he transford into an even more violent gale and charged Rosse again.

At that mont his reiatsu was more than twice as strong as before, almost lighting the surrounding air ablaze.

"You are still too weak," Rosse said lightly, and at the sa ti his figure blurred where he stood, becoming an afterimage invisible to the naked eye, passing through Kenpachi with ease.

While Kenpachi still held the forward posture of a swing, Rosse's shape had already, like a phantom, silently appeared behind him, as if he'd been standing there from the start.

Kenpachi, who had just lifted his blade to strike, was still in mid-action.

Shlash!

A cross of bleeding lines erupted on Kenpachi's back; the new wounds intersected with the old at his shoulder. Blood splattered, weaving a mournful red net in the air and instantly dyeing the ground beneath him.

This ti Kenpachi couldn't laugh.

His forward montum stalled; his body froze, and the light in his eyes rapidly dimd.

Thud!

With a heavy, muffled sound, that mountain of a body collapsed, kicking up a cloud of dust.

"Keep moving, Rangiku!"

Rosse casually flicked his blade; droplets of blood traced an elegant arc in the air, not staining the blade at all. With a soft chi, his zanpakuto slid back into its sheath with fluid grace.

He didn't even look back at Kenpachi; he simply strode forward.

"Oh! Oh! Oh, Captain! I'm coming!"

Matsumoto Rangiku finally snapped out of it and hurried after Rosse. Passing Yachiru, she didn't forget to apologize:

"Sorry, Yachiru, my captain was a bit rough."

"No problem, little Kiku! Little Ken had fun today!", Yachiru giggled and squatted down in front of Kenpachi, helping him up, "Please take care of us from now on!"

With that she hoisted Kenpachi and carried him off.

It was ridiculous to see that tiny Yachiru carrying the giant Kenpachi on her shoulder, but it was oddly comical.

Looking back at their departing backs, a gleam of excitent couldn't help but appear in Matsumoto Rangiku's eyes.

Who in Seireitei didn't know Kenpachi? The current Kenpachi was a maniacal battle fiend who loved nothing more than sparring with other captains.

If he latched onto you, you were basically dood. Win or lose, you'd fight countless tis until Kenpachi lost interest.

Rumor had it that Ichimaru Gin had been cut up badly by Kenpachi and spent a whole month in the Fourth Division's infirmary.

'Heh! Heh!'

"Gin, you don't asure up nowhere near my captain.'

'Even the mad dog Captain Kenpachi fell to my captain in just two cuts.'

'And the most important thing is, not only are we better-looking than you, but my captain treats even better!'
