Walker Grant’s sharp, cold gaze fell upon Preston Vance, his presence growing even more frigid.
Preston Vance raised an eyebrow slightly, then turned to Chloe Reed. "Miss Reed, and what is your choice?"
Iris Yates squeezed Chloe Reed’s hand, signaling for her to choose Preston Vance.
Walker Grant’s dark, intense gaze also fell upon her face, and his Adam’s apple bobbed.

Chloe Reed lowered her gaze, her long lashes trembling. After only a mont’s thought, she looked at Preston Vance. "Mr. Vance, thank you."
Then, she took Iris Yates’s hand and walked toward Preston Vance’s car.
Preston Vance smiled faintly and walked beside her.
"Chloe."
A man’s deep voice called out from behind her.
Chloe Reed’s back straightened. Without looking back, she got straight into Preston Vance’s car.
The car door closed, shutting out the frigid atmosphere, and Iris Yates imdiately let out a sigh of relief.
Preston Vance asked with concern, "Miss Reed, is there anything you need help with?"
Hearing this, Chloe Reed’s expression faltered for a mont.
She looked at Preston Vance and saw the serious expression on his handso, refined face, his light brown eyes fixed on her.
The unspoken ssage was clear: she could co to him with any problem she had.
Chloe Reed’s fingers curled slightly. She smiled, shook her head, and said, "There’s nothing."
Iris Yates, sitting beside her, was getting anxious.
’But when it ca to this, she was an outsider, after all. It wasn’t her place to interfere.’

Preston Vance lowered his gaze slightly. "Miss Reed, you saved my life. So no matter what trouble you’re in, as long as you say the word, I can help you resolve it. Please don’t worry about being a burden to ."
Chloe Reed’s heart ward, and her eyes softened. "Mr. Vance, thank you, really. But I’m honestly not in any trouble right now. Rest assured, if I do need help in the future, I won’t hesitate to ask."
"Good. Then it’s a promise."
A pinch on her inner arm brought Chloe Reed to her senses, and she quickly made the introduction. "Mr. Vance, this is my best friend, Iris Yates."
Iris Yates imdiately broke into a smile, extending her hand to Preston Vance. "A pleasure to et you, Mr. Vance."
Preston Vance shook her hand. "A pleasure, Miss Yates."
Iris Yates was so nervous her palms were sweating. ’A big shot who returned from overseas! I actually t one today!’

Walker Grant stood rooted to the spot, watching the car drive off into the distance. His handso face grew increasingly cold, a dark shadow falling over it.
Passersby instinctively gave him a wide berth, afraid they would beco the target of his anger.
After a long mont, he finally got into his car and dialed Dylan Finch’s number. "Go acquire Miravox."
Miravox Voice Acting was the company where Chloe Reed currently worked.
Although Dylan Finch didn’t understand, he still agreed. "Understood."
The order was urgent. Dylan Finch imdiately assembled a project team and scheduled a eting with the owner of Miravox.
When the owner learned that Grant Corporation wanted to acquire them, he was completely blindsided.
