Chapter 946: 583. The Witch’s Justice
Dorothy sized up the Angel Magistrate disguised as a receptionist in front of her. Seeing that the other party managed to suppress their anger instead of lashing out, she felt a little disappointed.
Tsk, it seems that among the witches who managed to climb to the position of Grand Inquisitor, aside from her who got there through connections, they must have so real skills. At the very least, they possess basic discernnt and won’t bite anyone like a mad dog.
Thus, the hobody witch was left with no choice but to reluctantly disperse the prepared “Ti Stop” magic. She was all set; if this so-called receptionist was truly inexperienced, she was ready to stop ti to subdue the opponent, gaining a moral high ground from which she planned to negotiate with the so-called Grand Angel Judge.
Unfortunately, the plan was beautiful, but reality was harsh. The opponent didn’t give her any opportunity.
“Damn, Fairy King, your taunts are becoming increasingly ineffective.”
The hobody witch thought disdainfully to herself.
However, with the other party not taking the bait, she had no other tricks up her sleeve. After all, if she pushed the provocations too far, it would just look like she was causing trouble, and she’d be at fault. So she waited idly as the receptionist went to contact her superior.
She didn’t have to wait long. Soon, the Angel Witch Grand Inquisitor, who was masquerading as a receptionist, put down their identity token and spoke up.
“Lord Clown, please co with ; the Chief Justice of Righteousness wishes to see you.”
Upon hearing this, Dorothy was taken aback. It was the first ti she’d heard the codena of this Grand Angel Judge.
However, the Judgnt Court’s codenas are chosen by the Judges themselves. Whether this “righteousness” is truly righteous is hard to say.
In any case, the hobody witch didn’t have a good impression of this unseen chief judge. After all, one’s stance is determined by their position. Knowing full well that Sophia hadn’t committed any fundantal wrongdoings, she would naturally be more biased toward her own family.
Still, she didn’t rush to refuse the summons from the Grand Angel Judge but nodded.
She decided to see what this bigwig was up to.
So, Dorothy turned to signal her companions to wait there, and then followed the receptionist toward the office of the Chief Justice of Righteousness.
Witches are naturally quick, and the two soon arrived at their destination.
Knock, knock, knock…
“Lord Justice, Lord Clown has arrived.”
The receptionist knocked on the door and said.
“Let her in.”
Soon, a young female voice ca from inside.
The voice was quite heroic, easily conjuring up an image of a valiant and capable female knight.
When Dorothy pushed open the door, she saw a figure at a desk, reviewing docunts.
Having already learned from Mother Superior that the Chief Justice of Righteousness was Sage Matia, one of the Thirteen Disciples, the hobody witch had expected the Angel Witch Grand Inquisitor to resemble the Academy Head—possibly even an old hag with a face full of wrinkles capable of squashing flies.
But now, when the figure at the desk raised their head, what t Dorothy’s eyes was an extraordinarily youthful and breathtakingly beautiful face that hardly looked more than twenty.
The Chief Justice of Righteousness’s appearance matched her voice perfectly; she indeed looked like a valiant female knight. Her sunlight-like blonde hair was tied into a neat ponytail, and her nation-toppling face showed no trace of makeup.
She wore a black, standard battle robe representing the Grand Inquisitor’s identity, neat and tidy as if freshly ironed, with hardly a wrinkle—a style reminiscent of Captain Qin.
Yes, she seed upright, with a serious character, possibly a bit strict.
That was the hobody witch’s first impression of the Chief Justice of Righteousness, Matia.
Though Dorothy wasn’t very skilled at prophecy magic, she knew a bit about reading faces and was fairly accurate in judging people.
Truth be told, the first impression the Chief Justice of Righteousness left on her was quite good.
Okay, she admittedly had a bit of a weakness for appearances, her moral compass easily swayed by good looks. It might sound crude to say, but the Chief Justice of Righteousness really hit the hobody witch’s aesthetic sweet spot.
Fortunately, she wasn’t soone who would abandon her friends over appearances, and she always appreciated beauty in a purely aesthetic sense, without much worldly desire.
So, after glancing briefly, Dorothy boldly walked into the office.
“Clown Inquisitor, please sit.”
The valiant female knight pointed to the chair opposite the desk, signaling the hobody witch to sit.
Dorothy, not at all shy, sat down decisively and stared directly at the Chief Justice.
Thus, the two locked eyes. A typical witch might feel pressured facing a sage’s gaze and want to avoid eye contact, but the Fairy King was fearless; even a sage couldn’t bend her will.
In this silent standoff lasting about thirty seconds, the Chief Justice of Righteousness finally smiled.
