'My husband watched the Bane Family grow weaker and weaker, yet all he cared about was Godfrey Daniels' mother.'

"It's all a ga. Getting the woman was never the goal, triggering Godfrey was. That will begin his journey."

Aina Bane frowned. Her eyes reflected the fallen imp army and their huge boss dead on his knees, but her late husband's words echoed in her ears.

That night, those last words he said to her before she left him wound through her mind, fresh like a dagger suddenly plunged into her abdon.

She was so angry back then. Her thoughts were that her husband had gone mad. What was it about an ordinary boy with no remarkable influence or family to speak of?

His mother was a good healer but wasn't good with keeping contacts with influential individuals because she wanted to avoid control more than the one already around her neck. His father was a man that fought for his city and fell.

He was a hero, but a dead one.

So why would one of the most powerful n on earth make such a declaration, unsettling the globe with such news, and yet not even want a woman that would usher in the Perfect Life Era to be caught?

He just fed the idea to the globe so they could force a boy with nothing significant to speak of into hiding, into becoming a fugitive, into being the public enemy.

It made little sense. The more she thought about it, the more that voice, that action, looked less and less rational. Was the entire world a joke to you?

Her actions led to her distance from her son and eventually his death. Her husband also died in the most unthinkable way possible, not that she would complain.

That was rcy. She would have given him a much crueller death.

'I will restore the Bane Family's power. But that boy, Godfrey, has cost so much for to turn a blind eye. With care, I will slowly corner him. He's a lion, and a wounded lion is bound to lash out viciously. I won't be there for him to lash out at, and after he does… he dies.'

Aina Bane turned. He wasn't the end goal. She had set her sights on becoming one of the Seven Heads and that ant dethroning Arthur.

Her vengeance for her son wasn't her major focus but it must, by all ans, be achieved if she was to live without all this hate boiling endlessly in her heart.

She went back into the truck and watched as the Great Might Guild went about taking what was necessary from their kill.

This party was a third-grade party. They had just one paragon and the others were lord tiers with a few king tiers. Yet one woman had brought a powerful army down to their knees.

They never believed their bullets would pierce through a demigod. Yet the impossible beca possible, right before their eyes.

"Everyone is talking about you, Lady Aina." The paragon in charge of driving the truck stood outside and bowed his head.

Aina glanced at him from the corner of her left eye. "They should hurry. The gate will soon close."

In Godfrey's soul space, Lant sat on his throne while his horse lay beside it, asleep. There were footsteps that made his eyes behind the helt shift to the left, where the huge door was opened.

Dirge walked out, her staff clicking against the flagstone.

"What brings a sister of the sanctuary to my hall?" His voice echoed.

Dirge stopped. "I am not a sister of the sanctuary. Not any longer. It's been a long ti since this change, Lant. Before our world fell, I had joined the noble knights. Why do you still call a sister of the sanctuary?"

Lant was silent.

"... Because that's how I see you."

"This is why none amongst us is close to you." Dirge's words provoked Lant into replying with a deeper, irritated tone.

"Why have you co? If the king had an order, I believe he would have spoken to ."

Dirge faced the exit. "I ca to speak to a brother but it seems you still aren't willing to change."

When she got to the door, Dirge stopped, spun, and launched her staff at Lant with a grunt. He didn't even flinch as it grazed his helt, piercing halfway through his throne.

Lant's horse jolted awake. It lifted up its forelimbs, neighing loudly. The hall shook when its hooves slamd the floor.

"YOU HAVE BEEN SITTING FOR OVER A CENTURY! YOU DO NOT DESERVE TO BE CHIEF!" Dirge's voice tore through the air, her plu fluttering as she retrieved her staff with a wave of her hand.

"Not any longer. The commander of the Black Knight is long dead. He died… on that battlefield. You're of no use to the king." Dirge clenched her teeth as she pointed at him.

"We have tried. I have tried. You're not the only one that has suffered, Lant. I have suffered, we've all suffered!!"

At that mont, Lant rose from his throne. He descended the three stairs and caressed his mount, calming it down.

"You were slaughtered…" His voice wounded her ears, then he faced her. "You had no choice. You were victims. I wasn't."

Lant slowly approached her. "I received an order, a death charge, to stop the undead lich's army. Half a million undead with three thousand. They were my friends, my brothers. I could have run, fled with my n, but I did not."

Lant stood before her.

"Do not lecture on what you know little of. Do you know what I did to beco chief? Do you know what I've sacrificed for the king with no benefit to speak of?!"

His eyes glead. "On that day, facing the biggest army in existence, I rember my words as clear as day: lift up the standard of our order! Do not fall until you've killed a hundred. This day… we make the king proud!"
