Walker didn’t say anything more. He remained slouched casually as he calmly finished his cigarette.
Faint wisps of smoke drifted through the air before quickly dissipating.
But for so reason, Daniel Hayes felt a surge of danger.
Every muscle in his body tensed.
The next second, the man who had just been lounging casually seized the initiative, lunging at Daniel Hayes with incredible speed.
Stunned, Daniel Hayes scrambled to defend himself.
But after just a few exchanges, he was shocked to discover he was no match for Walker at all!
What’s more, Walker’s fighting style was uncannily familiar!
Within fifteen moves, Daniel Hayes was on the floor. Walker planted a foot on his chest, his cold eyes boring into him. "You’re barely qualified to protect her."
Daniel Hayes’s breathing was ragged. The earlier disdain in his eyes was gone, replaced by a probing curiosity.
"Who are you, really?"
Walker lifted his foot, his tone mild. "So, will you listen to now?"
Daniel Hayes sat up and gazed at him with a complex expression. After a long mont, he finally said, "I would never hurt Miss Reed."
"I won’t hurt her either." Walker sank back into the sofa. The violent, wild aura around him retracted, and he once again resembled a refined, noble young master.
"Now, I need to know two things. First, I want complete files on every new person who has appeared around her. Second, there’s another group of people near her, a very mysterious one. When you’re with her, you need to watch out for them."
Daniel Hayes looked crestfallen. After a long mont, he mumbled sullenly, "I understand."
But he still had to ask, looking at him, "Who are you, really?"
Walker, however, just got up and walked toward the door, clearly having no intention of answering him.
’I thought Chloe was only surrounded by ordinary people, but after these last two incidents, I realize I’ve been too careless.’

Walker’s heart sank. He took out his phone and woke the screen.
On the screen was a photo of him and Chloe Reed.
The photo was from their college days, taken during a date in a park blanketed with a sea of flowers.
Her face was lit up with a radiant smile as he kissed the corner of her lips. The picture had captured the beautiful mont perfectly.
His thumb traced her radiant smile, and his eyes filled with longing and nostalgia.
...
「The next day.」
The private jet was ready, and Madam Grant was about to be sent away.
She protested, but it was no use.
That grandson of hers paid her no mind.
He was in charge of Grant Corporation now, and once he made a decision, he rarely changed his mind.
Madam Grant was furious. She called Judith Pierce. "Your son is such a bastard, why don’t you do sothing about him? Aren’t you afraid everyone will curse his na?"
Judith Pierce knew what was happening, but she had no intention of stopping it. This ti, her mother-in-law had truly gone too far.
She replied in a cold tone, "Mother, living abroad will be nice. Walker will arrange for the best staff to take care of you. You’ll be happier there than you are here."
"That’s absolute nonsense!" Madam Grant’s voice trembled with rage. "I’m this old, and you’re sending off to die in a foreign country! You unfilial descendants! I hate this! The one who should have been sent abroad back then was that monster, not Julian! If Julian were still alive, he would never treat like this!"
Judith Pierce’s tone grew even colder. "Julian has been dead for four years. You should stop saying things like that. If Walker hears you, he’ll get angry, and you’ll only be the one to suffer for it."
