But, can the past really just be forgotten like that? Can those sins truly be treated as if they never occurred? Can the wails of the anguished souls beneath the underworld simply be ignored?
To this question, Kamo Aki did not know the answer. As one of the possibly only two people who knew the truth, she had been tornted these days, the clash between her duties and conscience often waking her from nightmares.
It wasn’t just her; even Master Seii felt the sa way.
Miss Vice-Captain looked up at the office of the Bureau Chief, tightly closed, then sighed helplessly.
And at that mont, the gates of the Yin Yang Bureau were suddenly slamd open, and a figure stumbled in.
This was a witch dressed in lavish attire. Upon seeing this person’s outfit, Kamo Aki frowned; it was a Chinese Clan Witch.
However, this Chinese Clan Witch, who normally paid great attention to her deanor and interests, now appeared quite disheveled. Her luxurious clothes were in disarray, and her still sowhat pretty face was filled with fear. Especially her eyes, bloodshot, and the dark circles underneath them were particularly alarming.
She no longer looked like a normal person, but rather like a lunatic.
Out of control? But I didn’t sense any Demon Nature?
The on-duty Onmyoji, upon seeing this situation, instinctively wondered if this person had secretly practiced Hyakki Buddhist Dharma and was losing control due to the Demon Nature erosion.
However, the Onmyoji cast several Yin Yang Techniques for detecting Demon Nature, and the results showed everything was normal.
"Monster, a Fox Demon is trying to harm . Save , save ."
Seeing so many Onmyoji present, this seemingly mad mber of the Chinese Clan was overjoyed. Her eyes were full of a desperate desire to survive, yet such an expression made her seem even more insane.
"Great General... No, that thing is not the Great General at all. It’s a Monster, a Fox Demon, a Devil..."
"Hehehe, everyone has gone mad. I have too, all because of that thing."
"Hehehe, but she’s so beautiful, too beautiful, I can’t control myself. Everyone can’t help but want to get close to her..."
"Save , please save , I don’t want to be controlled by that thing..."
This person indeed seed insane. Her babbling was disjointed, making it hard to understand what she wanted to express.
Finally, Kamo Aki stepped forward, and she and the previously bored Saionji Kaori approached, casting several calming talismans.
Fortunately, the power of the talismans was effective; the frenzied Chinese Clan mber finally quieted down, her face of fear subsiding sowhat and gradually becoming peaceful.
"Thank you, both of you, I feel much better."
She finally displayed so of the grace expected of a mber of the Chinese Clan, thanking them with etiquette.
"Then please co with , tell what exactly happened to you."
Seeing this, Kamo Aki sighed in relief, leading the person to the consulting room, preparing to ask what had scared this mber of the Chinese Clan so badly.
"Tell , what kind of Monster was it, was it powerful?"
Upon entering the consulting room, the petite but lively Saionji Kaori couldn’t wait to ask.
She genuinely seed eager, longing for a chance to fight a Demon. Now that there was finally a clue about a Demon, she was already impatient.
"This isn’t about whether it was powerful or not."
The Chinese Clan mber paused, her once calm eyes becoming turbulent with fear due to mories, but this ti she didn’t go into a frenzy again, at least she could still communicate.
"What I’m about to tell you both is truly frightening, don’t be scared."
She looked up with eyes full of blood veins at the two Onmyoji before her, warning them.
"Mmm, mmm, go ahead, we’re professionals, we won’t be scared at all."
Saionji Kaori nodded continuously, stuck out her chest which was large for her small stature, saying this with great confidence.
Beside her, Kamo Aki also remained calm. Miss Vice-Captain wasn’t panicked at all. After all, in her mind, nothing could be scarier than the sins recorded in that diary. Now, no matter what she faced, she didn’t feel she could be scared anymore.
Then....
"Do you both believe in people coming back to life after death?"
The Chinese Clan mber spoke, and from the start, she threw the two Onmyoji Misses into bewildernt.
"Sister, don’t joke, okay? How can the dead co back to life? Life only happens once, this is common sense."
Saionji Kaori said.
As a Japanese Witch, even little children know that.
Beside her, Kamo Aki also looked at the Chinese Clan mber in confusion, wondering if she had truly gone mad, how could she suddenly start spouting nonsense.
"Hehehe, I didn’t believe it before either, but this ti I saw it with my own eyes. Great General, the Great General who was dismantled and killed along with the Heaven’s Guard Pavilion by that Foreigner not long ago, has co back. She’s now in the Yoshiwara Flower District, on the top floor of the Mirage Tower."
The Chinese Clan Witch looked at the disbelieving faces of the two Onmyoji Misses in front of her, painfully pulling at her hair, the falling strands scattering across the interrogation table.
