Aunt King was visibly stunned, a look of helplessness crossing her face. "Miss Reed, did I do sothing wrong?"
Chloe Reed offered a gentle smile and shook her head. "No, I haven’t been very busy lately, so I can take care of my grandmother myself."
Her grandmother then said, "I’m old. I don’t like a lot of people around."
Aunt King could only nod and go pack her things.
When Aunt Miller and Aunt Lewis returned, she told them the sa thing.
Aunt Miller’s reaction was unremarkable, but Aunt Lewis frowned slightly and said, "Miss Reed, can you really manage to take care of her all by yourself?"
"I can."
Chloe Reed gave her a longer look.
Aunt Lewis was still worried. "Is there sothing we’ve done wrong? You can just tell us."
Chloe Reed said, "My grandmother and I prefer peace and quiet."
"But..." Aunt Lewis still wanted to say sothing more.
Chloe Reed stared at her and asked, "You seem very keen to stay. Why?"
Aunt Lewis’s back instantly tensed up. She then said, "I just think this is very sudden. To be honest, I find you and your grandmother very easy to get along with, and the work has been going smoothly. I won’t lie to you, as a caregiver, finding employers who are easy to get along with is a huge relief."
