The world of pirates is never bound by rules—it's all about doing as one pleases. And clearly, Mr. 5 is soone who does exactly that.

"No, no, I would never! It's just that recently, the top-tier wines from the winery have been in short supply, and we can't even get any for our taverns. I definitely didn't an to deceive any of you, sirs," the tavern owner hurriedly explained, terrified.

Indeed, pirates are difficult people to deal with.

"Forget it, whatever's available is fine," Rosen said. While he did want to try so of the fine wines from the tavern, there was no point in getting upset over it—there was no way to change the situation.

"Yes, yes, I'll go arrange it right away..." the tavern owner responded quickly, retreating in a hurry.

"Shichibukai really are tyrants. Old man's never been so polite with us. What an infuriating guy," a bounty hunter muttered under his breath.

He looked at Rosen and the others. It was a pity they were part of the Shichibukai; bounty or not, if it weren't for that, he would have tried to poison them secretly and cash in on their heads. But if he were to target pirates, he'd have to leave the tavern. Otherwise, he'd be blacklisted and lose access to all the information. That was why the tavern could accommodate both pirates and bounty hunters—inside the tavern, anyway. What happened outside was another matter entirely.

Boom! Suddenly, a short but incredibly muscular man—his body as solid as a pile of rocks—slamd his fist onto the table. His face grew serious as if he had made a resolution, and with a large, finely crafted axe resting on his shoulder, he began walking toward Rosen and the others.

The people in the tavern brightened up. Looks like soone was willing to step forward and make the first move. Many of them were proud and defiant individuals, and though they feared the na, they weren't necessarily afraid of the Shichibukai. They were just waiting to see if soone would make a move and test the waters. After all, it wasn't just so Marines who looked down on the Shichibukai—pirates and bounty hunters alike shared that sentint.

The Shichibukai's strength, however, was still unquestionable, though how strong they really were was another story. If this "test" showed that the Shichibukai weren't all that formidable, many would likely make a move for fa and profit.

"Looks like this is unavoidable," Rosen mused, calmly enjoying his al. He briefly glanced at the approaching muscular man but didn't pay him much mind.

It was just like in Alabasta—having a famous reputation stirred up people's hearts. Who wouldn't want to make a na for themselves as a pirate on the high seas?

"Such a disappointnt," Mr. 5 stood up, ready to handle the situation. After all, they couldn't have the boss deal with every single little nuisance. If they did that, what would they be good for? He was confident, especially after recent training under their boss's guidance. His physical strength and fruit abilities were advancing rapidly.

"This is the Shichibukai, Crocodile, right?" the short man asked, standing just a few feet from Rosen, his voice loud and challenging.

Rosen didn't look up but continued enjoying the food. At that mont, another dish arrived—roasted sea beast at. It was bone-in, glistening with oil, and the thin, crispy skin made it look irresistible. Rosen picked up a piece and took a bite.

Imdiately, his eyes lit up. The at was exceptionally good. The exterior was crispy, while the inside remained juicy and tender. The rich, savory flavor exploded in his mouth, and the juices inside the at lted instantly.

"So, what do you want with our boss?" Mr. 5 asked arrogantly, his head held high as he glanced at the man.

"I'm Wild Axe Simon, with a bounty of 23 million. I want to join your pirate crew," the short man said with a boisterous voice.

What? Simon's declaration left everyone stunned. He wasn't here to pick a fight, but to join the pirate crew?! This was unexpected. Usually, those who sought to join were polite and respectful, but this man was acting like he wanted to start a fight.

"Oh?" Rosen finally looked up, clearly surprised. But after thinking about it, it made sense. Given the Shichibukai's reputation, it was more likely people would want to join them. After all, the legitimacy of piracy—being able to raid without facing the consequences—was tempting to many pirates.

Though so might criticize the Shichibukai, few could resist the allure of such power.

"I want to join you and do sothing great. Please accept . I'm strong," Simon said, thumping his chest as he gave a wild grin.

"You can have that chance—beat him." Rosen pointed to Mr. 5.

"Him?" Simon grinned wider, his face becoming even more nacing. Of course, there were conditions—he'd been prepared for that. But could this skinny guy block a few of his axe blows?

"Fight outside so you don't disturb the boss's al," Bones added.

At these words, Mr. 5's face darkened slightly. Bones' remark was important—if they fought outside, then Mr. 5 would be at risk. If he lost, his life wouldn't be in his own hands. But if they fought inside the tavern, there was a chance Rosen might intervene for the sake of his own face, even if Mr. 5 lost.

Rosen thought for a mont. Mr. 5's abilities were good, but if he didn't improve his battle awareness, his future use would be limited. So, he said, "Go ahead. Don't disappoint ."

"Understood." Mr. 5 didn't resent the challenge. He was aware that this was his test, but he wasn't worried. His recent training had already prepared him for this.

"Let's go." Mr. 5 turned to Simon, and the two walked outside. So of the onlookers followed, eager to watch the show.

"Keep an eye on them from the shadows. If Mr. 5 loses, step in and save him," Rosen instructed.

"Understood, boss. Here's so information I just bought. Take a look—it's about so pirates frequently operating in well-known taverns," Bones said, handing Rosen a set of wanted posters with added notes.

As Bones stood, another man, seeing an opportunity, approached.

"I also want to join your pirate crew. Even just as a regular crew mber, I'm fine. I'm—"

"Get lost," Bones kicked the man away, making it clear that not just anyone could walk up and bother them. Even while dining, they didn't want to be interrupted.

Rosen didn't respond. As a mber of the Shichibukai, he had long expected such things. Bones' actions were entirely in line with his thoughts.

Just then, a sudden chill ran down Rosen's spine. He could sense a figure moving like a ghost behind him. The person was holding a crescent-shaped dagger, its blade glowing with a deadly blue hue—clearly coated with poison.

This person had likely been lurking for a while, waiting for the perfect mont. And this was indeed the perfect ti.

With Mr. 5 gone and new faces drawing attention, the assassin had picked his mont well.
