Chloe Reed shot to her feet, her face a mask of disbelief. "How could he be here...?"
Walker Grant rose to his feet, shielding her. His dark eyes were filled with an icy glare as he watched William Quinn crash the wedding.
So people scread. Others wanted to run but were too afraid of the handgun to move. The room fell into an eerie silence.
Nathaniel Monroe’s expression darkened. He moved to stand directly in front of Iris, his breathing heavy.
’After searching for so many days with no leads... To think he would choose to show up today.’
’So, when did he find Iris?’
Iris Yates saw William Quinn, too. Her eyes widened in astonishnt, and the bouquet she was holding dropped to the floor.
The mory of that night was still vivid. In the dim light, they had seen each other’s faces clearly.
She had been shocked by his exquisite features. His blue eyes had stared at her with an unnerving obsession, but his actions had been anything but gentle.
She had chalked it up to an accident.
She never imagined she would cross paths with him again.
Nearly a month had passed, and he was still looking for her.
For a mont, Iris couldn’t quite put a na to the feeling in her heart. It was a mix of fear and bewildernt.
’It was just a one-night stand. Why did he have to track down?’
’I’m even "getting married," and he still showed up?’
"Who are you? How dare you just barge in like this?" Mr. Monroe stood up, his expression grim as he stared at William Quinn.
Mrs. Monroe gripped Claire Monroe’s hand even tighter.
Claire Monroe narrowed her eyes. "It’s him. Why is he here?"
William Quinn began to laugh. His blue eyes were locked on Iris, who was hiding behind Nathaniel Monroe. He started walking toward them, step by step, down the long aisle.
"My first-night girl, you certainly made search for you."
His gaze shifted to Nathaniel Monroe’s face. "So you were lying to all along. You want to steal her from ? You deserve to die!"
The mont he finished speaking, he pulled the trigger!
Nathaniel’s nerves were stretched taut. He had remained vigilant, and when he sensed the danger, he imdiately pulled Iris into his arms and dropped, dodging the bullet.
"Ahh!"
Soone scread again, and the scene devolved into chaos.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
Three gunshots rang out, followed by a furious roar. "Don’t move! If you run, you die!"
William Quinn was like a rampaging lion. His sharp blue eyes swept over the crowd, and his expression grew even darker when he saw Walker and Chloe.
"So, you’re all in this together. You ganged up to deceive . You all deserve to die."
Mr. Monroe’s brow furrowed. "What exactly do you want here?"
Of course, William Quinn hadn’t forgotten his purpose. He said, "I’m here for my first-night girl."
Mr. Monroe looked completely baffled. "What ’first-night girl’?"
"Hahaha!" William Quinn suddenly roared with laughter. He shouted, "A month ago, in a bar, the star of today’s show—this beautiful bride—and I slept together! We were at it all night, but when I woke up, she had run off! She abandoned ! And now she’s trying to marry another man! Tell , isn’t that just a slap in the face?!"
The crowd was aghast.
Mrs. Yates imdiately shook her head, denying it. "Impossible! My Iris isn’t that kind of girl!"
All the guests’ eyes turned to Iris. Their expressions of fear were now tinged with scorn and contempt, as if she had committed so unforgivable sin.
Iris’s face turned ashen. ’She never imagined he would air this out in front of everyone.’ He was grinding her dignity into the dust.
