Just as he hesitated whether to pause the reconnaissance, the top of one of the dod black tents opened like a blossoming flower, releasing one grotesque humanoid creature after another with black bat-like wings, soaring into the sky.
Suppressing the urge to flee, Pei Yan, believing he hadn't been detected by the enemy, halted all chanical operations, quietly monitoring the subsequent actions. Comparing them to the illustration given by Lilia, Pei Yan clearly recognized these as the bat-like beings called Monitors. Using sound waves as a ans of detection and attack, these creatures were the ears of the Disaster Legion, a higher rank than mother creatures, and generally do not appear alone as combat units.
Sure enough, after these creatures were dispatched, seven or eight warriors clad in red armor swiftly followed, launching from the do. As one of the standard equipnt of the mid-level Disaster Legion, Pei Yan couldn't discern their true identities from their appearance due to their lack of demonstrated attack power. However, from their posture, it seed as though they were planning a full-on assault, and even the enslaving creatures covering the mountain started changing direction and moving slowly. Those two mother creatures were awakened from their slumber and began pouring new enslaving creatures from their tails.
Upon closer observation, Pei Yan finally determined that their actions weren't directed at him. What situation could make them abandon the crucial task of guarding the spatial barrier and switch targets? Could it be a trap targeted at him?
After a brief contemplation, Pei Yan made a decision. Regardless of the specific situation, now was a rare opportunity. Whether it was a trap or not, they had to break through here and return to the current world, reducing the casualties of the Demon Race party.
Resolving himself, Pei Yan imdiately contacted Bailang, waiting in the refuge for his information. After explaining the situation, the other party also agreed now was the ti to strike, promptly deploying the personnel prepared for the breakout to rush to Pei Yan's location.

Watching Pei Yan lightly slip through the enemy ranks, the other followers who had only heard rumors of him from Xiaonai were utterly astonished, having prepared for a deadly battle, they never expected such a smooth journey.
Pei Yan, charging through the swarm towards the mountain recess, didn't even glance at the fearless enslaving creatures lunging at him. He raised his large hand, and two electromagnetic cannons were unleashed, efficiently destroying the two mother creatures. Landing swiftly, he shouted, "Stay on alert! Xiaonai and his group understood the importance of the matter and didn't delay. They imdiately ford a fan-like guard around Pei Yan, knowing that the opponents could return at any mont. Pei Yan quickly seized the mont and found the weak point of the spatial plane using detectors. He pulled out a small wall-breaking device like a Bagua plate from his ring and fixed it accurately in the void according to the operation plan given by Gu Shenghui. As the device's light slowly intensified from the inside out, Pei Yan's gaze shifted from the wall breaker to the distance.
Breaking through the Plane Barrier required an hour. From when the defense forces had been pulled away to Xiaonai and his group's arrival, nearly three hours had passed. With the two mother creatures dead, no matter what, they should have received information about the base being attacked, yet there was no sign of reinforcents returning.
There were three possible explanations for this situation: their opponents were incredibly strong, these people were locked in a difficult battle and couldn't break away; their opponents were even more formidable, these people were directly defeated; or they were assembling more forces to counterattack the base.
Without knowing the specific circumstances, Pei Yan could only expand the defense periter on one hand and pray for the developnts to best align with the first two scenarios.
