"Boring?" Pei Yan exclaid in surprise.
"Just boring. Each of us chose two candidates, one as a suitable vessel for possession, and the other as a test subject to attempt to break human limits. We are too lonely, living endless years with immortal life. We need soone who can converse with us as equals. So, if it weren’t for you constantly pressuring , I wouldn’t want to kill you. Your sister is the vessel I wanted to acquire, and I genuinely intended to look after you like a brother."

He risked telling Engineer Li because only he could make reasonable suggestions about what equipnt Pei Yan should absorb next based on his abilities. As Pei Yan’s awakening level increased, unlike before when he could absorb large quantities of technological products to strengthen himself, the technological products he could absorb post-awakening have beco increasingly singular, forcing him to choose carefully.

In the shelter, Raphael anxiously paced back and forth in the room. After reaching an agreent with Sifuer and his group, he had secretly set up various traps and counterasures against Pei Yan. Initially, he feared Pei Yan’s early arrival would thwart his plans. But now he worried about Pei Yan’s prolonged absence.
In the light screen, Pei Yan had been inside that iron tent for three whole days. The cara he set up could only capture the periter of the tent, and Raphael and his team could see nothing of what Pei Yan was doing inside. "He didn’t leave! Great! Great!" Raphael’s eyes lit up as he heard this. He rubbed his hands together, laughing heartily.
