Chapter 1374: Chapter 759: Father and Daughter
Although she was his own daughter, Adam always thought Dorothy was quite mysterious.
Witch offspring are born with mory, so most are quite precocious, but this child of his was unusually so.
Adam still rembers when he secretly took Dorothy away from Euphilia’s Shining Territory. During that escape, his daughter, still swaddled, opened her eyes and gave him a strange look.
It wasn’t the gaze of a little witch who had just been born; it felt more like an exchange with a peer.
Perhaps he was indeed under too much pressure from being hunted, needing soone to talk to, or he was frightened by his daughter’s strange gaze. He couldn’t help but explain his motives.

Adam didn’t really expect his daughter to understand, especially since even though she was born with mory, rembering and understanding are two different things. You can’t expect a little witch without a developed sense of right and wrong to grasp your struggles.
But his daughter actually nodded and then fell asleep a bit more at ease.
From then on, the old father vaguely sensed that his daughter might be sowhat unusual.
And interacting with her later only confird this more for Adam. After all, which family’s child could prepare their own milk formula and change their own diapers right after birth? It was absurd.
Though a fully automated daughter indeed made things easier—after all, as a single man, he didn’t know how to take care of kids. Even though he had cramd a lot of parenting knowledge to gain the trust of that Dragon Queen, theory and practice are different; Adam at the ti was a theoretical king with zero practical experience.
He was still considering whether to find a wet nurse for her care, but his daughter’s self-sufficiency dismissed that idea, and he even started to doubt whether the parenting books he had read were all nonsense.
Really, raising a child wasn’t as difficult as described in books. Clearly, you just need to provide so basic supplies, like bottles, formula, and diapers, and the kid could handle the rest.
However, although her ‘intelligence’ made it stress-free, Adam inexplicably felt a bit disappointed. Though an obedient and sensible daughter is adorable, being too well-behaved can create a strange distance.
Indeed, seeing other people’s daughters snuggle into their fathers’ arms, asking to be lifted high or to ride on their dad’s shoulders, the scene seed quite harmonious.

Besides, enhancing the father-daughter bond didn’t necessarily have to involve child-like gas. He quickly discovered his daughter’s interest in magic and tried teaching her so magic basics.
Though teaching an infant witch complex magic theories seed absurd, Adam didn’t expect her to really understand. He mainly wanted to use this to get closer.
It proved effective; whether his daughter understood the magic theories or not, their relationship beca much closer due to these regular lessons.
At least, it wasn’t the silent stares from before; now they could chat about magic knowledge.
This was pretty good, given the constant pressure from being hunted. Having soone to talk to, even a bit of chit-chat, felt really lucky.
And as talking beca a habit, he taught her not just magic knowledge but also adventuring basics, life experiences, ideals, morals, and they discussed everything.
Initially, Adam hoped to instill proper morals in his daughter since her lineage contained half the Dragon Bloodline from her mother. The Dragon Witch’s bloodthirsty and aggressive instincts greatly influence a young witch’s character. Her views should be inford early to prevent bloodline corrosion; otherwise, even without Euphilia’s influence, she’d walk the path of most Dragon Witches.
Unfortunately, while his daughter showed interest in other knowledge, she constantly rolled her eyes during moral lessons, ignoring her chattering old dad.
At first, this worried Adam, but over ti, he stopped ntioning it as much.
One reason was the realization that, in this parenting life, the initial experience of fatherhood made him gradually see that a child is independent, not a parental possession. He felt less compelled, and perhaps it wasn’t his place, to impose his ideas on her.
