Feeling the heavy presence of death suppressing him and the gradual draining of his own life force, Kodwen had no doubt that if he answered incorrectly, he would share the sa fate as Andrew. However, having already felt he had been struggling to survive all his life, he chose to confront Pei Yan, who was filled with murderous intent and rage, by closing his eyes silently.
"Oh my, I really didn't expect that in such a short ti, you would stand united with Sifuer against a common enemy? You can even throw your life aside; I really underestimated this noble lord's ability to win people over. If that's the case, I'll fulfill your wish!" Pei Yan said, instantly increasing the output of the death aura from his arm. He didn't believe Sifuer had any startling charm or kingship aura that would make this crafty veteran bow down. The secret that made Kodwen willingly forsake his life must align with their mutual interest or the interest of the entire Demon Race.
Pei Yan wanted to know this secret!
"Mr. Shitang, please stop! Don't harm him!" Leohard, with Ye Ruozai's longsword pressed against his throat, quickly stepped forward, shaking his shoulders and loudly advising.
"Ye, don't you see soone disregarding your threat?" Pei Yan slightly loosened his grip, and upon hearing this, Ye Ruozai imdiately withdrew his longsword and thrust it towards Leohard's throat.
"Please contact Mr. Bailang, he will explain the situation to you!" Knowing that resistance was futile, Leohard shouted hastily in his quickest speech, and the next mont Ye Ruozai's sword tip halted before Leohard's throat, turning to seek Pei Yan's opinion.
Upon hearing this, Pei Yan released his right hand, and having had a brush with death, Kodwen's body softened, and he knelt on the ground, gasping for fresh air while retching.
Sweeping his cold gaze over the two, Pei Yan touched the earpiece in his ear and connected to the line with Bailang. Monts later, after hearing the response in his earpiece, Pei Yan walked up to Leohard, turned on the speaker, and said in a deep voice, "Mr. Bailang, your subordinate Leohard wants to discuss the specifics of the action with you."
After finishing, Pei Yan placed his chanical left arm in front of Leohard, condensed a microphone, and shouted, "Speak to your superior!"
Leohard nervously swallowed a gulp of saliva, took a deep breath with his eyes closed, and finally spoke helplessly, "Lord Bailang, they want to know the detailed specifics of preventing the enemy from reestablishing the Disaster Pillar after it's been toppled."
Silence, after a while a deep voice from Bailang ca from the other side of the microphone: "Mr. Shitang, I think this doesn't concern much, we can assure you that we will fully comply with your command, and after-battle processing matters like this should be handled by us. Please trust that we will manage this issue properly!"
"Bailang, you've played for a fool more than once, ruining the trust between people. Why didn't you ntion anything before the virtual pillar moved out? Don't tell you genuinely couldn't obtain detailed intel in this area. If so, then there's nothing more to discuss. That's why I must know all the details of this mission!" Pei Yan sharply retorted without backing down.
"Mr. Shitang! We didn't intentionally hide the information about the virtual pillar; we planned to inform you after your reconnaissance and when we were preparing the battle plan!"
Pausing at this, Bailang adjusted his agitated mood and continued, "Also, don't portray yourself as an angel while pushing all the bla on us. We have repeatedly retreated from your almost violent actions, but we have our limits! Don't you have any secrets kept from us? Until now, we still can't verify if you really ca from the Foundation Plane, yet we chose to trust you, which is a significant demonstration of our sincerity! The Demon Race is in a predicant, but we are also buying ti for other planes. This cooperation is mutually beneficial, not a charity to the Demon Race. Seeing Ye Ruozai nod in agreent, he turned off the speaker, went aside, and sincerely responded, "I cannot give you such an assurance. If it concerns the safety of my plane, I must relay the information, but I promise to consider your interests seriously and handle them accordingly."
After a while, having listened to Sifuer's reply through the earpiece, Pei Yan, with a somber expression, walked over to Ye Ruozai, "Let them go, Leohard, take your people and rest aside!"
Ignoring Leohard supporting Kodwen as they moved aside, Pei Yan settled down by a large tree, scanned his comrades gathering around, and spoke in a lowered voice, "They indeed have a thod.
