Now reading: Chapter 340: Pei Yan’s Second Death (Subscription Request) from Otherworldly Affairs Office, a Mystery novel by A flower blooms overnight for seven nights.

High above the sky, Lin Junzhao was tightly embraced by Pei Yan’s arms, still continuously ascending. Her cold, beautiful eyes stared at the man in front of her, who held a heart determined to die, and she mocked him: "You do have a bit of masculinity. I admit your courage, but don’t you think you are too naive? Do you really think you can kill this way?"

"No, I never thought that!" Pei Yan simply removed his mask, shouted into the strong wind: "As long as I can stop you, cause you a little harm, and let my sister escape and hide in the investigation hall, that’s enough!"

"Naive. Do you really think the investigation hall can stop from getting the person I want?"

"Yes!"

Upon hearing Pei Yan’s unequivocal reply, Lin Junzhao was montarily stunned, then narrowed her eyes and shouted fiercely: "So that woman is indeed in the investigation hall, you’ve seen her, haven’t you!"

Seeing the reaction on Lin Junzhao’s face, Pei Yan smiled slightly; he had not guessed wrong. Thinking back to Lin Junzhao’s words earlier and recalling the first mission where he encountered a little girl by the pond and the respectful attitude from beings from another dinsion towards her, he had deduced her identity to a degree.

He just didn’t understand why, if she and Lin Junzhao were truly arch enemies, she wouldn’t co herself to subdue her. Although he couldn’t figure out the reason, he understood that as long as his sister hid in the investigation hall, Lin Junzhao would inevitably have to conflict with that woman if she wanted to trouble her again.

If there’s even a chance, then it’s worth it. Today, even if he has to sacrifice his life, he will delay her here. Thinking this, Pei Yan’s entire Power of Origin began to go on a rampage, constantly multiplying; his body swelled, and tallic skin began to crack, revealing the azure glow of the energy within.

"Self-destruct? Don’t forget, your abilities are granted by !" Lin Junzhao was indifferent to Pei Yan’s actions, lightly tapping his chest with her hands. His rampant Power of Origin abruptly halted, and along with it, the engine behind them also shut down. Without power, they plumted rapidly from the peak.

Even though Pei Yan’s body was controlled and unable to wield his inner Power of Origin, he still clung tightly to Lin Junzhao without letting go. As they fell rapidly, Lin Junzhao shouted loudly: "Do you really want to die? I’m an energy entity; such an impact ans nothing to , but falling from this height, you’ll certainly die!"

"Then try it!" Pei Yan gritted his teeth, mobilizing the last bit of Power of Origin within to unleash a final attack.

Boom! Two figures crashed into the ground, stirring up a cloud of dust. Pei Jin, already protected by Cen Xiaoran, was heartbroken at the sight, struggling desperately to break free to check the situation, but was tightly held by Gu Shenghui and Elder Lin.

When the smoke cleared, Lin Junzhao’s sowhat disheveled figure stood up from the shallow pit, shaking off the dust clinging to her body. She casually picked off an inconspicuous nanochanical insect from her surface, her beautiful face exuding an unyielding aura as she coldly looked down at Pei Yan: "Initially using high-tech ans to forcibly solidify my body, for mutual destruction?"

After speaking, she shook her head and denied her theory: "No, no, no! You’re not that foolish!" Speaking, she bent down, rested a hand on Pei Yan’s head, easily shattered his already broken faceplate, then grabbed his head, stood up, and continued: "You want to use your death to awaken hatred for in your sister’s heart, make her reject ! Because you know you’re her weakness. If you die, your family will be strictly protected by the investigation hall, allowing her to resist unrestrainedly, isn’t that right?"

"Pah!" A mouthful of blood spat out. Now, Pei Yan could no longer answer her questions, his body slowly reverting to non-chanical form with the adverse effects of the consecutive battles gradually manifesting. His left arm, previously severed by Shitang Long Si, was necrotic-black, and a shallow sword scar over his chest appeared; his entire skeletal system had been shattered by the rapid falling impact. His consciousness blurred, losing all control and sensation of the body.

Am I really going to die now? Damn it, I’m so unlucky; why do I keep facing unbeatable opponents in inescapable situations? I clearly tried hard to get stronger, so why? Why am I still so weak?!

Unwilling, oh so unwilling! Tears slipped from Pei Yan’s eyes as he lost consciousness; he tried his best to avoid ending up like He Yue, unable to control his life, but ultimately found that in the face of stronger individuals, he still couldn’t dictate his destiny.

Glaring at the fading Pei Yan, Lin Junzhao was filled only with resentnt, because beyond the crowd, she saw the hatred and anger in Pei Jin’s eyes as Tuantuan protected her! Years of her ticulously laid plans were disrupted by such a reckless young man!

In Lin Junzhao’s original plan, she considered Pei Yan’s feelings. After escaping, she would secretly rge with Pei Jin, replacing her to continue her life, but the situation forced her to advance this plan prematurely. At this point, Pei Yan’s thoughts had beco insignificant in her eyes. However, she never thought this brat would force Pei Jin to break with her so decisively, making his sister live as an independent, complete person, even if she had to spend her remaining days in pain.

This mont, Lin Junzhao was both angry and a bit impressed by the dying man before her, sighing since the situation had reached this point, she couldn’t care whether Pei Jin was willing or not, and had to use force. Thinking this, she was about to fling Pei Yan’s corpse aside when, suddenly, a gentle light burst from Pei Yan’s body. Quickly, the light transford into threads wrapping around Lin Junzhao’s wrist, then continued climbing up her arm.

Initially, Lin Junzhao didn’t think much of it, used her Power of Origin to try to flick it away, however, instead of dispersing, the threads tightened further, imdiately alerting her!

This power isn’t my Power of Origin? Is it that woman’s? No, there is another force!

"Damn it! Is he also a ans you left to capture ?" Finally, Lin Junzhao’s face showed alarm and rage, shouting as she shook her arm, desperately trying to free herself from the encircling threads.

"Now’s the ti!" Cen Xiaoran rejoiced upon seeing this; he finally understood what the one in a thousand chance he calculated before departure was, and why the three adults were so confident when they handed him the repaired six Divine Artifacts, despite his worries.

Under Cen Xiaoran’s shout, six people holding Divine Artifacts surrounded Lin Junzhao once again. This ti, her entangled state lost all resistance, being fully suppressed by the six Divine Artifacts on-site. Coupled with the continuous energy output of the six’s array formation, Lin Junzhao’s protective Power of Origin dimd, inching into the light shadow bit by bit.

"You won’t trap again!" Lin Junzhao shouted hoarsely, entangled by the threads, and roared with desperation.
