Chapter 1617: Chapter 856: Rest and Recovery
Fenrir energetically recounted to Dorothy and Artie the countless legends of Adam’s past. In her words, this Mr. Hero was practically the epito of the heroic profession, completing almost every heroic deed imaginable—a legend among legends.
However, these stories often seed to be “allegedly” true, hearsay from others, making their authenticity sowhat questionable.
Artie listened with an eye-roll, feeling that this Miss Dog-Witch was too blinded by her fan-girl filter. After all, could anyone be that perfect?
But Dorothy listened with great interest. Although she also found Fenrir’s stories seemingly absurd, as if tales of multiple heroes were stitched into one person, she considered Adam’s character and the outrageous power of the Brave Adam they had just encountered.
Hmm, she could only say that perhaps, it wasn’t entirely untrue.
“So why did he co to Night City anyway? He’s not here to save the Witch World, is he?”
Artie suddenly noticed a blind spot and asked.
According to Miss Dog-Witch’s story, Mr. Hero’s life was spent either saving the world or on his way to save it, never stopping for a mont. So his presence in Night City might indicate that sothing significant was about to happen.
But Night City seed quite peaceful, with no signs of any major events on the horizon.
That was Miss Demon King’s opinion.
Yet, when she said this, Dorothy was taken aback.
Artie might not be aware of what’s to co, but as soone from the future, the hobody witch knew exactly what was going to happen.
The upcoming events in Night City would indeed be tumultuous, and the main culprits who would cause the upheaval transferring the city’s ownership were none other than she and Artie.
Goodness, could it be that her father was here to target the two of them?
Dorothy broke into a cold sweat.
She quickly shook her head, dismissing this notion. After all, that wasn’t how the real history played out, nor was there any storyline in “Lies and Tricks” involving a chaotic intrusion by a human hero.
Hmm, just a coincidence, it must be just a coincidence.
“What’s the matter? Can’t Mr. Adam save the Witch World? He’s certainly more powerful than most witches, alright.”
Hearing Artie’s words, which were clearly ant to provoke, Fenrir felt a bit unhappy at her idol being underestimated, yet this ti Miss Dog-Witch lacked the strength to argue back.
“Ha, look up at the twin suns in the sky and think about whether this world really needs a human hero to save it.”
Miss Demon King smirked dismissively and said.
Click, click, click, isn’t everyone an apocalyptic factor? She was destined to bring endless disaster to the Witch World with her innate demon king destiny pattern. But what good was that? Being a villain in this damn Witch World was like playing on hell mode.
As long as the twin suns were in the sky, she as the future demon king was dood to unable to stir up any significant waves.
But it didn’t matter; destiny or whatever, who cared? Whoever wanted to handle it could do so. Anyway, she was done with it. She just wanted to live a safe and shaless life with her teacher now.
As for Artie’s words, even Fenrir remained silent.
Though she was indeed close to Mr. Adam, she would not go so far as to compare Mr. Hero to the twin kings in the sky.
A human hero could only save the human world, while the Witch World had its witch heroes. The two suns in the sky were the witch heroes who would save them.
“Alright, alright, you two calm down for a mont.”
Seeing the two of them going back and forth, Dorothy had to step in to diate.
“Aren’t we at your house yet?”
She asked Fenrir, trying to change the subject.
“We’re already here, just ahead.”
Miss Dog-Witch pointed to a fairly large mansion not far off.
It was clear that Fenrir held so status within Avalon Village, as the mansion she pointed to was one of the two largest and best-located in the entire community.
However…..
“Oh my, it’s such a ss, truly like a doghouse.”
Before Dorothy could speak, Artie bluntly comnted.
But this ti it really wasn’t Miss Demon King’s sharp tongue at fault; she was just speaking the truth.
The hobody witch was also bewildered by the sight of this mansion, chaotic enough to be a horror movie set. She wouldn’t have thought anyone actually lived here if Fenrir hadn’t said so; she would’ve assud it was an abandoned house.
Although the mansion’s structure was fairly intact, the garden was overgrown, with weeds almost as tall as a person. The only clear area was cluttered with all sorts of fitness equipnt, and the corner was piled with a bunch of discarded wooden dummy stakes and other props like sofas.
Dorothy then glanced at the neighbor’s place.
The houses were identical, yet the neighbor’s garden was neatly trimd with blooming flowers and various landscaped elents, compared to Fenrir’s side.
Sigh…
The hobody witch sighed.
She should have anticipated it, considering that Miss Dog-Witch was quite rough around the edges herself.
No makeup on her face, her hairstyle evidently self-cut in a chaotic ss as if chewed by a dog, and her magic robe was a plain standard teacher’s robe, faded from washing.
