Soon after, under the guidance of the staff, Shinji and Tatsumaki arrived at the eting room where the executives were gathered.
"Mr. Kamui, Miss Tornado, you're here." Sitch was already waiting at the door to greet them.
"Hello, Mr. Sitch." Shinji nodded in acknowledgnt.
"If you have sothing to say, just say it. Don't waste my ti." Tatsumaki's tone was filled with impatience.
"Please, co in and take a seat first." Sitch invited the two inside.
Shinji didn't make things difficult for the executive and followed Sitch. As for Tatsumaki's attitude, the staff at Hero Association HQ had long since grown used to it, so no one was surprised.
Shinji and Tatsumaki sat down in the available seats.
"Now I'll explain the situation to you both. A few days ago, during the god-level disaster, Mr. Kamui was the primary contributor to resolving the crisis. Naturally, his rank deserves to be raised. However, there has been so disagreent among the executives on how far that promotion should go."
With his fingers interlocked and chin resting on his hands, Sitch spoke seriously. "The dispute lies in whether Mr. Kamui should rise to S-Class Rank 2 or Rank 3. We couldn't co to a decision, so we decided to ask for your opinions."
"I can accept either option."
"That's simple then. Just let Shinji move up to Rank 2."
Shinji and Tatsumaki spoke almost at the sa ti. Hearing Tatsumaki's words, Shinji turned to her in mild surprise. After all, if he rose to Rank 2, she would drop to Rank 3. Could she really accept that so casually?
"Uh…"
Seeing that neither Shinji nor Tatsumaki voiced any objections, Sitch and the other executives were caught off guard.
They had fully prepared themselves for Tatsumaki's wrath. Her temper was no small matter.
"Didn't you hear what I just said? Do I have to repeat myself?" Seeing the executives looking dumbfounded, Tatsumaki's voice grew even more impatient.
"No need, no need. So Miss Tornado, what you an is that you're willing to give up Rank 2 to Mr. Kamui, correct?" Just to be safe, Sitch confird again.
"Yes. Is there a problem with that?" Tatsumaki shot back with a question of her own.
"Of course not." Sitch let out a sowhat helpless laugh, then turned his gaze to Shinji. "And Mr. Kamui, you have no objections either, correct?"
"Why would I have…" Although a bit surprised, Shinji didn't intend to say much more.
"Then it's settled. Mr. Kamui will be promoted to S-Class Rank 2."
With the decision finalized, Sitch breathed a sigh of relief, feeling much lighter.
[Alert! Host promoted to S-Class Rank 4. Reward: 40 points…]
[Alert! Host promoted to S-Class Rank 3. Reward: 60 points…]
[Alert! Host promoted to S-Class Rank 2. Reward: 100 points…]
As his rank rose, Shinji received corresponding rewards, each step higher granting greater benefits. If he ever reached Rank 1, the reward would surely be even greater.
However, Shinji held no illusions about taking Rank 1. That position was obviously reserved for Blast.
The other executives also felt as though a weight had been lifted. All they wanted now was to clock out and enjoy their evening.
"Wait a mont!"
Just then, Sitch called them back. "There's also the matter of deciding hero nas for Mr. Saitama and Mr. Genos. Isn't it about ti we settled that as well?"
Although so executives looked displeased, everyone still sat back down. In truth, coming up with nas for new heroes was one of their small pleasures, except, of course, when it ca to naming Boros directly.
"S-Class Rank 15, Saitama, and S-Class Rank 18, Genos, correct? Yes, it's ti we decided on their hero nas."
"Based on their performance and conduct since joining the Association, we've gathered enough data. Let's use that as a foundation."
"Since Genos is a cyborg, his hero na should probably be based on that."
"…"
While the executives debated the hero nas, Sitch turned to Shinji and Tatsumaki with gratitude. "That's all for now. Thank you both for making the trip to headquarters."
He couldn't possibly keep Shinji and Tatsumaki waiting around. Knowing those guys, they could argue over nas for one or two hours.
"It's nothing."
"A small matter."
Shinji and Tatsumaki once again spoke almost at the sa ti.
With that, they left the conference room.
As they walked out, Shinji finally asked, "So now that you've dropped from Rank 2, are you fine with it?"
Tatsumaki's tone imdiately carried a hint of annoyance. "What's that supposed to an? Do I look like soone who obsesses over rank? Besides, that position is sothing you fully deserve."
Giving up so easily?
'Although, your sister definitely isn't like that…'
Of course, Shinji kept that thought to himself and didn't say it out loud.
"You think quite highly of . That's different from before~." Shinji teased her.
"That was only because I didn't know you well enough back then. Now I have a clearer idea of your strength. Also…"
As she spoke, Tatsumaki suddenly floated in front of him, blocking his path. "I want to fight you."
Shinji fell silent for a mont. "…Are you sure?"
"Absolutely." Tatsumaki's gaze was firm.
"All right then, let's do it." Shinji nodded in agreent.
He wasn't surprised by her request. Tatsumaki, much like Boros, longed for battles that would truly push her to her limits.
Regardless of the number of monsters she faced, even Dragon-level threats couldn't make her take it seriously. In her eyes, only Blast stood out, although she hadn't seen him in many years.
Their fight against the Ten-Tails had already given her a taste, but Tatsumaki was clearly far from satisfied. For Shinji, agreeing wasn't a big deal. It wouldn't take much effort anyway.
At that mont, Tatsumaki, just like last ti, extended her hand toward him. The gesture seed to an she wanted him to take her sowhere suitable for battle.
Without thinking much of it, Shinji did the sa as before. Out of politeness, he took hold of her wrist.
Seeing this, Tatsumaki's expression instantly switched into "Tsundere Mode," her face twisted in clear irritation.
"Idiot!" She yanked her hand free from Shinji's grip, gave a sharp "hmph," and flew off at once.
Shinji just stood there, utterly confused.
"Man, I would never understand won of this world…"
