Capítulo 1354: Chapter 751: Transaction in Progress
Venus City Outer Ring, Starfire Bar.
This is a legendary bar that has been here for millennia. It’s said that even in those distant days when Lord Demon King had yet to show his brilliance, and Night City was still under the shadows of the Thirteen Vampire Clan Families, this bar was already in existence.
And now, over thirty thousand years have passed, and this place still stands stoutly. Despite its ups and downs, teetering on the brink of bankruptcy or facing succession issues, it has managed to endure, and under its current 32nd owner, it shows signs of growth and expansion.
Today, it’s the liveliest bar in the entire Outer Ring. Aside from the endless stream of Outer City District patrons, there are often plenty of Inner City District guests who co by fa. If you were to hold vigil here daily, you’d even spot many of Night City’s rising new stars or long-standing celebrities in disguise.
But that’s normal; after all, everyone knows that Starfire’s hostess has her ways throughout the city. She’s one of Night City’s most famous talent scouts and interdiaries. Many stars in the entertainnt industry today were picked up, trained, and nurtured by her back in the day.
People tend to be nostalgic. Many legendary figures who once walked out from Starfire Bar sotis return to “have a look at ho.” When in good spirits, they might perform on stage, boosting the bar’s popularity.
Thus, Starfire Bar is nearly packed every night. So guests co for simple fun, others to try their luck eting their idols, and so hoping to catch the hostess’s eye and soar to fa thereafter.
In general, this place is a mix of all sorts of people.
But really, what’s the issue?
After all, Starfire’s consistent rule is masquerade entry. Guests should co dressed up and abandon their true identities, embracing the impending night of unrestrained revelry as new free spirits.
Here, you don’t need to care about anything else; just indulge yourself freely.
“Tsk, another Phantom Thief Jack, Theresa, how many Miss Phantom Thieves have we seen tonight? I know it’s Phantom Thief Day tonight, but there are too many Miss Phantom Thieves. Just toss a cup randomly, and you can hit a dozen Phantom Thief Jacks.”
The young Red-haired Witch, dressed in a black-and-white Butler Uniform, looked sowhat bored at the new guests at the bar door and then complained to her companion beside her.
“Dante, the boss has instructed, the custor is god, whatever they wish to dress as is their freedom.”
Theresa, sporting two thick braided pigtails and wearing black-frad glasses, shrugged indifferently.
However, she still glanced at the newcor at the door.
Just as Dante said, this guest was also decked out in the classic Phantom Thief Jack outfit: a black tailcoat, black top hat, and a butterfly mask covering the top half of the face.
This was the most common attire in the bar tonight.
Well, what can you do when Phantom Thief Jack has just publicly toyed with the city’s guards and fled in such an elegant and composed manner?
To the Demon Witches, that’s just too cool, making it irresistible. Naturally, many imitators erged, with so even suggesting today be dubbed as Phantom Thief Day henceforth, and Witch Opera House could be directly renad Thieves’ Joy House or sothing.
Sure, don’t look now, but while the city’s big shots are frantic due to Miss Phantom Thief, it doesn’t concern the ordinary city folks. Who really cares if that Demon Lord’s Love Letter was genuinely stolen; as long as there’s sothing to watch, it’s enough for them.
Theresa’s gaze, however, lingered on the back of the newly arrived Phantom Thief guest until the guest disappeared into the crowd inside the bar.
“Hey, Dante, I always feel like this Miss Phantom Thief is a bit special.”
She furrowed her brows and whispered this to her sister beside her.
“Special? What’s so special about it? You don’t think it’s the real one, do you? Co on, I think we should be more concerned about D that old drunkard; she wouldn’t have died on so woman, would she?”
Dante, however, didn’t care about this. Instead, she was complaining about their boss whom they hadn’t seen all day.
“Even though it’s your family’s matter, I still think, Dante, it’s not appropriate to talk about your mother like that. Be careful your sister hears and beats you up.”
Theresa kindly reminded her.
But the young Steward Witch wasn’t going to heed that.
“Hehe, can V really hit ? I’m not afraid of her, you know? Uh…..”
Before Dante could finish, she suddenly felt a chill behind her, and saw a cold-faced blue-haired beauty standing behind her, causing her face to instantly put on a flattering smile.
“Yo, isn’t it my dearest sister, ma’am?”
But before she could finish speaking, the blue-haired beauty knocked her down with a swift punch.
“V, let tell you, don’t overstep; do you really think I wouldn’t dare to fight back?”
