Chloe Reed was completely taken aback by how quickly she caved. Patting her on the back with a helpless smile, she said, "It’s okay. He wouldn’t dare."
Iris Yates imdiately breathed a sigh of relief. She sat down beside her, grabbed a bag of chips, and started crunching away.
While eating, she said, "I really don’t get it. How can he not understand the concept of personal boundaries? What brother-in-law is that devoted to his sister-in-law? I’m even starting to suspect that Noah Grant is his spawn."
Chloe Reed lowered her eyes slightly and said, "If only that were true."
’Then things wouldn’t have beco so complicated.’
"Sigh..."
Iris Yates couldn’t help but sigh, looking at her with a worried expression. "So when on earth are you two getting a divorce?"
Chloe Reed said, "Sooner or later."
A determined glint shone in her eyes. She had to make it happen, no matter what.
Iris Yates didn’t continue the topic, because there was no point in discussing it further.
She found a horror movie for her and Chloe Reed to watch.
However, just as they were halfway through, a sudden knock echoed from the door.
The movie had just reached a tense, exciting part, and the sudden knock made the two girls jump in fright!
"Who is it?!"
Iris Yates yelled towards the door, annoyed.
Chloe Reed also stood up, going with her to the door to see who it was.
When she saw Walker Grant standing at the door, her brow furrowed instantly. She opened it and asked, "What are you doing here?"
The mont Iris Yates saw him, she instinctively ducked behind Chloe Reed, glaring at him with hostility.
Walker Grant said, "I was worried."
Iris Yates couldn’t hold back. "What’s there to be worried about when Chloe is with ? If anything, being around *you* is what’s most dangerous!"
Walker Grant shot her an icy glance.
Iris Yates imdiately flinched, only daring to watch him furtively.
Chloe Reed’s tone was perfectly calm. "I’m right here, and I’m not going anywhere. Besides, didn’t you say I wouldn’t be in any danger for a while? Or were you lying to ?"
"I didn’t lie to you." Walker Grant’s expression was impassive. He glanced at Iris Yates. "But that was on the condition that *she* didn’t provoke William Quinn."
Upon hearing this, Chloe Reed’s pupils contracted. "What do you an?"
Iris Yates blinked in confusion. "Who’s William Quinn? I don’t know anyone by that na, so I couldn’t have provoked him. Don’t you dare try to pin sothing on ."
Walker Grant said, "Let in."
"No way!"
Iris Yates imdiately shook her head, refusing. "This is my house, and you are not welco!"
Walker Grant didn’t seem to get angry. He simply looked at Chloe Reed and said, "Then you can co ho with ."
"That’s not happening either!"
Iris Yates grabbed Chloe Reed’s arm and stared at him warily. "Chloe promised she would stay and keep company tonight."
Walker Grant raised an eyebrow. A smirk played on his lips. "Fine. In that case, let tell you about this William Quinn guy..."
Chloe Reed looked at Iris Yates. "Let him in. This person he’s talking about... he might actually be connected to you."
Iris Yates looked completely baffled. "Huh?"
Chloe Reed pulled her back a few steps. Walker Grant strode in as if he owned the place, sat down on the sofa without a hint of courtesy, and shot a glance at Iris Yates. "I’m a guest in your house. Aren’t you going to offer so proper hospitality?"
Iris Yates shut the door and said in a cold voice, "How about I serve you a nice big cup of nothing? You want so?"
