Dorothy naturally didn't know what the cool, sowhat aloof secretary was really thinking as she led the way.
She just watched Miss Ghost Mask's peachy behind sway with her steps, marveling at how the Judgnt Court truly deserved its reputation as an elite departnt, considering that even a secretary, who seed to be responsible for clerical work, was so incredibly skilled.
Really, she almost failed to notice the secretary sneaking up behind her. Luckily, Miss Ghost Mask ultimately chose the wrong Stealth Spell. Of all the spells, she had to use the Witch's Akarin Technique to erase her presence.
Heh, playing with witch-related spells in front of the Witch of the Forest herself was like brandishing a broadsword before Guan Yu; therefore, Dorothy eventually detected the familiar spell fluctuations and saw through Miss Ghost Mask's trace.
But, if Miss Ghost Mask had used a different Stealth Spell, Dorothy reckoned she would have been utterly blind to it.
"Ah, damn it, my Magic Power is growing too slowly, only just over thirty thousand. Without a boost in Magic Power, I can't enhance my Body Attribute, and all my skills suffer because of it," Ho Martial Soul thought sowhat distressed.
And the Miss Ghost Mask in front of her, darn, she's really strong, a young Genius Witch with over two hundred thousand Mana.
Tsk, how co there are so many geniuses in this broken world? Are geniuses worthless now? Don't even let a regular witch have a way out, shivering timbers.
She had started to worry a bit about her future. After all, she had been safe back at the academy, but joining the Judgnt Court probably ant she couldn't avoid competing and fighting with others anymore. What would she do when she encountered enemies while on missions?
Real battles weren't like the Arena. Not only was there no protection from False Life, but opponents wouldn't be stupid enough to lower their Attributes to compete fairly. Could her frail body really withstand that?
"Dora-Fanny, you better cover for when we co across soone I can't beat,"
Dorothy rather shalessly sought rescue from Masked Senior Sister in her mind.
To this, senior Fanny was quite disdainful.
"Look at you, losing face. Scared now, are you?"
But in the end, the senior sister still comforted her Master a bit.
"Don't worry, Dorothy dear, you're now a witch civil servant. When have you ever seen anyone from the Council of Sages suffer a loss? You'll soon understand the power of being on the payroll," she said.
"Uh... what does that an?"
Dorothy was confused, but Masked Senior Sister, being cryptic as ever, wouldn't tell her. She felt as uncomfortable as if a cat were scratching at her heart, feeling toughened, her fists toughened.
"Your Excellency the Clown, you can register your identity at the front desk. Do you have your Identity Token with you?"
Just as Dorothy was still appreciating the scenic view, the scenery abruptly turned around and said this to her.
Ho Martial Soul then snapped back to reality and looked around, only to realize she had unwittingly arrived at a large circular hall.
"Oh, the Main God Hall?"
Seeing the massive orb floating in the center of the hall, Dorothy popped up with question marks.
Fortunately, she looked around and noticed that there were several counters around the hall, not rooms for Reincarnators.
"That's the task inquiry center. All judges can go there to search and accept tasks suitable for themselves, but you have to go to the counter to submit tasks,"
Seeing His Excellency the Clown looking puzzled, Miss Ghost Mask dutifully started explaining.
But in fact, Dorothy didn't need any explanation to understand that the huge sphere was a gigantic Magic Network terminal, sothing that was no challenge to her, an honorary mber of the Bookmaker Association.
"Um, thank you."
However, Ho Martial Soul still thanked the secretary Miss after that, and then reached into her pocket for the silver Identity Token that Mother Superior had only given her recently.
"Ah, this…"
Just as Dorothy was about to go to the nearby counter to register, she heard a gasp from Miss Ghost Mask beside her, causing her to pause and look at the secretary Miss with confusion.
"What is it?"
Miss Ghost Mask's eyes were wide open at this mont, full of amazent as she stared at the Identity Token in her hand.
"Nothing, sorry, I was just startled by your Excellence's Silver dal."
Facing the inquiry, the secretary Miss, realizing that she had been rude, bowed skillfully in apology before speaking sowhat embarrassedly.
"Uh, is there sothing special about this Identity Token? Isn't it the sa for everyone?"
Dorothy was utterly bewildered by this information that Mother Superior had never ntioned to her.
"Of course, they are not the sa, the Judgnt Court's hierarchy is divided into four levels, each with Identity Tokens made of different materials."
"The highest rank is the Gold dal, of which there are only three, symbolizing the three Great Judges."
"Below the Gold dal is the Silver dal, with a total of one hundred and eight, representing one hundred and eight Grand Inquisitors."
"Beneath the Silver dal is the Bronze dal, which there are a total of one hundred and eight thousand, signifying the Elite Judges."
"And at the bottom is the lowly Iron dal, which is unlimited in number; the clerical staff and regular Judges of the Judgnt Court all have Iron dals."
As Miss Ghost Mask explained this, she took out a dark and gloomy Black Iron Token from her pocket, which looked just like Dorothy's, with dragon script on the front and a Dragon Head emboss on the back.
"In addition to the levels of the Tokens, there are three major factions. For instance, both yours and mine are Dragon dals, signifying that we are under the Great Judge of Annihilation. Apart from the Dragon dal, there are also the God dal and Demon dal, engraved with an Angel and a Demon respectively, representing the other two Great Judges."
The secretary sister was very thorough and responsible in her explanation.
After the explanation, Miss Ghost Mask couldn't help but treat the person in front of her, His Excellency the Clown, with even more respect.
Although she had guessed earlier that he was an influential figure, she never imagined he would be so prestigious. To join and start off as a Grand Inquisitor - he was the boss's boss! She had to serve him well, for her future promotion and salary increase might depend on his word.
This revelation also startled Dorothy as she looked at the Silver dal in her hand and couldn't help but feel that a child with a mother indeed is a treasure.
It truly was favoritism from the mother; this sort of backdoor entry ant starting a job just one step below the peak of her life, with only one step away from the summit.
When she took the Token to the counter, the young lady at the counter first showed surprise, then respectful gaze as she completed the registration.
The process was actually quite simple, consisting of filling in a few forms, taking a photo, and then the young lady behind the counter scanned Dorothy's Identity Token in a machine, finishing the process.
When Ho Martial Soul took her Identity Token back, she frowned upon discovering that this originally solely for teleportation Token suddenly had a plethora of new privileges.
...Dorothy pondered...
