Seeing this eerie sight, Pei Yan leaped back to distance himself from the clearly dangerous black swamp. Just then, Andina's ethereal and elusive giggle sounded from above: "Co, have a good play with my collection, or perhaps beco part of it yourself. I'll treat you well, giggle!"
As soon as the words fell, the corpse before Pei Yan turned into a muddy swamp and began to churn violently. One by one, humanoid mud figures slowly rose from it. As the mud gradually fell away from them, they revealed pale, bloodless faces of all kinds. With the increasing number of erging mud n, it wasn't long before they numbered a hundred. These people had different skin tones and appearances, yet they all shared a pair of empty, lifeless eyes.
"Is this your collection, a group of puppets with no intelligence?" Pei Yan looked at the sluggish, dull-eyed puppets before him and spoke derisively, a look of disdain on his face. After saying this, he couldn't be bothered to bicker further and charged directly at the crowd wielding a long knife. As he expected, these sluggish mud n crumbled to pieces when sliced by his knife. Pei Yan swiftly cleared out the puppets on the field, and when he didn't spot Andina, he turned his gaze to another Blood Fiend team mber.
The person smirked as Pei Yan glared at him nacingly, pointing mockingly behind Pei Yan: "Mr. Pei, it seems you haven't dealt with your opponents thoroughly yet."
Hearing this, Pei Yan didn't need to turn his head. Using the cara on his back shoulder, he knew the mud puppet crowd he had turned to ash had reford into humanoid shapes shortly after disintegrating. Seeing this, Pei Yan rolled his eyes and murmured, "Troubleso creatures!"
With that, he rapidly fired over a dozen electromagnetic cannonballs across the entire battlefield. Watching the mud n turn back into earth, he wasn't satisfied. With one hand, he summoned a massive amount of elental energy, which eventually transford into a blazing fireball in his palm. Under Pei Yan's control, the fireball road over the area where the mud n were, scorching it thoroughly. It wasn't until that land turned to scorched earth that he stopped and turned back to face the man who stood motionless the entire ti.
Just as Pei Yan was about to launch another attack on his target, a series of cracking sounds of earth breaking resounded behind him, causing him to halt. When he painstakingly turned around, the mud puppet horde he thought he'd destroyed once again reford behind him.
This ti, Pei Yan completely dispelled any sense of contempt because he realized that each ti these creatures died, they regenerated faster, and their eyes no longer appeared as vacant as when they first erged. The emptiness in their eyes gradually showed a hint of life, making Pei Yan's scalp tingle and leading him to think that matters weren't as simple as he'd assud.
Just as he was considering how to once and for all get rid of these troubleso creatures, the puppets he had been trampling on unexpectedly moved. The ten or so puppets closest to Pei Yan grabbed at the air with one hand, each conjuring a long knife made of condensed earth. Gripping these knives, the puppets launched a fearless charge at Pei Yan.
Faced with such a slow-moving attack, Pei Yan didn't even bother to dodge. He casually parried with his long knife, shattering the opponents' knives. After a few slashes, the charging mud n were once more cleaved in two. But what truly shocked Pei Yan were the remaining mud puppets, who raised their arms one by one, mimicking his earlier attacks. They conjured fireballs in their palms, and under Pei Yan's stunned gaze, a rain of fireball hurtled towards him.
Pei Yan continuously weaved through the firestorm while smashing mud puppets with his long knife. With one hand free, he unleashed bolt after bolt of lightning at the puppets. The familiar scene before him gave him a bad premonition, and now he needed to conduct a few experints to confirm his suspicions.
With a calm deanor and steady breath, Pei Yan once again slashed all the puppets to ash. This ti, he did not hastily leave the battlefield; instead, he stood silently in place waiting. As he anticipated, it took less than half a minute for the puppets he'd slashed down to reform. This ti, their eyes were no longer vacant. Through those blood-red eyes, Pei Yan could clearly sense the killing intent within. Matching that gaze was their increasingly nimble movents.
Even though the puppets, when charging with knives again, had greatly improved in action and reaction speed from the initial ergence, reaching levels far beyond that of ordinary martial artists, in the battle-seasoned eyes of Pei Yan, they were still as slow as snails. After easily neutralizing their assault within a few moves, his real focus was on the group of puppets concentrating energy in place.
As the fireballs and lightning wildly blasted towards him, Pei Yan's face turned darker than ever under his mask. The scenario he least wanted to happen had finally occurred.
"What connection do these puppets have with the Disaster Legion's enslavers!" Without unleashing another lethal blow to eradicate the puppets, Pei Yan leapt back and forth to dodge their group-fired attacks while loudly questioning the void.
It's no wonder Pei Yan made the association. Absorbing others' attack thods, learning and emulating them, and turning them for one's use; it was exactly like what the low-level enslavers he had encountered when he first arrived on the Hell Plane did. The only difference was that these mud puppets learned and grew even faster, possessing a regeneration rate far beyond Pei Yan's understanding!
"Giggle! How did you guess? Your reaction is quite fast, hmm? Weren't you just full of confidence and disdain? How co you can't bear it now?" Andina's mocking laughter echoed through the void once again.
"Ah, yes! Speaking of the Disaster Legion, Blood Fiend, they are one family. It's not difficult for similar attributes to connect them. What I wonder is how you managed it! Are these puppets those enslavers?" Pei Yan asked while dodging and slicing through a puppet attacking him, feigning an appearance of being overwheld as he continued his inquiry.
"Enslavers?" Andina uttered these three words with thick disdain: "Don't compare my collection to such lowly minions! They rely provided a tiny bit of primitive genes for my collection, hmph hmph hmph!"
Andina then gave a burst of triumphant laughter: "Pei Yan, I know you're probing my words, but I don't care! It doesn't matter, if you manage to survive my puppets' next attack, I don't mind revealing a little secret of my abilities to you! But that depends on how well you perform. Don't disappoint too much! After all, you're the one I most desire to add to my collection!"
