Chapter 932: 578. Japan

“Eh, my cousin? Wait, are you…..”

Wenwen looked at the Ghost Mask Judge blocking her path, and she was also taken aback. She hadn’t expected soone among these wicked people would plead for her.

Even the Wind God Girl doubted whether the other person had mistaken her identity, knowing her maternal mother was from that hidden island. She might encounter a bunch of cousins, but hardly any cousins, since on her grandmother’s side, people were quite reclusive.

The Wind God Girl looked at the dark wings behind her. Her paternal mother, the current editor-in-chief of the “Witch Daily,” was indeed a Fallen Angel Witch, but her mother was a Japanese Witch, a Tengu Witch who used the mythical Great Demon Tengu of Eastern Yingzhou as an Evolution Template.

The Japan in the Witch World has always been a very mysterious place. Legends say the island is inhabited by Immortals who migrated from the Eastern Universe.

The witches have always been curious about the Immortals, especially the new generation of witches who are even more so.

After all, during the Divine King and Dragon King Era, exchanges between the Eastern and Western Universe were not frequent but did happen, and occasionally, witches would see a few Immortals who traveled to the Western Universe.

However, in the modern Era of the Demon Lord, the storms of the Sea of Nothingness have severed contacts between the Eastern and Western Universe, and the understanding new-generation witches have of their ancient and powerful neighbors is confined to so ancient legends passed down in books.

Where there’s curiosity, there’s demand, generating flow and creating hotspots, and a competent journalist would never miss such a hotspot.

Back then, Wenwen’s paternal mother, the daughter of a Sage who had not yet beco editor-in-chief of the “Witch Daily,” was such a journalist with keen curiosity about Immortal legends and an adventurous spirit.

When she learned from ancient historical legends that so Immortals had migrated to the Witch World and that there had been intermarriage history, giving rise to a unique Witch Territory called “Japan,” the young editor-in-chief decided to embark on a journey.

She wanted to find that legendary Immortal retreat, to see the mysterious Witch Territory that supposedly retained quite authentic Eastern Universe customs and scenery, and if possible, docunt her observations and publish a travel journal to unveil the mystery of Immortals for the witch audience equally curious.

The search process was not easy, but fortunately, she ultimately succeeded, even to an excessive degree. She not only found the mysterious Japan, said to drift freely in the Witch World, but also brought back a gorgeous wife, and her subsequent book “Japan Travels” beca a popular bestseller across the Western Universe, maintaining high sales over ti.

Indeed, she was a model of a successful witch life.

The popularity of “Japan Travels” indeed sparked a wave of searches for Japan in the Witch World, given the content’s authenticity was secondary, but the beautiful wife of the editor-in-chief was real. Who wouldn’t want a wife like a gentle, virtuous, and dainty Japanese Witch?

Unfortunately, Japan, as a mysterious Immortal retreat, was evidently not easy to find, and coupled with witches’ typical short-lived enthusiasm, few truly had the persistence to keep searching, resulting in very few witches managing to step onto the island afterward.

However, with enough people, there would always be a lucky few, and the traveling companions who returned wrote bestselling books like “Secret of the Snow Woman Widow,” “Sun in Dongying,” and “Disqualified Witch,” confirming the records in “Japan Travels.”

Indeed, Japan does exist, a sanctuary of the Eastern Universe’s cultural customs within the vast Witch World.

Of course, now several hundred years have passed since “Japan Travels” was published, and the wave of searching for Japan has long ended, yet Wenwen remains deeply curious about her mother’s holand.

If possible, she too would love to visit Japan like her editor mother, even though her Wind God Girl identity carries half the blood of a Japanese Witch, it still holds no hope of returning to her maternal mother’s holand.

After all, back then, although the mothers fell in love freely, they eloped.

Japan has no strict prohibition against outside witches marrying, but it requires that if the two truly decide to be together, the outside witch must join them and settle on the island permanently.

Her editor mother, then the future heir of the Wind of Freedom Society, was a free spirit like the wind, and naturally could not accept such constraints, so she secretly eloped with her lover.

Such a couple naturally dares not return to Japan.

Wenwen often saw her mother, like a gentle Japanese woman, gazing east in the Oriental garden her editor mother built for her lover, seemingly longing for her holand.
