For a normal player, or even an entire coordinated group, the [Forsaken Minotaur] was the type of monster that could only be defeated after a long and exhausting battle.
One where every mistake could cost soone their life and where victory would only co after slowly wearing the creature down over ti.
A fight against it wasn’t supposed to end quickly. If anything, it was the opposite.
The minotaur’s monstrous constitution and overwhelming strength made it nearly impossible to bring down without an extended clash.
Because even powerful attacks barely seed to damage it while a single swing from its axe was enough to kill most players instantly if they weren’t careful.
Violet and the others had clearly understood that from the very beginning.
If they had ever seriously planned to kill the minotaur before Leon arrived, they probably would have needed several days just to study its movents and habits, creating a strategy that minimized risks while giving them the highest possible chance of surviving.
That alone said enough about how dangerous this thing truly was.
And yet... Leon had no interest in dragging this battle out.
Not when he already had an opening. Not when the minotaur was restrained.
And definitely not when he had just acquired a skill powerful enough to completely change the flow of combat.
So the mont he saw his chance, he used it.
ECLIPSE SLASH!
The instant Leon unleashed the attack, hundreds of crimson-white slashes exploded outward around the minotaur’s neck, each one carrying terrifying force as they tore through the air one after another without pause.
Every slash contained the entirety of Leon’s strength behind it.
The minotaur’s greatest advantage had always been its monstrous durability, but under the relentless assault of [Eclipse Slash], even that overwhelming constitution began to fail almost imdiately.
The first few slashes carved deeply into its neck. The next ones tore straight through muscle and bone.
And before even a full second had passed—
SLASH!
The minotaur’s neck was severed completely.
Its massive head separated from its body as dark blood erupted everywhere.
But the attack didn’t stop there, because the remaining eclipse slashes continued tearing through the creature’s body, slicing apart its arms, then its legs, until the gigantic monster collapsed violently onto the ruined street below.
BOOM!
The ground shook from the impact.
Leon landed a few ters away, slowly lowering his sword as the crimson aura around the blade faded little by little.
"...Yeah," he muttered with a grin slowly spreading across his face, "I think [Celestial’s Might] got it wrong this ti."
Because honestly... This battle had never been fair. Not for the minotaur.
And just like that, barely twenty seconds after the fight had started—
Ding!
[You have killed the "Forsaken Minotaur (Boss)"]
[100% Drop Rate has triggered...]
Leon stared silently at the corpse lying in front of him for a few monts.
The once terrifying beast that had terrorized this city for years, the sa monster that Violet’s group had feared more than almost anything else in the [Forsaken City], now lay completely motionless on the ground, its body cut apart from every direction, its eyes hollow and lifeless.
It had probably killed dozens of players over the years.
And yet in the end... It died in less than half a minute.
"How ironic," Leon chuckled softly as he rested his sword over his shoulder, "But don’t worry."
His eyes slowly turned toward the direction of the [Forsaken Castle].
"Your king is next."
Every major threat in this entire section of the city was already gone.
The [Forsaken Legion] had been annihilated. The spiders were dead. And now the [Forsaken Minotaur] had fallen too.
Only the dangers near the castle itself still remained.
"...I really don’t have much longer in this place," Leon thought quietly.
He had only arrived yesterday.
Not even a full day had passed since he entered the assessnt, and yet he was already nearing the end of it.
Honestly, even Leon himself hadn’t expected things to progress this quickly.
Of course, if he had been alone from the start, everything would probably have been far harder, because despite his strength and abilities, having Violet and the others around had still made many things easier.
That realization only reinforced sothing Leon already understood very well: no one survived forever alone. Not even the gods.
The gods themselves created armies, gathered followers, and surrounded themselves with powerful allies because they knew that fighting the world alone was essentially suicide, no matter how powerful soone beca.
Which was exactly why Leon also intended to eventually build his own group.
One capable of standing beside him against the gods themselves.
"Oh well."
Leon exhaled softly before opening his [Storage Space], ready to check what kind of rewards the minotaur had dropped.
But before he could—
FWOOSH! BOOM!
The rubble behind him suddenly exploded outward.
Several figures burst out from beneath the destroyed remains of the building.
"Damn it..." Godrick groaned loudly as he shoved chunks of debris aside with brute force, "Good thing we reacted fast enough..."
Leon turned around just in ti to see Godrick erge completely from the wreckage, carrying Alicar over one shoulder while the elf archer wiped blood from the side of his face.
Oasis ca out shortly after, wearing a tallic suit of armor Leon had never seen before, likely another one of her inventions.
And surrounding all of them was a massive purple crystal sphere.
Leon imdiately recognized it as Violet’s doing.
She had clearly activated one of her defensive abilities right before the building collapsed, shielding the group from most of the impact.
Aside from Alicar, who looked sowhat injured after having debris fall onto him during the escape, the rest seed mostly fine.
"We need to find Leon now," Violet shouted imdiately after stepping out, her expression serious as she turned forward. "Then all of you need to run while I stall the mino—"
She stopped mid-sentence. Because the mont her eyes landed ahead of her...She saw the corpse.
Everyone did.
The gigantic body of the [Forsaken Minotaur] lay across the ruined street, completely severed and motionless.
The group froze.
"T-This is..." Oasis slowly raised a hand to her mouth in disbelief. "The [Forsaken Minotaur]..."
"He’s dead?!" Godrick’s jaw nearly dropped. "HOW?! WHAT THE HELL KILLED THAT THING?!"
Since they had been focused entirely on escaping the collapsing building, none of them had actually witnessed Leon’s fight.
And it was only then, after staring at the corpse for several seconds, that they finally noticed the lone figure standing calmly beside it.
Leon smiled casually.
"Hey," he waved slightly, "You guys weren’t coming out, so I handled him myself. Honestly, I’m not sure why you were all so scared of this guy."
