"Earth Cone Technique!" After suppressing the restless Moira within his body, Flal placed his palm on Pei Yan's chest, unleashing an Earth Cone Technique that sent Pei Yan flying backwards, creating a massive wound on his chest, from which blood and viscera continuously poured out.
Flal did not want to use up a precious body double for such wounds, so he covered his wound with one hand to accelerate the self-healing process by redirecting source energy. However, Pei Yan didn't intend to miss the opportunity to strike while the iron was hot. In the instant he was struck by the earth cone, he spun around and charged back again.
Despite Flal quickening his pace and altering his escape path, he couldn't outpace Pei Yan's ultra-high-speed pursuit. Within a few breaths, Pei Yan was once again darting to Flal's side, and after a few exchanges, Pei Yan aid a sidekick at Flal's hand covering the wound.
The kick hit with a bang.
"Pooh! Holy Defense!" The freshly aggravated wound made Flal spit out a mouthful of blood while he waved his hand to cast a spell, creating a spherical defensive wall around himself, hoping it would slow Pei Yan's attack and buy him ti to heal.
Yet his action was still a step too late, for just as the defensive wall was about to complete, Pei Yan had already slipped through the final gap before the wall closed, getting inside it.
"Earth Cone Technique!" Flal reacted swiftly, intending to unleash another Earth Cone Technique, but to his dismay, Pei Yan grabbed his wrist, yanking it aside while delivering a harsh punch to Flal's face.
Flal tilted his head back, crashing into his own defensive wall before bouncing back to face another incoming iron fist.
"Your Space Technique is ant to compensate for your lack of close combat skills, right? Now that it's neutralized, what will you use to fend off my pursuit?" After delivering another punch to Flal's body, Pei Yan, driven by adrenaline, spread his arms as eight chanical claws erged like spider legs from behind him, each claw and hand glowing a brilliant blue.
"Source Energy Slash!"
"Holy Light Shield!"
Ten compressed source energy lines shot out from Pei Yan's palms, sweeping towards Flal from all directions. As Flal shouted the words "Holy Light Shield," a glimr burst from his body only to be extinguished, and before he could even scream, the converging source energy lines sliced him into pieces.
After scattered limbs fell from the sky and ford a pile on the ground, Flal's form slowly rose from within. He knew without thinking that there must be another corpse now at his estate where his body doubles were kept! Yet he couldn't understand why his Holy Light Shield, which he clearly cast, had no effect! Although the shield wasn't a top-tier defensive spell, it should've had the capability to prevent vital areas from being sliced by the source energy lines.
It was only when he raised his head and saw the fading roulette wheel not far away that he found the answer to his problem. At so unknown ti, after three spins, the pointer had landed on the section labeled "Flal's next spell is destined to fail."
"Damn it!" Flal cursed, standing upright and glaring venomously at Pei Yan, who hovered above him. He lost yet another body double, but the advantage was that all the injuries he suffered were nullified due to the body double's death; the downside was he was left with only one body double.
The Moira within him probably also had its own body double, yet as the main entity of a spirit-body fusion, Flal did not share this life-saving thod with it. The only way to activate it was to relinquish control of his body, which was sothing the proud Flal could never accept.
"I have no objections to anything else, but you few dinsions' life-saving thods, I truly admire; everyone seems to have nine lives like a cat, so hard to deal with!" Pei Yan exclaid sincerely as he t Flal's gaze.
"What about that bizarre roulette of yours? Why not use it anymore? Are its uses exhausted?" Flal, feeling a lingering fear, moved his fully recovered body, leaping into the air to face Pei Yan, saying, "You've hit the jackpot three tis, drawing traps for . If you can control where the roulette stops, why not just write 'Flal dies' all over it? What's the secret behind it?"
"Bla it on your bad luck. Of course, there's a secret, but do I have to tell you?"
Pei Yan certainly had no reason to reveal the secret to Flal. Not to him or even to himself when he first learned that his sister's awakening ability after two consecutive advancents was this curious thing; he found it fascinating yet was surprised by its mystical nature.
Treasures of nature, roulette gamble, lucky coin!
When Pei Jin awakened to the fourth tier, her accompanying awakening ability was roulette gamble. At that ti, this ability seed completely mismatched with her innate abilities, holding no interest or value to her, more like a tasteless dish better thrown away than kept.
This ability ant that in combat, if any personal item of hers was placed near the enemy, it would establish a bet by default. With the activation of source energy, a specially customized roulette for both parties would appear on the battlefield, featuring various potential battle mishaps for the two individuals, and whenever the wheel landed on one, the bet would be instantly fulfilled.
This ability was exactly as Wang Wenze described it: a wager on luck, harming both the enemy and oneself; thus, when Pei Jin was imnsely powerful, she felt it unnecessary to take the risk and chose to hide it.
This situation didn't change until she reached the sixth tier and awakened a new ability, the Lucky Coin! Its power was exactly as its na suggested: once you'd guessed the heads or tails correctly, your luck would increase even as you tossed the coin.
These two abilities alone were virtually useless; who could claim they'd always win in a roulette gamble? And even if the lucky odds were in her favor, against overwhelming power, she might escape but never defeat the opponent.
When these two abilities combined, they unleashed unprecedented strength. Though Pei Jin couldn't order the roulette to select the options she wanted, the additional luck bestowed by the Lucky Coin made the wheel predominantly strike options beneficial to herself, causing ill luck for the enemy.
