"Ran away? Got caught again? What exactly is going on?"

Hearing this, Gou Wei couldn’t help but frown, feeling a bit flabbergasted.

Who knows a son better than his father!

As the father, he knew better than anyone what kind of behavior his son had.

That little rascal indulged in eating, drinking, whoring, gambling, and smoking, even more extravagantly than him.

He was even physically weaker than him, a middle-aged man in his fifties.

Unless the police were blind, how could they let that little rascal escape?

"Chairman, here’s what happened..."

The middle-aged man in the suit quickly recounted everything he heard from the hospital in detail.

"A ghostly figure?"

Gou Wei’s frown deepened.

He never believed in ghosts or gods.

If there really were ghosts or gods in this world, then given what he and his son had done, they would have been killed by vengeful spirits long ago.

Instead of calling it seeing a ghost, it would be more accurate to say his son wanted to use ntal illness as an excuse to escape legal punishnt.

Since when did that little rascal beco so clever?

No, I must see that little rascal and ask him his exact thoughts, then play along!

After pondering for a mont, Gou Wei suddenly stood up and said in a deep voice, "Prepare the car, I need to go to the hospital to see that little rascal!"

The police quickly agreed to the Gou family’s request for a visit.

When Gou Wei entered the ward with a lawyer, accompanied by the police, he imdiately noticed sothing was wrong.

At this mont, Gou Jie was tied up like a ntal patient, unable to move.

His face was as pale as a sheet, frighteningly so.

His eyes were wide open, full of endless fear and dread.

His lips were blue and purple, opening and closing as if muttering sothing continuously.

This scene made Gou Wei realize instantly that the little rascal probably wasn’t faking it!

Because such acting skills are only possessed by top-tier actors.

And how could a playboy who only knew how to indulge in pleasures imitate it so accurately?

When he saw his father enter, Gou Jie shook his body and cried out, "Dad... Dad..."

"Please get out of here... Please get out of here!"

"There’s a ghost here... there’s a ghost!"

"I saw her clearly! It’s her... she’s here!"

The chaotic gibberish, the hysterical wailing and crying, made one’s hair stand on end.

The accompanying lawyer couldn’t help but shiver.

He didn’t even dare to look at Gou Jie.

At this mont, Gou Jie looked like an evil ghost restrained and caged.

It seed that in the next second, he could break free from his restraints and pounce over...

"Director Wu, what on earth is going on?"

Gou Wei locked his eyebrows tightly and questioned Director Wu in a cold voice.

"What’s going on?"

"I’m afraid only your son knows, right?"

Director Wu retorted with a cold laugh.

"What do you an only my son knows?"

"He turned into this after you caught him, shouldn’t you give a reasonable explanation?"

Gou Wei said more angrily.

"Gou Jie kept saying he saw a ghost and refused to cooperate with us. What could we do?"

"You’re his biological father, why don’t you go ask about that ’her’ he’s talking about!"

Director Wu said with a bad mood.

"Hmph!"

Gou Wei snorted angrily, turned his head, and walked towards his son on the hospital bed, asking in a deep voice, "Little rascal, who exactly did you see?"

"It’s her... it’s her..."

"She’s here... she’s co to take revenge on !"

"Save ... save ... I don’t want to die..."

Gou Jie shook his head frantically, speaking incoherently.

Seeing this, Gou Wei couldn’t help but clench his fists.

Seeing his son in this state, it would be a lie to say he didn’t feel pained as a father.

After all, due to certain issues, he was infertile and, despite a lifeti of philandering, had only one son.

Even though his son indulged in every vice imaginable, he still hoped for him to carry on the Gou family line.

But who exactly was the ’her’ his son ntioned?

Gou Wei had a vague inkling in his heart, but couldn’t recall it at the mont.

...

Evening ca quickly.

But as night fell, Gou Jie’s struggles beca more intense, and he kept shouting "there’s a ghost".

Only after the doctor gave him a sedative did he finally quiet down.

Director Wu and his team stayed guard in the ward.

He wanted to see if any strange things would happen tonight.

When the ti reached midnight, suddenly black fog appeared out of nowhere, enveloping the entire ward in an instant.

Seeing the inexplicable black fog, Director Wu and his team were montarily stunned.

"Quick! Check on Gou Jie!"

Director Wu hurriedly shouted.

But in this pitch-black fog, no one could hear any sound or see anyone.

Director Wu was befuddled.

This was the first ti in his police career that he had encountered such a bizarre situation.

It was unclear how much ti passed, but the black fog soon receded quickly.

It ca swiftly and left just as swiftly.

Director Wu glanced at the ti; less than a minute had passed.

But in such a short ti, he felt as if it was an eternity.

When he looked up at the hospital bed again, as expected, Gou Jie had once again disappeared.

"Check the surveillance!"

Director Wu said with a face full of helplessness.

In the surveillance video, everything was the sa as the previous night, with Gou Jie’s figure directly appearing outside the hospital door, running forward, dazed.

"Director Wu, should we follow him to check it out?"

One of the investigating officers suggested.

"Alright!"

Director Wu quickly nodded in agreent.

Following the previous route, they quickly caught up with Gou Jie by car.

What puzzled everyone was the inexplicably fast speed at which Gou Jie was running!

They had to floor the gas pedal just to barely keep up with Gou Jie’s speed.

What puzzled everyone even more was Gou Jie’s peculiar running posture!

"Director Wu, why does it seem like Gou Jie is carrying sothing on his back to ?"

An investigating officer said, frowning.

With that reminder, Director Wu and others suddenly realized.

No wonder they thought the kid’s running posture was strange!

That bent-over, leaning-forward feeling, doesn’t it seem like he’s carrying sothing on his back?

So the question cos, what exactly is Gou Jie carrying on his back?

Director Wu and the others remained silent.

They followed Gou Jie all the way back to that familiar comrcial building.

When they reached the bottom of the comrcial building, where Gou Jie appeared, he once again vanished mysteriously.

Director Wu and his team got out of the car imdiately, starting to search for Gou Jie’s whereabouts.

After searching around the building, they finally found the unconscious Gou Jie in a garbage corner.

Compared to the last ti, Gou Jie had no injuries on him, but his face was visibly pale, truly without a trace of blood.

"Why do I feel like he’s suffering from blood loss?"

Director Wu glanced over, pondering with curiosity.
