Chapter 1347: Chapter 748: Midnight Deal
Late at night, in the guest room of Audrey Manor.
Dorothy, having just bathed, changed into her beloved dragon onesie, then leapt high and landed heavily on the soft bed, enjoying the embrace of the mattress and the high-quality Angel’s Velvet quilt.
Buster and Fafnir, who were already lying on the bed, were bounced high by their master’s sudden movent.
Little Black Cat seed calm about this; the cat’s good balance allowed her to gracefully adjust her body and land gently, even taking the ti to observe her silly little sister.
The young Juvenile Dragon, although capable of flight, was a bit timid and beca flustered when startled. Moreover, unlike ordinary dragon-types that fly by flapping their wings, she had a jet structure, causing her to flap her wings uselessly in panic. Finally, rembering she was a jet-propelled dragon, she released a bit too much dragon fire in her haste and turned into a red streak heading straight for the ceiling.
Fortunately, just as the frightened Juvenile Dragon was about to test the ceiling’s strength with her face, a soft magic barrier appeared in front of her. This barrier, like a fishing net, caught her and gently bounced her back.
Then, a black figure agilely leapt up, grabbed the little Juvenile Dragon by the scruff of her neck, landed steadily, and placed her back on the bed.
“Aww… Rawr….”
Being rescued, Fafnir looked tearfully at her sister, her supposedly majestic and fierce dragon eyes filled with admiration of “my sister is amazing.”
As for her sister’s admiration, Buster proudly lifted her head, looking relaxed. Then, with graceful cat steps, she walked to the owner, who was lying on the bed, kicking her legs and looking at a magic book, curious to see what her owner was up to.
Fafnir also quickly ran to the other side of the owner, craning her neck to look at the contents of the spellbook before the owner.
Though she hadn’t been to school, dragons didn’t need school. Dragon clan knowledge was passed on through bloodlines, so she was literate.
Unlike Buster on the other side…..
Little Black Cat blinked, looking utterly confused.
Well, she’s just a magic wand; you can’t expect a magic wand to have much culture. She just needs to perfectly execute her master’s will.
“Rawr…. Aww….”
Beside her, Fafnir seed to notice her elder sister’s distress. She growled softly, helping her elder sister by reading out the content of the owner’s spellbook.
“ow… Rawr…”
However, Buster was not appreciative. Little Black Cat felt embarrassed in front of her sister and let out a low growl, then curled into a black cat ball, pretending to sleep.
But her twitching cat ears betrayed her.
Fortunately, the little Juvenile Dragon was not intimidated by her sister’s pride; she continued happily translating for her sister.
anwhile, Dorothy paid no mind to the interaction between these two adorable creatures; she was busy high-intensity internet surfing, wasn’t she?
“Zero, help collect all the information on the Phantom of the Opera from the entire Magic Network.”
She instructed her intelligent assistant.
Lately, in her spare ti, she had updated her spellbook with so minor upgrades. Besides updating so hardware configurations, she also uploaded a sub-body of Zero into the spellbook, thereby gaining a small Magic Network assistant.
Zero, being a necromantic chanical entity with self-awakened artificial intelligence, felt like a fish in water while surfing the Magic Network and could easily help Dorothy gather so fragnted information from the Magic Network, stuff that she found difficult to find on her own.
However, using Zero just this way was sowhat of an underutilization.
Dorothy’s next step was planning to collect so high-level materials and handcraft a high-level Differentiation Machine. By then, Zero’s chanical body’s powerful computing ability could be unleashed, and it could help more, like analyzing and computing so spell paraters.
It’s not difficult; after all, during Witch’s Night, her good sister once developed a finished Differentiation Machine, although the dream paraters are generally not reliable, Witch’s Night is not an ordinary dream. Dorothy felt that with slight adjustnts and modifications, the design could produce a fully functional version.
The materials are not easy to find, though. After all, as a pure chanical structure computer, the Differentiation Machine is limited by physical materials and difficult to make as compact and convenient as computers from her past life. The higher the computation, the larger the Differentiation Machine inevitably becos; in extre cases, one machine could be as large as a mountain or even an entire world.
Of course, those were the laws of her past life’s physics. In Witch World, a more subjective world, there are plenty of ans to address such issues. After all, witches can transform the world into jewelry worn on their bodies.
The hobody witch decided to first try finding lightweight materials. If they really couldn’t be found, then she might have to buy a world sphere or sothing and actually create a world-sized Differentiation Machine.
But that’s really expensive; her funeral savings are nowhere near enough—far from it.
