Within the Witch World, there are many modes of transportation, among which the two main avenues are as follows.
One is the Void Transition, which primarily utilizes spatial abilities, essentially employing specific spaceti tunnels like wormhole networks for high-speed interstellar travel.
If it were a low-level civilization, they might at best be able to use so natural wormholes that exist in the universe for transition, which is highly risky and uncontrollable. It's quite possible that one day these natural wormholes could collapse. However, the witches have long mastered the technology to autonomously construct wormhole networks, as evidenced by the portals that are seen everywhere in the Witch World.
But unlike fixed portals, the Void Transition systems mounted on vehicles tend to be more flexible and high level, requiring the ability to transition at any ti and place, even without any existing wormhole networks nearby to utilize. You must have the ability to forge your own path through the wormholes and then proceed.
As a result, these Void Transition systems are often complex and expensive.
They require a high-level individual with mastery of Space Law for guidance and construction, and the materials used must also contain a lot of space-affinitive substances. The cost is exorbitant, not to ntion the massive magic power needed to activate the Void Transition.
In short, it's typically only high-end Witch Warships that are equipped with such Void Transition systems.
The White Dragon Warship, which Dorothy and her companions joked about, naturally couldn't afford such high-end devices. They used another mode of transition, the Spirit World Transition.
As a spiritual realm, the world of souls, the Spirit World actually lacks any real concept of ti and space, much like how you might spend years in a dream, but in reality, only half an hour passes.
In the Spirit World, everything is driven by the heart; as long as you dare to think it and have sufficient strength, phenona like 'a second spans a thousand years' or 'a mont traverses ten thousand miles' are not difficult to achieve.
Utilizing this characteristic, the viability of Spirit World Transition is established; just convert the vehicle into a spirit form, enter the Spirit World, and travel rapidly to your destination with the Power of the Heart. Then revert to physical form and break free from the Spirit World.
The principle is that simple.
Moreover, since the main consumption point of the Spirit World Transition is rely the vessel's conversion between physical and ethereal states, the requirents for manufacturing costs and energy consumption are much lower.
Well, doesn't that make the Spirit World Transition seem much more convenient and advanced than the Void Transition?
But in reality, Spirit World Transition has always been equipped on mid-to-low-end vehicles, and its status is nowhere near that of the Void Transition.
The reason is simple: because the risks of the Spirit World Transition are much higher than those of the Void Transition.
At most, with Void Transition, one might worry about the ship losing control or the unfortunate encounter with a void storm and such, at worst amounting to traffic-accident-level danger. For the witches, such risks are not considered significant; just carrying so space protective gear is enough, so even in the event of an accident, lives can be saved.
However, Spirit World Transition is a different matter entirely as the Spirit World has never been a peaceful or friendly place.
As a realm of spirits and souls, many elusive entities in reality beco tangible in the Spirit World, such as deities created by the beliefs of all beings, ghosts and monsters shaped by urban legends, and even the spiritual projections of great beings...
In short, who knows what you might encounter in the Spirit World, which makes traveling through it a very dangerous thing. You might inadvertently collide with sothing you should not have and not even know how you died.
Nonetheless, the Witch World remains a realm of the Calamity Race, and naturally, they are not completely helpless in the face of the Spirit World; at least within the Witch World, travel through the Spirit World is not too dangerous.
The protection of the world's will is not only in the real world but also effective in the Spirit World. The various monsters wandering through the cosmos are all kept out by the world's will, and the spiritual projections of The Third King, the Council of Sages, and many other powerful witches suppress everything that does not submit within the realm.
Therefore, as long as the witches operate in the Spirit World within the Witch World, it's actually pretty safe.
And the reason why vehicles equipped with Spirit World Transition systems are all mid-to-low level is that their range is limited to travelling within the Witch World.
But once outside the Witch World, the risks associated with Spirit World travel beco exceedingly high. Many evil entities in the Spirit World are rely aggregations of pure malice, lacking in consciousness, unable to communicate; they chase and attack you on sight, which is extrely aggravating.
Even powerful witches are like tyrants in the Spirit World and can roam freely, but the feeling of being surrounded by a swarm of mosquitoes is uncomfortable just to think about—why bother with such unease?
Dorothy constructed the White Dragon Warship with the intent of it being a family-car-level vehicle, so there were no plans for interdinsional trips; being able to drive it within the Witch World was already impressive. Thus, the inexpensive and practical Spirit World Transition was sufficient for her.
