In her perception, Father Adam couldn't really be called dead nor deceased. It was more like his story had concluded, his role had ended, so he had temporarily exited the stage.
It was like if you were an actor's daughter and saw your dad's character die in a TV show, would you feel sad?
Probably not. You might even mockingly say while watching TV with your dad lying on the couch beside you, "Dad, you're so la, dying so soon. Got your al ticket really fast, couldn't you have lived a few more episodes?"

She knew that once Witch's Night was over and she returned ho, she would still see Adam lively and hopping around.
