"Business?" Pei Yan paused his hand, which was halfway through lighting a cigarette, and then chuckled sarcastically, "I think you've got it wrong; what business do we have to do with each other? What's this? Are you planning to turn traitor and sell out the organization? Ah, if you truly intend to do that, I'm really out of options. How about sparing your life but subjecting you to a lifelong imprisonnt, never to see the light of day again? That's my biggest concession."
Bai Ze lightly rubbed his fingers back and forth on the scalding teacup, smiling bitterly, "Mr. Pei, you sure can joke; if it were real, I'd rather be killed."
"Oh, upset and calling Mr. Pei instead of Junior Brother Pei? No need for that, it feels so distant, Brother Bai. My curiosity has been piqued by you. Tell , what kind of business gives you such confidence to ensure I spare your life upon hearing it?" Pei Yan lit the cigarette he held, and watched Bai Ze with interest.
"You didn't absorb the Origin Fragnt my master left you; seems like Junior Brother Pei is still quite wary of him. Actually, you needn't be so cautious. Once given to you, my master wouldn't ddle in such petty matters." Bai Ze returned to calling him Junior Brother Pei, took a sip from his teacup, and responded nonchalantly.
"Don't say that; your master has ddled in petty matters more than enough. My caution's been fooled several tis already. Without vigilance, haha, I'm afraid I'd have people rembering my anniversary today. Alright, stop beating around the bush. Speak directly." Pei Yan exhaled a smoke ring and said impatiently amidst the swirling smoke.
"Since Junior Brother Pei isn't inclined to chat much, let's get straight to the point. I suppose you all have a certain understanding of what happened last night, so I'd like to ask: how do you foresee the situation developing next?" Bai Ze cut to the chase, seeing Pei's impatience.
"Bai Ze, is this how your master taught you to negotiate business?" Pei Yan flicked ashes off his cigarette and snorted disdainfully, "What do we think? We think a lot! But does it relate to you? Is there any need to inform you?"

After hearing Bai Ze's comnts, Pei Yan exchanged glances with Gu Shenghui sitting beside him, which matched one of their forecasts in the corridor. He then turned back to Bai Ze and uttered with double aning, "Isn't this exactly what you and your insider hoped for?"

He put down his cup and replied calmly, "Whether it's our expectation or not, just as Junior Brother Pei said, it doesn't concern you, but the events to follow concern both of us. The Immortal Palace election is postponed, yet they must uphold Daoist Realm's reputation to maintain leadership in the coming battle against Blood Slaughter. The post-election interdinsional young generation Sword Discussion Conference will still be held, and evidently, the Immortal Palace will strive to win the top spot more than ever. With this situation, how does Junior Brother Pei plan to respond?"
"Oh, no need for to say—I'm already clear!" Before Pei Yan could respond, Bai Ze reached out and interrupted, answering himself, "Given your series of actions since coming here, it's not hard to deduce the Investigation Bureau is here to assert dominance. How could Junior Brother Pei miss this opportunity to gain fa? You must be planning to participate, right?"

Pei Yan sat back down, and after confirming he heard correctly, mocked with a laugh, "Have you gone mad? You're still planning to attend? The mont your people appear in the venue, they'll be torn to shreds. What are you thinking?"
Bai Ze spread his hands and scoffed, "You're right; that possibility indeed exists, but do you want to hear my terms? If the Immortal Palace and other realms agree to let us participate in this Sword Discussion Conference, we're willing to offer generous prizes. If I'm not mistaken, the Origin Children of the other four realms don't have the Blood Slaughter Origin Seed and corresponding Origin Fragnt, do they? Without these, their Origin cycles won't be complete, unable to reach true peaks. Do you think offering such prizes would make them agree to our participation?"
Hearing this, Pei Yan sat stunned for a while, speechless. Bai Ze was right; if this bait were thrown, it wouldn't matter much to him, but the Origin Children from the other realms might not be able to resist the temptation. The cause of this possibility seed partly due to himself. Since arriving at the Daoist Realm, his displayed strength left a lasting impression on everyone, and completing the six-cycle was deed a substantial support for this capability. Though Pei Yan understood his six-cycle was a fortuitous coincidence, not everyone would have such an opportunity, if others thought he deliberately withheld knowledge, they wouldn't believe his claim.
"Why are you doing this? Don't tell you suddenly developed a conscience to give back to society!" Pei Yan murmured, perplexed, after regaining himself.
Bai Ze shook his head with a smile, "We're certainly not benevolent enough to offer contributions for free. Not everyone can claim these prizes. If they want them, they'll have to show their strength. According to previous Sword Discussion Conference rules, divided into team and individual events, teams of five can compete, and individuals can have three participants. We promise the team contest winner five Blood Slaughter Origin Seeds and Origin Fragnts as a reward, four for second place, and three for third. For individual events, we promise the winner three Origin Seeds and Fragnts along with a Divine Artifact, the second place gets two Origin Seeds with a pseudo-Divine Artifact, and third place receives two Origin Seeds."
After finishing, Bai Ze switched his tone, "Similarly, if we achieve any rankings, the other four realms must offer equal rewards as prizes! All Origin Fragnts must contain laws, no fakes allowed!"
"Oh!" Bai Ze's proposal undeniably brightened Pei Yan's eyes. He jumped up and paced back and forth in the room, seriously pondering his words. If this truly happens, and the Investigation Bureau achieves ranking, the exchanged fragnts would imdiately elevate several high-level masters with multidinsional origins, quite an enticing prospect! But, can there really be such a windfall?"
